TLC162 Paper Tole and a MFT Sketch Card

Good Evening!
Today was a nice relaxing day with Chloe being on Spring Break we weren't rushing this morning. I had my coffee while browsing the blogs this morning and had very good intentions to exercise but I couldn't figure out Brian's Bose stereo system....lol
So that meant I got to go stamp!!
I did a lot today but can't show some of the projects just yet.
I'll show what I can though ;)
This first card is for the sketch posted in the MFT Forum on SCS. My sponging on the Sage Shadow didn't show up very well in this picture...sorry. The scalloped border was created with the 1/2"circle punch.
Stamps: MFT Ride 'em Cowgirl
Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Creamy Caramel, Very Vanilla and DP
Inks: Adirondack Espresso, Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, Sage Shadow
Accessories: Copic Markers, 1/2"circle punch, Sponges, Lg Star Punch, Dimensionals
Next is a card I did for the Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS. It was Paper Tole. I love the 3D look of those cards but I don't have a lot of patience to cut things out. That's why you don't see me masking very many images. The dog was stamped three times on WW cardstock and coloured with my Copic Markers. I cut the whole dog out and used dimensionals to attach him to the card. Then I cut just his head and ears and attached that with dimensionals. That little dog bone is actually a brad that I decided to just hang with a piece of hemp.

Stamps: Ruff Day, Artistic Impressions; Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Marigold Morning, Wasabi, WW, BG dp; Inks: Adirondack Black, Brocade Blue; Accessories: Copic Markers, Pumpkin Grosgrain, Dog bone brad, Hemp, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

Thanks for stopping by today!

Featured Stamper

Good Afternoon All!
It's race day!
Featured Stamper on Sunday's is something I don't often do. I try to but sometimes I am playing catch up with some other blog sketches or challenges that I do each week. Yesterday I got a lot done and this morning I went to CASE Laura's Gallery on SCS. She has an amazing gallery!
I chose to case THIS card of hers.
The layout was a fun one! So I changed the cardstock, DP and stamps.
This card is another case of Laura's card HERE. Again, I loved the layout so changed the cardstock, stamps and DP.
I need to get back to watching the race now ;)
Thanks for stopping by!
I don't have time to list all the supplies but if you need to know something just holler!

Saturday Sketch Cards

Good Afternoon!
Finally the sun is out here. It looked like more snow this morning...ugh....seriously...we've had enough!
It's been a relaxing day around home so far and I've been able to work on a couple of cards this morning. Normally Saturdays are busy with errands and grocery shopping but Chloe is on Spring Break next week so I have plenty of time to do all that ;)
This first card uses Lauren's Sketch. I picked up this great DP from Cosmo Cricket the other day. It's such a fun boys paper!!
Stamps: Pun Fun
Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi, Marigold Morning, WC paper and Cosmo Cricket DP
Inks: Versafine Black, Blue Bayou, Wasabi, Marigold Morning
Accessories: 1 1/4", 1 3/8" circle punches, Paper piercer, Word Window Punch, Silver Brad, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter
Next is a card made using Jen's Sketch. The image is one I'd coloured the other night while watching hockey. It goes okay with this DP, I think anyway.

Stamps: CC Designs
Cardstock: Papertrey White, Soft Sky, Wasabi, WW, Scenic Route DP
Inks: Adirondack Black
Accessories: Copic Markers, Coluzzle, Marvy Scallop Punch, Corner Rounder, Flower and Bling, Buttons, Glue dots, Dimensionals
Late yesterday I managed to make another card for Beate's Sketch. I absolutely love this Summer Picnic DP!! I am definitely going to need to stock pile it before the mini catty ends!

Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Full of Life
Cardstock: Real Red, WW and Summer Picnic DP
Inks: Real Red, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive
Accessories: Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Three for You Punch, White Gel Pen
Thanks for stopping by today!
I'm heading out to meet up with Peggy from PaperWorksCo. and pick up an order I placed with her a couple of days ago. If you are looking for a great Canadian company try PaperWorksCo. If you are a local here in Edmonton and area you can pick up your orders from her and save on shipping!

Always Prettie Happy

Good Friday Morning!
I'm so excited for today...it's the last day of school and then Chloe is on Spring Break! YAH! No rushing in the mornings. Well until the 7th of April anyway ;)
I know many people wonder how I get so much done in a day. Let me try to explain.
I am a SAHM and we only have one child. She is in school all day. I work the lunch program at the school so I'm only out of the house for about an hour and a half each day. Since I get up with Brian at 5:30 each day, I have tons of time in the mornings to surf the blogs and drink my coffee before getting Chloe and myself ready. After she heads to school, I do a little bit of cleaning each morning. I MUST get that out of the way first before stamping. I can't leave dishes in the sink or an unmade bed. I've been a neat freak for many years but I'm slacking a bit now that I have a hobby ;)
Two of these cards were done over the past two days so I didn't do THREE cards already this morning. I'm sure after lunch I'll make more though!
I REALLY like how this first card came out. Sounds funny to hear myself say that but do you ever have a card you are really pleased with?
This card came together quite easily. I got to use the new MFT Ride 'em Cowgirl set. It's so cool! While searching in my DP drawer I found a smaller piece of Cosmo Cricket DP and thought it would work with this set. I used the large star punch too!
Stamps: MFT Ride 'em Cowgirl
Cardstock: Sage Shadow, Really Rust, WW and Cosmo Cricket DP
Inks: Adirondack Espresso, Choc Chip
Accessories: Copic Markers, Photo Corner Punch, Lg Oval Punch, Lg Star Punch, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Sponges, Dimensionals, Paper Snips
This morning on SCS was the Limited Supplies Challenge. You were to use an embellishment that you bought but wondered why oh why did I buy that....then it sat! Also you were to make a flower card. I think mine qualifies...the bird has flowers on it, the DP is floral and my embellishments are flowers! This also uses Beate's WSC41...it's a great sketch and I'm working on another.

Stamps: Always; Cardstock: Ruby Red, River Rock, WW and Ginger Blossom DP; Inks: Ruby Red; Accessories: Sponges, 2 way glue and glitter, glue dots, flower charms, Dimensionals

Earlier this week I recieved the newest Paper Pretties stamps. Sophia looks cute with this butterfly! I used the Sassy Circles under her feet. I stamped Sophia on a piece of Post It Note and cut it out. After stamping Sophia on my WW cardstock I masked her feet with the Post It Note and stamped the oval from Sassy Circles in River Rock.
This card uses Julee's Mojo30 sketch.

Stamps: Paper Pretties Flutter By and Sassy Circles
Cardstock: Blush Blossom, Barely Banana, WW and SEI dp
Inks: Adirondack Black, River Rock, Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Copic Markers, Ticket Punch, Dew Drops, May Arts Ribbon, Lg Corner Rounder, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!

Ways to Use it Challenge and a Sketch

Good Afternoon!
Sorry for posting a little later today. I had company this morning. My upline stopped by and we tried to brainstorm a little bit on our next big meeting. It's an inspiration challenge and if you visit my blog often you know I'm NOT good at those....I suppose that is why they call it a challenge! Anyway, we talked and caught up and got nothing stamped! It was nice though.
After working lunch program I went straight to work on these next two cards for todays Ways To Use It Challenge. It was called Just Spray It.
This first card using the Spritzer tool. LOL...something I have never used....it was still in the package :(
Since Stampin' Up! doesn't make markers for the In Colours I used Bashful Blue to spritz with. I think it looks okay. You stampers would notice the colour difference but I don't think most people would ;)
Stamps: Always
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Choc Chip, WW and Afternoon DP
Inks: Choc Chip, Bashful Blue, Soft Sky and Choc Chip Craft
Accessories: Clear EP, Lg Corner Rounder, Coluzzle, Paper Piercer, Three For You punch, 1 1/8", 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Dimesionals, Clear top from the Build A Brad, Spritzer Tool, Pearls
The technique I used on this next card was a simple one too. Just colour your images with markers and then spray with a water bottle. I sprayed the butterfly stamp a little too much so it ran a bit.

Stamps: Garden Whimsy
Cardstock: Regal Rose, WW, Bashful Blue, 3 Bugs in a Rug
Inks: Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Water Bottle, Wide Regal Rose Grosgrain, Dimensionals
Last night while watching the Oilers lose :( I worked on the sketch posted in the MFT forum on SCS. It looked like a fun sketch so I had to give it a go. While digging through my scrap drawer I found a small piece of this small piece of DP. I'm not sure I like my colour combo but I do like the design.
Stamps: MFT By the Seashore
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Pumpkin, WW, Misc DP
Inks: Adirondack Black, Creamy Caramel, Brocade Blue
Accessories: Copic Markers, Paper Piercer, Coluzzle, 1", 1 /4", 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow! I'll have a Paper Pretties card for you with the new stamp I recieved this week!

I'm sooooooooooooo excited right now and had to share it with you all!
This is the card I entered at All That Scraps for their CC Designs Contest.
Guess what???
I WON!!! I'm so freakin' excited right now!
Thanks to all who voted for me ;)
I'd made a very similar card to this for Beate's challenge a couple months back but changed it up a little. Added some extra colours and changed the layout of my paper and stars.
Now I'm off to work on the sketch for today on SCS and a Paper Pretties card. Just recieved the newest stamps...off to play....

SCS Colour Challenge

Happy Tuesday!
I had a few minutes this morning to work on todays Colour Challenge on SCS. It was using Basic Gray, Soft Sky and White. I have never used Grey at all. Had crack open a brand new pack.
These Papertrey stamps are so pretty! The layout is from a card I made a couple of weeks ago.
Stamps: Papertrey Out on a Limb
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Soft Sky, WW and Soft Sky Prints
Inks: Close to Cocoa, Soft Sky
Accessories: Paper flower and Dew Drop
This is a book I covered for the secretary at our school. She is new this year and she's been wonderful!

Thanks for stopping by today! Sorry I don't have more to show you.
Tomorrow is another day though ;)

EDIT to add: Notebook uses Scenic Route DP, American Crafts Ribbon, SU! Grosgrain, Prima Flowers, Scallop Punches, Chipboard covered with SU! Celery Craft and Heat and Stick Powder, Iridescent Ice Powder, Stamp set is called Full of Life and it is in the Occasions Mini.

Gift Set, Flap Cards and One Layer Card

Good Afternoon!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend!
Ours was quiet but very nice.
My parent's 39th anniversary is coming up in a couple of weeks and I've been trying to put a few things together for them. Thought I'd get the easy things out of the way first. I'd love to do a small scrapbook of Chloe for them and well scraping is not something I do...but I will try!
I'd covered this candle jar and candy jar earlier today. Thought I'd use todays TLC challenge on SCS to finish it off.
The challenge was a Flap Card. The tutorial was written by Rose Ann and you can find it on the Scor Pal site.
I made mine a little larger. Instead of cutting it 3.5 x 11. I started with 4.25 x 11. So I ended with a 4.25 square.
This is the top of the containers.
I did not do any stamping on this card. It's all done with the Sale A Bration Rub Ons. I LOVE those things. I wasn't sure if the Olive coloured ones would show on the Olive cardstock but they turned out okay.
Aren't these CC Designs Little Penguins the cutest? They are so adorable! This one is stamped in Brilliance Black and coloured with Copic Markers.
Lastly, I finally got Lauren's blog challenge done.
She asked us to make a one layer card and keep it to one corner. I had to pull out my fave watercolouring image....lol
I stamped Versafine Black on Papertrey White and coloured with an Aqua Painter and re-inkers.
Thanks for stopping by today!

A Mix of Cards

Happy Easter Sunday!
I hope everyone is enjoying the day with their loved ones. This year it's just Brian, Chloe and I. We are cooking a spiral honey ham right now and it smells soooooooooo good in here...YUM!
I've been busy stamping most of the day. I suppose that's one nice thing about it just being the three of us. We each have been able to play or read or work on our hobbies.
I'll be quick with my post.
This first card is for todays Featured Stamper on SCS. It is Amy aka Pickletree on SCS. I chose to CASE here card HERE.
This card is for both Beate's sketch #40 and Sharon's challenge on using round corners.
This card was a "just because" card....lol
It uses American Crafts DP and Verve Visuals Serenity Stamp Set.
This is another card "Just Because".
I had a small piece of BG Blush DP sitting in a pile. I liked that there was the bird on it. So I trimmed it up a bit. The cardstock is scored with my scor-pal.
I'm still trying to work on Lauren's challenge this weekend of a one layer card with something in a corner. I'm not the best at colouring but I'll get something done soon!
Also, I entered my first contest and the voting is going on right now....wish me luck! I've never entered a card for anything before....but you don't know if you would ever win if you don't try right?
Have a wonderful Easter and thanks for stopping by!

Tart & Tangy

Good Saturday Afternoon!
Chloe and I just got back from the Edmonton Oilers vs Colorado Avs game. It was an AWESOME game too! We won 7-5!! A lot to cheer about during that game! My throat hurts from screaming so much....haha!
This morning before heading to the game I had a chance to work on Jen's sketch. You can find it HERE on her blog.
I've been loving the Tart & Tangy set, as I'm sure you can tell. I haven't used the orange/lime/lemon stamp though. This sketch seemed perfect for it.
I'm not one to make a white based card very often but I do like the look of it. The sketch is flipped a bit. Instead of a tall card I turned it as I already had this piece of White cardstock cut.
Stamps: Tart & Tangy, Lots of Thoughts
Cardstock: White, Only Orange, Gable Green, YoYo Yellow, Summer Picnic DP
Inks: Same
Accessories:Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"Circle Punch, 1 1/4", 1 3/8"Square Punches, Dimesionals, Dollar store brads
A little while ago my friend, Angie, had posted how to make these Post It Note Key Chains on her blog. After she sent me one as a RAK I knew I'd have to make some. My other friend, Lisa, picked up some small post its from a local Dollarama.
Told you I love Tart & Tangy! Now I need more rings....off to Staples this week!

Stamps: Tart & Tangy
Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, WW
Inks: Real Red, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"circle punch, Key ring, Red Gingham, Real Red Grosgrain, May Arts Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by today!
I'm off to work on some sketches and challenges from yesterday and today!

Limited Supply Challenge Cards

Happy Good Friday!
Since it's a holiday we are all home today. We thought it'd be nice to all hang out together and maybe do some things around the house. Instead, Brian is playing his World of Warcraft on the MAC, Chloe has been playing in her room and on the laptop, I'm in the basedump STAMPING!
I did run out to a couple LSS that were open today....got tons of new American Crafts DP!! Can't wait to use some of that real soon!
These two cards are both for todays Limited Supply Challenge on SCS.
You were to make 2 to 4 cards using the same stamps, 3 cardstocks(white being one of them), 1 Designer Paper(double sided is a bonus) and you could use ANY embellishments. The idea was to see how you can get a different look from the same basic supplies.
I decided to use the MFT Serenity Now set. I had some of the Afternoon DP on the table from yesterdays card so I used that. Figured I would colour the images the same and use the same sentiment.
Stamps:MFT Serenity Now
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Choc Chip, WW and Afternoon DP
Inks: Adirondack Espresso, Choc Chip
Accessories: Copic Markers, Word Window Punch, Striped Wasabi Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals
Stamps:MFT Serenity Now
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Choc Chip, WW and Afternoon DP
Inks: Adirondack Espresso, Choc Chip
Accessories: Copic Markers, Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, 1"Circle Punch, Large Oval Punch, Silver Brads
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Some MFT and Paper Pretties

Happy Thursday!
I'm so happy it's the long weekend!
I had a chance this morning to work on a card for todays Ways to Use it Challenge. It was all about tags. Make a tag, make a card with a tag on it...you get the idea....lol
These metal tags are some that we picked up in Florida in 2007. I'd forgotten all about them until this morning! Don't you love when you find something new or almost new?!
Last night while watching Survivor, I actually coloured in a bunch of images with my copic markers. I had a different DP in mind when colouring this image but I think the For Peep's Sake DP works fine with it. The umbrella is stamped in Summer Sun and then Versamark. I embossed it with Clear Embossing Powder, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals.
Stamps: MFT Rain or Shine
Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Barely Banana, WW and For Peep's Sake DP
Inks: Adirondack Black
Accessories: Bluebird Grosgrain, Silver Elastic Cord, Metal Tags, Versamark and Clear Embossing Powder, Dimensionals, Copic Markers
This was another image I coloured last night. I still need to practice a bit with my Copic markers and shading...so don't look too closely ;)
The paper is from Occasions Mini and it's called Afternoon Tea.

Stamps: MFT Meet Me At The Cafe
Cardstock: Choc Chip, Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava, WW, Afternoon Tea DP
Inks: Adirondack Espresso, Choc Chip
Accessories: Ticket Punch, Word Window Punch, White Brads, Dimensionals, Small Corner Rounder, Copic Markers
Here is another Paper Pretties Card using the Sealed With A Kiss. I think this is the one I'll give to my parents. I can't decide which one so maybe I'll send them TWO ;)
Paper Pretties has released a couple more stamps but unfortunately I don't have them. You can see them HERE. They are called Sassy Circles and Flutter By.
I'm addicted to the Liquid Pearls! Hope I didn't overdue it on this card!
Stamps: Paper Pretties Sealed With a Kiss
Cardstock: Choc Chip, Pretty in Pink, WW and American Crafts DP
Inks: Adirondack Black
Accessories: Marvy Punches, Slit Punch, Choc Satin Ribbon, Liquid Pearls, Dimesionals
Thanks for stopping by today!
I hope you all enjoy this holiday weekend!

Easter Gift Set

Good Evening!
Two posts in one day. Hope I don't upset anyone!
I know my day will be super busy tomorrow and I will have other things to share but wanted to show you a little gift I'm giving to a couple of the ladies I work with.
I really wanted to use the new Easter Elegance Set from Verve Visual. It's amazing!
The cardstock is from Papertrey Ink and it's called Aqua Mist. So pretty!!! I also used Imaginisce For Peep's Sake Collection. I pulled out my sewing machine today and it was a good thing my Mom called so I could ask her how to change some settings. I wanted to add a few embellishments to the cards so I used Martha Stewart Ribbon, Primas, Heidi Swapp Jewels and some Liquid Pearls.

The boxes are from Martha Stewart and they were some I picked up before Christmas. I don't recall how much they were but they were on clearance for a STEAL ;)
I added a piece of Aqua Mist to the top and bottom after I had used the small corner rounder punch to make a scallop border. The box comes with a window and I didn't want to cover it up so I used the coluzzle to cut an oval in the DP.
The back of the box is plain except that I added the Jelly Bean Prayer to it.
You can find that prayer HERE.

Sketch Challenge 168

Happy Wednesday!
I don't have much time this morning so I'll just post the cards I made for todays Sketch Challenge on SCS. It is a fabulous layout! One I will definitely use again and again!
The first card is made with My Favorite Things stamp set called Hot Stuff. I don't know why but I'm always drawn to this Designer Paper from We R Memory Keepers Metallics when I use this stamp.
This card is all SU! I used the One of a Kind stamp set with the Berry Bliss DP. I even used All in a Row(with my SAMJ) and I actually got it fairly straight! Don't think I'll ever be as good with that stamp as Beate ;)
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you come by again tomorrow!
