Good-bye 2012 Hello 2013

Wow I can't believe 2012 is coming to an end!

This year has been full of happiness for our house.
One of the highlights was a visit from my parents in June. It'd been 5 years since we'd last seen my dad and Chloe had grown a lot. I'm sure they were thrilled at what a beautiful young lady she has become :)
Some other highs were our vacations as a family, adopting Bogan and Redneck(budgies) from the humane society and Snickers getting healthy!

Each year I like to look back at some of my favourite cards.

Shape Up 2013

Hello :)

Yesterday I slept in until 6:09 am....first time I've slept past 4:30 in weeks!
I thought I'd have a ton of time to stamp but with cleaning, laundry, errands and taking Chloe shopping to Lululemon I ran out of time :(

I did however have some time to create a card for the MFT Guest Designer January sketch.
2013 IS going to be my year to Shape Up! That treadmill will no longer collect dust and I'll drag Chloe and Brian down to get on the elliptical while I run/walk. Together as a family we will get fit!
Stamps: Let's Get Physical
Paper: White, Pool Party, Teresa Collins Tell Your Story DP
Ink: Memento black
Accessories: Copics, MFT fishtail Flag dies, MFT By the Numbers Die, MFT mini file tab die, Sewing, Dimensionals

Thanks a Bunch

Good Saturday Morning!

Any big plans this weekend?
I'm off for the next four days and going to enjoy it with my family :)

Since the holidays are almost over I'm in need of some thank you cards. Both for my birthday and Christmas. I don't often mass produce but IF I did then then card would be wonderful to use.
I cased a card by Lynn here
Knowing instantly what stamps I would use from Verve!
The Bloom & Grow set is perfect, right?
Such a simple CAS design that's perfect for mailing.
Stamps: Bloom & Grow
Paper: White, Wisteria Wonder
Ink: Wisteria Wonder, Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz, Black
Accessories: Rhinestones

Other than taking Chloe BACK to the mall to finish spending her Christmas money I plan on stamping most of it!
I really need to clean my craft room too...it's a disaster!

Here is a card I created for Jen's Deconstructed Sketch #82 from last week.
Since I still had the Teresa Collins paper on my desk along with the MFT Vertical Greetings II....

The Best Things in Life

Good Thursday morning!

Wow it feels like a Monday after being home for two days....lol
The nice thing is that I work the next two days and then have four more in a row off!
Love it!

It was a super long day yesterday with getting up early to watch a little bit of Canada playing in the World Juniors then taking Chloe Boxing Day shopping. Madness I tell you!
I got my hockey fix with watching the Juniors in the morning and then the Spengler Cup in the early evening!

In between all that I created a couple more cards using the Teresa Collins designer paper that was in my stocking :)
This one is for the MFT sketch #104.

In 2012 I played along with all the MFT sketches...they are always fantastic!
The sketch was a square card but for mailing purposes I changed it to a 4.25 x 5.5 standard size.
Oh and I also rotated it :)
Stamps: Vertical Greetings II
Paper: White, Peach Parfait, Teresa Collins Tell Your Story DP
Ink: Black

May Your Life Be Like A....

Good morning!

Hopefully you had a wonderful Christmas yesterday!
Ours was nice, quiet and relaxing.
So much fun, laughter and food!
This morning I'm taking Chloe Boxing Day shopping.
Yikes! Hopefully she'll find some amazing deals and not get frustrated with all the people and line ups.

Yesterday while my family played with their new toys I snuck into my stamp room to play with some of mine!
Brian put a bunch of new crafting goodies in my stocking and this Teresa Collins Tell Your Story DP was one of them. He also got me the matching Washi tape but I didn't use it on this card....can't wait to try it out though!
This card uses the Mojo Monday Sketch #273 and a sweet Verve set called Feel The Sun.
Stamps: Feel The Sun
Paper: Pool Party, Black, White, Teresa Collins Tell Your Story DP

Dance Sing Live Mojo272

Can you believe it? Only two more sleeps until Christmas.
It's this time of year that I start getting bummed about it.
So much hype and excitement leading up to the big day and then it's over :(
I love the holidays, the music, the decorations and I love gifting.
After the holidays when we take the tree down and put away all my snowmen until next year it just seems so bare and boring. Plus we still have another few months of winter where we are....sort of depressing....lol
I'll dream of warm weather, sunshine and green grass!

I hope that you're ready for Christmas and that you're able to spend it with loved ones!

Still no stamping for me.
I'm hoping on Christmas Eve afternoon to finish up work early enough to sneak into my stamp room for a bit though!!! Can't wait!

Here is a card I created using the Mojo sketch from last week.
I varied it a bit by not using three elements in the center panel.
Instead I chose to use a sentiment that had three small verses to it. ;)

Stamps: Blessings
Paper: White, EP Happy Day dp
Ink: Black
Accessories: Sewing, Pool Party Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thank You For The Gift

Good Friday morning!

This is my hump day....half way through my work week! Yeah!
The last time I stamped was Monday and it feels like an eternity ago. Sad eh?
Joan had a challenge on SCS called an Inchie on a Tw-inchie.
I don't own any inchie stamps so I cut a 1 inch square and popped up a snowman from the In The Meadows Die Set by PTI.
Stamps: In The Meadows Silhouettes
Paper: White, Island Indigo, Carta Bella merry & bright dp
Ink: Island Indigo
Accessories: In the Meadows dies, dimensionals

Let's Celebrate YOU

Good morning!
Normally I'd be excited for Hump Day because it's half way through the work week....well not for me....lol
Hump Day will be about Saturday for me this week :(

Earlier this year we broke into teams at work. It's the best way I can explain it.
Anyway, I started a tradition of giving this sweet PI girl as a birthday card to anyone who has a birthday on my team.
Here is one I created using last week's MFT sketch #102.
I paper pieced her dress and added a bit of sparkle to the balloon with a spica pen but you can't see it in the picture....sorry!
Stamps: Birthday Girl
Paper: White, Island Indigo, MME A Mother's Love dp
Ink: Memento black
Accessories: Copics, MFT fishtail banner die, dimensionals
I'm also linking this card up to a new challenge blog that Lesley has created called Seize The Birthday.
Challenges will begin in January! Right now they are having a linky party to get the word out. I'm looking forward to playing along in 2013!
Thanks for stopping by!

Hello!

Well I'm starting my 7 day stretch at work....yuck!
I'm not sure how much stamping I'll get in over the next seven days but I did have some stampy time Sunday and Monday where I created a few things to share :)

This card was for Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #174.
I didn't have time to create with the team so I'm playing catch up!

Happy Holidays - Snowflakes

Hello!

Gosh it feels like it's been forever that I stamped!
The first part of the week I was down and out each night with this cold and the later part of the week I was busy with work.
Luckily, I'm on a three day weekend!
Today I will stamp. Yes.I.Will.

Today the Paper Players have a fun Snowflake Challenge!
For my card I went a little more masculine in the colours and design.
I embossed a black piece of cardstock with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.
My snowflake was created with a MFT die and then embossed with SU! detailed gold embossing powder. Love that stuff but don't use it nearly enough! The sentiment was embossed in gold and is from Verve.
This card uses the Freshly Made Sketch from this week and also the Dynamic Duos Challenge colours of gold and black.
I do hope you'll play along with us this week and upload your snowflake card to the Paper Players Blog!
Thanks for stopping by!
