Mixed Media Canvas

Happy Thursday!
Or is it? LOL!

This is my late day and for some reason I'm always wide awake at 4:30am. Sure makes for a LONG day!
Plus this is my full weekend to work. Monday seems so far away. While most of you dislike Monday morning, I'll be jumping for joy LOL!

Yesterday Chloe and I got crafty together. Not often does she like to get involved in anything artsy.
She's the reader and writer in our our house.
So when she said she wanted to do something with canvas, I thought, what the heck! Let's do this!

She doesn't want me to show what she's working on but I'll show you what was completed yesterday.
I started with a blank canvas and added a layer of Gesso.
After that dried I added some hexagon shapes with a stencil and modeling paste.
Rubbed some Baked Brown Sugar ink over it and added some swipes of aqua colour paint. Thinking it needed to be muted a bit I rubbed more of the Baked Brown Sugar ink on the entire canvas.
I die cut some MFT flowers and leaves and sponged them. Everything was attached with a glue gun. Afterward I decided to spritz the entire canvas with some pretty Angel Mist.

Thanks for stopping by!

Be Strong

Happy Monday!
We had a great weekend but it's back to work today.
I can't wait to see what "surprises" I will find after being away for two days....lol

Last night after dinner I finished a card I had started earlier in the day.
This time I got messy with some mixed media!
Always fun!

Using Iwona's Saturday Sketchbook #122 I created the card below.
There is something about this colour that I find soooooooo soothing.

You Are Capable of Wonderful Things

Happy Weekend!

Spring SEEMS like it's here in Lethbridge! I can't complain because we've had a fantastic winter really. Snow rarely stayed longer than a few days and this week we are expecting the temps to be in the 70's!

Brian stopped at the craft store in Calgary and picked me up a bunch of new supplies so I could give this Mixed Media a little more of a go. As much as I love trying new things....patience making a card is not one of my best qualities. I typically like to spend less than 30 minutes on one card. With the drying time between applications on the card below I managed to do a LOT of work around the house....lol

Jackie shared a tutorial on SCS on Layered Gesso Backgrounds. I mostly followed it ;)
