Get Crackin'

Happy Halloween!
First I'd like to wish my sister, Jennifer....a VERY Happy Birthday! Being born on Halloween wasn't the best thing when you were a kid...lol
Jen...I hope you have a wonderful 34th???
I have a card to share with you from yesterday's Ways To Use It Challenge of Get Crackin'
Since I don't own any crackle paints I decided to go the Cracked Glass route.
This Thomas Kinkade image seemed perfect!
I first stamped the image on Very Vanilla with Choc Chip ink before cutting it out with my Top Note Die. I then used some Versamark and 4 layers of Ultra Thick Embossing Powder. It was popped in the freezer for a bit and then I bent the paper to get the little cracks. It was a little warped so I cut another piece of choc chip cs with the top note and glued it to the back for stability. I think the rest is straight forward.
I think it turned out wonderfully. What do you think?
Stamps: Thomas Kinkade; Cardstock: Choc Chip, Very Vanilla and Bella Rose DP; Inks: Choc Chip and VersaMark; Accessories: Top Note Die, UTEE, Choc Satin Ribbon, Vanilla Grosgrain, Linen Thread, Dimensionals
I'm LOVING these snowman from MFT!! I think my favourite colouring is with Copics on Shimmery White cardstock. This was for the MFT sketch #54 on SCS.
Stamps: MFT A Scarf for Three; Cardstock: Tangerine, Bashful Blue, Shimmery White and Frosty Days DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Circle Nesties, Heidi Swapp Ghost Snowflake, Circle Punch, Dimensionals
Today was to be my turn to sneak peek a Storage Unit, Inks & More set but they haven't arrived yet :(
Be sure to see what the other girl's have done though!

Here is a card I made yesterday for the 200th SCS sketch challenge! Wow...hard to believe we have done 200! Well I haven't...skipped a few here and there....lol
This is a SU! only card.
I've spent most of the past two days working on some sneak peeks for upcoming releases. I want to get as much done as I can so I can start on my Dirty Dozen cards for November. One thing at a time YKWIM?
Also I have my first Christmas Stamp A Stack coming up in a couple of weeks. I have NO idea what I want to do with that. It'll be last minute(as always)...haha!
Don't forget to stop by the SUINK girl's blogs to see what they are sneak peekin'....I'm supposed to post a sample tomorrow....but no stamps yet :(

Colour Challenge Card and ATS challenge

Good Morning!
Well seems Chloe has a little bit of a cold/flu. Not sure if she will go to school today or not, will see how she is when she wakes up.
On Monday night Emily asked if some of the Dirty Girls could help make a sample for her Colour Challenge on SCS. I was a little scared when I saw Pixie Pink listed!
Not wanting to back down from a challenge I ran down and made this sample in about 15 minutes.
Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango and Pixie Pink
Stamps: Petals and Stems; Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, WW and Bella Rose DP; Inks: Kiwi, Tangerine, Pixie Pink and Black; Accessories: SU! scalloped edge punch, Mat pack and Paper Piercer, Dimensionals
It's Wednesday...time for another All That Scraps Challenge!
This week Jen challenged us to make one of those cool Pizza Boxes that Jen Del Muro came up with.
I used all three of AmyR's new stamp sets for my project. I made three little 3x3 cards to go inside the box and each was stamped with either a Christmas Sentiment or Verse on the inside.
Stamps: Amy's Christmas Sentiment, Christmas Verses, Build a Holiday; Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Soft Sky, WW and Misc DP; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, White Brads, Oval Nesties, Dimensionals
This week Design Team Members from Storage Unit, Inks & More will be sharing sneak peeks for the upcoming releases. I haven't gotten my stamps yet(downfall of waiting for customs) but be sure to check out what the other girls have for you!

Mojo Cards and Fabulous RAKS

Happy Tuesday!

Well yesterday Chloe came home from school early....not feeling so well. She was MAD as heck too...she didn't want to come home....they had French class in the afternoon and she was going to miss it....totally bummed her out! Hoping when she wakes up feeling much better this morning.
Julee had her Mojo sketch posted yesterday and I really wanted to use some new stamps I received from Crafty Secrets last week. In the first card I flipped the sketch for my image panel.

Stamps: Seaside; Cardstock: Old Olive, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Rose Red, WC paper and Jr Varsity DP; Inks: Black Stazon, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Rose Red, So Saffron, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa; Accessories: Aqua Painter, Circle Nesties, Dimensionals
Here is another card I made using Julee's Mojo sketch. This one is for a girlfriend...I know she'll get a kick out of the sentiment!

Stamps: Coffee and Tea; Cardstock: Old Olive, So Saffron, WW and Jr Varsity DP; Inks; Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Circle Nesties, Primas, Sparkle Brad, Dimensionals
Check out this awesome blue and yellow RAK I received from Carole Burrage...a fellow Dirty Girl! Many months ago....I mentioned to Carole how much I LOVED this card...it's really perfect...stamps, layout, colours....well anyway....she was kind enough to send it to me! She even used some of my fave Designer Paper from Imaginisce!!

A couple of weeks ago I joined the SCS Wish RAK club. I have so many images that I hope I can send/exchange with others! Kitty Anderson aka OregonStamper sent me this wonderful Welcome RAK. Love the layout of her card! The front flap opens and that is where she wrote a message to me....so cute!

This next RAK comes from Julia Betemps from Little Paper Shop. Love the copper coloured jewels that she added to this card...they are so pretty! Thanks Julia...brought a smile to my face!
It was such a pleasure to work with Julia and the other girls at the Little Paper Shop. I'm going to miss playing along but I'll keep up with their blogs!

Think Pink

Good Morning!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
Mine was busy stamping but unfortunately I can't show you it just yet. Yesterday I spent the afternoon making 21 bookmarks for my girlfriend Michelle. If I show you here, then it won't be a surprise for her ;)
I can show you these though!
With this being Breast Cancer Awareness Month I decided to make some quick little M & M goodie bags for some girlfriends. Pretty straight forward but if you have any questions be sure to holler!
Stamps: MFT Think Pink; Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, WW and Sweet Always DP; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Top Note Die Cut, Bags, Dimensionals
Today is the release of AmyR's stamps at All That Scraps. I forgot to show you the inside of the card I did the other day....sorry! I stamped the inside with the Christmas Versus set.
Thanks for stopping by!

Just Peachy...

Good Sunday Morning!
It's Georgia Peach DP day! LOL! All three cards use it ;)
I started out working on the Inspiration Challenge(card at the bottom) and then figured I'd just keep working with the Georgia Peach dp. It's such an awesome designer paper.
My first card uses Jen's sketch. I recently received the new MFT stamps and really wanted to use one of them! I altered the sketch a little to fit my image. Don't you think this DP works well with this snowmen stamp?? Cute eh?!
Stamps: A Scarf for Three; Cardstock: Old Olive, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Shimmery White and Georgia Peach DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Circle Punches, Heidi Swapp Snowflakes, Dimensionals
Have you been to Taylor's Blog lately? She released some new stamps the other day. I ordered them and can't wait to get them but in the meantime I wanted to play with her sketch. I used some of my favourite cupcake stamps by Inkadinkado.
Stamps: Inkadinkado Birthday Cupcakes; Cardstock: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Old Olive, Shimmery White and Georgia Peach DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Circle Punches, Misc Buttons, Linen Thread, White Brads, Dimensionals
Saturday's there is an Inspiration Challenge on SCS. Normally I shy away from these ones but figured why not give it a go~! THIS is the piece I chose to use. I WOULD have used my Flight of the Butterfly IF I had found it but it's still missing :(
Stamps: Garden Whimsy; Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Regal Rose, Shimmery White and Georgia Peach DP; Inks: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose; Accessories: SU! scalloped edge punch, Mat pack and paper piercer, 5/8" Regal rose ribbon, Dimensionals

A card, a 3D project and a sneak peek!

Good Morning!
I've got a few things to show you again today so please be sure to scroll down to see them all :)
This week Lynda challenged us Our Creative Corner girls to make something 3D that's Handmade for the Holidays.
I decided on making one of these cute little gift bag/pouch to hold the Halloween Popcorn.
This is a SU! only project!!
Since this is a gift for someone I know, I took the plastic wrapper off the popcorn before wrapping a piece of Designer Paper around it. Looks prettier this way ;)
Hop over to the OCC blog to see who is guest hosting this week and what goodies may be up for grabs if you play along!
Want to see the other girls projects close up?
Stamps: Batty for You; Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, WW and Ghostly Greetings DP; Inks: Black and Pumpkin; Accessories: Scalloped Punch, 1", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" circle punches, Dimensionals, Velcro dots
There isn't much stamping on this next card but I'm really happy with how it came out!!
It's made using Lauren's sketch. When I first saw the sketch, it scared me...lol....I wasn't sure WHAT I was going to do with little squares.
Be sure to stop by all the other girl's blogs on Lauren's Saturday Sketch Team:
Stamps: Verve's All About You; Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, WW and Washington Apple DP; Inks: Pumpkin Pie; Accessories: 3/4" circle punch, Martha butterfly punch, Paper piercer, Misc buttons, Linen thread, Dimensionals
Yesterday you saw a sneak peek of a snowman card that I made with some of Amy's New stamps from All That Scraps. Today I have another card to share. This one uses Beate's Weekend Sketch(with a slight change to the layering). Here I have used Amy's Build A Holiday again and also her Christmas Sentiments. Both sets will be available on October 27th.

Good Friday Morning!

It's the weekend!!! I'm so happy except that we are expecting SNOW possibly...ugh! Yucky!

This morning I have a sneak peek of a new set by AmyR called Build a Holiday. It will be available at All That Scraps on October 27th.

Stop by the other ATS DT blogs to see what they have to show off too!

I'll be back later today with some more cards but first I need to go help with the Pizza Lunch at Chloe's school.

I'm hoping to work on the LSC, Beate Sketch and the MFT sketch that Cindy posted...wow eh...tons to do!

Thursday 23 October 2008

Good Thursday Morning!

Good Morning!

Did you happen to stop by the OCC blog yesterday to see Julee's mid-week challenge?

I decided to make a second card using her Vintage Values technique.

This is almost a SU! only card, except I got lazy and decided to use the butterfly punch instead of cutting some out....lol

Stamps: Best Yet, Amazing; Cardstock: Really Rust, Choc Chip, WW and Autumn Vine DP; Inks; Choc chip, Creamy caramel, Sage shadow, Really rust; Accessories: Sponges, Martha butterfly punch, Choc poly twill, Dimensionals

Wednesday also brought the Sketch Challenge on SCS. After doing a little bit of running around in the morning for school stuff, I came home to make a quick card before heading to the school to work.

I wanted to use a stamp from SUINK's Vote for Me that I hadn't inked up yet.

It's PINK week on SCS but I couldn't quite get pink to work here....lol

We had our election here in Canada last week but I'll send this off to Denise at SUINK to use.

Stamps: Vote for Me; Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, WW, Core'dinations Blue and Maine Blueberry DP; Inks: Memento Black, Old Olive; Accessories: Copics, Large Star Punch, 1/2" and 3/4" circle punch, Dimensionals, Mat pack and Paper piercer

Challenges!

Good Wednesday Morning!

Wow I have a LOT to share this morning so please scroll down to see it all. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this post doesn't look all wonky when it goes live...I've edited about 5 times now....lol

Wednesday's tend to be busy days with a couple of my Design Teams doing challenges plus this week we have a mid-week Our Creative Corner Challenge.

This first card I am sharing with you is from yesterday's Colour Challenge of Choc Chip, Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss.

This is a SU! only card.

Stamps: Pocket Silhouettes; Cardstock: Choc Chip, Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, WW and Bella Rose DP; Inks: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Piroutte, Choc Chip; Accessories: SU scalloped edge punch, Mat pack and Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

We have a mid-week challenge for you from the OCC! Julee has challenged us to a Vintage Verve card. What's that you ask? Hop on over to Our Creative Corner and see what it's all about. You never know what surprises may be in store for you there!!

For my image panel I first stamped the flower in Creamy Caramel and then Choc Chip. I then sponged the panel with Creamy Caramel, then Close to Cocoa and then Choc Chip on the edges.

I love the look of a monochromatic card but don't do them very often. I'm more of a colourful card person. I thought these colours would be nice for a Sympathy card that I was in need of.

Stamps: Serenity; Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, WW and Bella Rose DP; Inks: Choc chip, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa; Accessories: SU! scalloped edge punch, Sponges, Word Window Punch, Small oval punch, Choc Satin Ribbon, Primas and Vintage Brad

I've got an All That Scraps challenge for you now. This week it's a Colour Challenge of Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive and Sahara Sand.

Christmas was my first thought, so I ran with it! Isn't this tree from CC Designs Sugarplums Christmas Scene cute?! It's so fun to colour!!

I didn't have a Christmas sentiment so I used a SU! hostess set called Best Yet.

We hope you will play along with us at ATS! If you upload to the gallery please use keyword ATSDTC23.

Stamps: Sugarplum's Christmas Scene, Best Yet(SU!); Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Sahara Sand, WW and Haiku dp; Inks: Adirondack Black, Bravo Burgundy; Accessories: Copics, SU! scalloped edge punch, Mat pack and paper piercer, 5/8" old olive ribbon, Dimensionals

Storage Unit, Inks & More has a challenge out today too! Whatchadoin' Wednesday is about Treats for our Sweets!

Do you still need a last minute treat holder for Halloween? Already done with that, how about a special treat for a loved one. Could be cookies, candy, cupcake any type of sweet treat and a creative way to present it.

This is what I came up with!

We are trying not to do sweets in this house and I wasn't about to buy some for this project so I pulled out some Pumpkin Seeds ;) This was a super easy holder to make. A 4.25 x 11 piece of cardstock. Scored at 4.5, 5.5 and 10. I used my nesties to cut a hole in the front so you can see the clear bag full of pumpkin seeds. Easy peasy! Check out SUINK for more details and to see what the other girls have created!

Stamps: Giving Thanks; Cardstock: More Mustard, Tangerine Tango, WW; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Circle Punches, Oval punch, Designer label punch, SU scalloped edge punch, nesties, Choc poly twill ribbon, Dimensionals, plastic bag

Happy Holidays FS card

Good Morning!

Hope you all have been doing well the past couple of days. Thanks for the emails and notes!
On Sunday afternoon I worked on a card while I watched the Nascar race. This card was made for the Featured Stamper on SCS.
I CASED this card of Emily's. She made hers a shaker card with sand but I ran out of time to do mine with snow/beads.
This is a set I'll never get rid of! I just love these snowmen!
Stamps: Flaky Friends; Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Bashful Blue, Close to Cocoa, WW and Frosty Days dp; Inks: Black, Kiwi, Tangerine, Bashful, Cocoa, Ruby Red, Saffron; Accessories: Blender Pen, Tangerine and Kiwi Ribbon, Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

Happy Saturday!

So any big plans for the weekend? I am going to try to get some stuff done around the house. Winter will be here before I know it and my yard still isn't prepped. I'm also thinking of taking a blog break...I'm in a funk and it's making me grumpy...I don't like being grumpy...lol
This week at Our Creative Corner, Lynda shared a fabulous sketch with us! Who doesn't like a good sketch?!
Other than the white brads(wish SU! made them) this is a SU! only card as is the one below too ;)
Hop on over to the OCC to see what surprises may be in store for you this week!!
I know the girls have created wonderful samples for this sketch.
Be sure to check out their blogs too!

Since I already had out the supplies to work on my OCC sketch card I thought it would be fun to try and use them for the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS yesterday.
The limits were as follows. There must be blue, eyelets, ribbon and one side of a designer paper. No other tools were allowed to be used...ack! Well I guess I should be grateful that we could use some DP right?! You know I've had these Fresh Favorites I eyelets for a long time...it was GREAT to use them and they matched pretty well!

Lauren is back with her Saturday Sketches! Did you all see her exciting news last week? She is designing templetes for PTI!

Earlier in the week, Lauren has shown some of her PTI samples this week and how she created quick and easy Christmas cards that could be mass produced. Now I don't normally mass produced anything but this year I may just need to do a little of that. So....I ran with Lauren's idea and made a set of 4 of this card. It has a little bit of dimension but should fit in a regular envelope and not require extra postage in Canada.
Stop by the other Saturday Sketch girls blogs to see what they have created too!

My SU! order finally arrived...I've never waited so long before! First thing I did was grab a piece of scrap and use this top note die cut. Good Wednesday Morning!

Happy October 15th!
It's Dirty Dozen reveal day!! You should pop on over to SCS to see who the newest Dirty Girls are. You must be a Fan Club member to see the gallery though...sorry :(
Yesterday Emily gave us a colour challenge which as soon as I saw black listed there, I knew it would be a challenge. I LOVE seeing what others can do with black cardstock but I always struggle with it. So best thing I could do was keep it to a minimum...lol
I used one of my fave SU! sets...Upsy Daisy. This is a SU! ONLY card.

Do you see how I was inspired...rofl....remember inspiration pieces aren't my fave ;) but I'm always up for a challenge! I've used Diane's new set called Annabelle which you can get at All That Scraps.
