Your Friendship is a Blessing

Happy Monday!
Whew I'm so glad the weekend is over! It was soooooooooo busy at work and there was soooooooooooo much drama! Last night I had a young man have a seizure or something at the front of the store. After tending to him and calling 911(twice...grrrrr) I was worried sick about him. A few hours later his mom called to thank us for taking good care of her son. That was really sweet of her and helped calm my nerves a bit.
Before all that work stuff...I was able to stamp a few cards!
This one was for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #46.
Just recently I picked up this Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg designer paper. So rich and warm, eh?
I stamped the images from Branching Out with Memento Rich Cocoa and coloured with Copics. This is one of my all time fave stamp sets from Taylored Expressions!!!
Stamps: Branching Out; Cardstock: Choice Buttercream, Core'dinations, Nutmeg DP; Inks: Mememto Rich Cocoa; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Dew Drops, Dimensionals

Enjoy...

the day off! That's what I plan to do! Although my day will still be busy. But then when is life not busy these days, right?
I was cruising through some of my folders last night and I don't think I shared this Dirty Dozen card with you. It's ALMOST a SU! only card. I'm pretty sure I added some stardust stickles to the flower centers. The challenge for this card was to use the In Colours...all of them ;)
I did it! I can't recall the last time I used those Build A Brads....hmmmm! I can remember when I first got them and used them on EVERYTHING! Time to dig into my stash again!
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to scroll down and see the All That Scraps sneak peek!

Warm Cocoa Wishes

This is a preview of Diane's new set called Warm Cocoa Wishes that will be available from All That Scraps on Monday. It's going to be another set that I'll be using quite often for gift giving! Chloe already has ideas of gifting handmade packages of cocoa to her friends. I told her she should get busy then ;)
Well I better go and get busy stamping! I have more previews to make!!
Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Sharing in your Sorrow

Today is a sad day. A friend and co-worker lost his mother last week and today she will be put to rest. I wanted to make a card for him but making sympathy cards are always difficult. A couple of months ago I made his mom a birthday card(here) in some bright colours because she loved green. I dug through my designer papers and found something green to use, just for her.
I know a card doesn't do a whole lot for someone who just lost a loved one but I wanted him to know I'm thinking of him.
I've been super busy these past few days and haven't had much stamping time. Tomorrow I have a huge presentation to do and I'm still working on all the charts, graphs, sales....ugh! I hope I can finish it early enough today so just REST up!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Friday!
This week I'm really struggling with time management....lol
Just when I thought I had plenty of time to stamp...wham....something else comes up...ugh!
So once again I am diggin' deep in my Dirty Dozen folders and sharing a card from my DD days with you.
I hope that I will have some serious stamping time this weekend! I'm going nutty!

Snippet

Pop on over to the Stamp A Sweet Impression Blog and see a little more of this ;)

Luxurious Labels SCS Sketch 255

Ok first off, I need to apologize for the crummy pic! Lavender Lace is such a hard colour to capture. It looks a little off, sort of darker than it should. After several attempts I gave up and decided to just use the first picture I took....lol
I used the SCS sketch #255 for the layout. This card goes with something else I made. You'll have to come back a little later today to see ;)
Stamps: Taylored Expressions Luxurious Labels; Cardstock: White, Lavender Lace; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Organdy Ribbon, Stickles, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by! I can't wait to continue stamping all week!

California 2009 Pics

Good Morning~!
Since getting home I haven't had any stamping time so I thought I'd share a few pics from our trip to California. Hope you don't mind ;)
I will definitely be stamping tonight!
Our first trip was to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
Chloe really wanted to feed the birds some nectar. She did GREAT staying calm and letting them sit on her arm.

Of all the things to buy at Disneyland, she chose this hat! LOL! She has worn it daily since! It's from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Can't go to Disney without getting a shot of Goofy! Disneyland changed to Christmas while we were there....it was fantastic! They even made it SNOW after the fireworks!
Inside Mickey's house....
In jail somewhere in Toontown...

Sunday we made our way back up to Hollywood and Madame Tussauds Wax Museum.

Thanks for stopping by today! I will see you again tomorrow!

Tuesday 17 November 2009

Center of Attention Product Spotlight - Mini Binder Box

Well today the fun in the sun ends and we head back home to Edmonton. I'm always anxious to get home and see everyone but once I see all is okay, I want to turn back! lol!
I'm sure I'll have some pictures to share with you later this week.
Today I'm sharing a project I made using the Mini Binder Boxes that are available from Taylored Expressions.
I wanted to show something else you could do with it, other than storing some fabulous TE stamps ;)
A few years back I made quite a few birthday calendars using 5 x 9 open ended envelopes BUT they didn't hold up too well with all the shuffling I did from place to place. I'm thinking the one I made my Grandmother hasn't lasted either so I've made her a replacement!
These binder boxes are super sturdy yet easy enough for her to open. She has arthritis and has had difficulty with the simpliest of tasks....like opening things. I've decorated the outside and inside using some fun Crate Paper that I've had on my shelf for a long time. The adorable images are from the Beary Special and Beary Special Accessories.
On the inside I created some pockets that hold little mini calendars so Grandma can write down all her kids, grandkids and now great-grandkids birthdays along with others. The holes for the pockets were punched with a 1/4" circle punch...it fits perfectly around the stems of the binder box! There are 6 pockets in total. I think I'll throw in a bunch of cute TE cards in the back to get Grandma started!
I think I want to purchase another box to store my nesties in too! Be sure to stop by half of the Baker's Dozen to see what they have created for you today! I can't wait to get home and see for myself!

Some special news from Taylored Expressions:
The binder boxes will no longer include a cover/spine and have been lowered in price to $9.95. There are spine/cover downloads available for $2.49.
Each of the Center of Attention products will be on sale for a limited time following our product spotlight (November 16-17). This time we'll be offering a 15% discount on our Mini Binder Box!

I used a new Taylored Expressions set called Luxurious Labels with the Spa Key Ingredients Kit.
Thanks for stopping by today! I promise to catch up with everyone this week!
