Red Flag Racin' means I get to stamp!

I normally don't like when there is a rain delay during a Nascar race but today....it worked out okay for me! I was able to get two cards done for Sherry and Jeanne's Just Because We Wanna Challenge! This week it is a layout...funny how you can make such different cards with the same layout! The first card uses the Apple Cider DP with the True Friend Stamp Set.
The second card uses Scenic Route DP and Zoofari Stamp Set. I'm almost out of the Scenic Route DP and I'll be sad if I can't find it anymore :(
I think the cards are pretty straight forward so I won't bother listing the supplies today. I've got about 20 minutes before we go green again! I'll grab a late lunch now!

Challenge Cards

Wow! What a productive day I had! Got the house cleaned, laundry done, finished my errands! I took Chloe to register for curling today as well. She will be playing on a team called Little Rocks. Cute eh?! I'll be sure to take some pics of her and post them when we have our first practice!
This card below is of Beate's new tutorial on file folder cards. I think that is what it is called ;)
I wanted to use some more of my Outlaw DP. This card will work well for a man. Something I don't have much of really. For years my Dad got flower cards from me....haha
Be sure to check out the tutorial on Beate's Fresh & Fun.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Wanted and All in a Row
Cardstock: Choc Chip, Creamy Caramel, Shimmery White and Outlaw DP
Inks: Choc Chip and Creamy Caramel
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Antique Brads, Cream Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder Punch and Sponges
Finally I used my Flaky Friends set! YAH! I've wanted this set for so long. Most of you know I am a HUGE snowman fan...collect them and I love to collect stamps too! It was the saying I most wanted in this set though. I have some other great friends that collect snowmen too and this will come in handy for cards to give them.
This card was created for Jen's blog Stamping Therapy. Today we were to use Always Artichoke and Bravo Burgundy. I really like the rich colours together. I don't often use Bravo Burgundy so I was happy to pull it out today.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Flaky Friends
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla and Wintergreen DP
Inks: Black Stazon, Artichoke, Burgundy, Orange, Rose Red, Bordering Blue and So Saffron
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Antique Brads, MayArts Ribbon

Bag/Purse and Cards

Today has been another one of those hectic days that I don't know where the time has gone! My friend, Sandy, was asking WHERE my blog post was for today....LOL...so here it is ;)
This is a project I started last night when I downloaded the template for this bag/purse off of the OnStage Magazine. I REALLY liked how they used the round tab punch by the handles! Thought it looked GREAT!
This paper is from Tres Jolie. I like it because it is nice and thick and holds up very well for this sort of project. After making the bag/purse I used up some of the pieces to make cards with. Nothing fancy.

Now I'm off to Costco and hopefully I'll still have some energy and time to get working on my usual weekend blog challenges! Have a safe and happy weekend!

So excited!

Yesterday Dawn Griffith asked if I could help make a template for this box. Since I had her instructions I thought I'd give this a go yesterday but I ran out of time as always! Angie and Dawn did an awesome job with this box! Check their blogs Dawn and Angie for the template.
I made four cards to go in the box and still have a little bit of this BG Blush Designer Paper left, so I'll probably make a couple more. These seed templates that I used, I got from someones blog...can't remember who it was. Will hunt it down this afternoon and let you know! I really wanted the Snowman Seeds Template and these ones were on the same page.
So do you think this set is nice enough to give away?
I by accident cut the WRONG ends off and had flaps on the wrong ends...BUT it seems to have worked out....I took some pics of what I did to put my box together. You can click the pics to make it bigger.

ETA: Thanks Lynn for helping me remember where I got these seed packet templates!!! Was searching all afternoon yesterday with no luck...haha

You can find them at KatyDidCreations...go check out her site!

Sundays Featured Stamper

I don't normally participate in the Featured Stampers Challenge on Sunday's on SCS...but when I saw whose gallery it was....I HAD to! I love Kristina's work! For the card below I CASED her card found HERE.
I didn't leave enough room for a sentiment so I used the Merry & Bright since it's so small! This was the first time I have used the textured CS and I LOVE it!

I loved the look of Kristina's card HERE. I didn't bring enough dimensionals upstairs and I was too lazy to go get more so I didn't 3D the center panel but I think it looks OK...don't you?
I'm loving this new Wintergreen DP too! So I used it again for this card. This would be a GREAT card to make at my SAS next month. Will consider it I think!

Chit Chat

It's been a CRAZY day around here! Too much action in the neighbourhood. Call me nosey but when there are tons of police cars racing through the school zone when it's dismissal time, I want to know why! LOL!
Turns out the house behind us is NOT such a nice house....LOL...bad news! Anyway, the police are watching the little hoodlums! haha
Now I sit and wait for Brian to get home from work so I can open the TWO boxes from SU! It's been killing me all day....but he did pick out tons of stuff for HIMSELF to order! Oh and he PAID for it too! $462 after my discount....rofl
So once I see what we ordered together, I'll get busy making Beate's sketch, Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS and Desperate Stampers new sketch for today!

Make and Take for my Open House and some Chit Chat

Well I made it through my first BPA meeting (barely)....
Yesterday was full of highs and lows....
The day started off good. I got my ironing done and put away then I realized I hadn't mailed a birthday parcel...oooppss....
I decided I wanted to do an open house but quickly realized my order won't be here in time so I'll have to make do with what I have....
Brian came home with our Oiler hockey tickets for this year...YAH! I'm excited...except now I need to find a sitter for the weekday games...lol
Then we had our BPA meeting....another low spot....but I'll leave it at that....
Onto this little picture!
On Saturday I am going to have all the girls that have ordered something from me in the past year to stop by and make this quick little set! I think it turned out quite well. I kept it simple enough that they should finish it in no time but be happy with the end result. The 2, 5, 7, 10 box can be found at SCS in the Resource Project Section. The little card is a 3 x 3. I thought it would be nice to give with the box.

Jen70's blog challenge

So far today I've only had time to make ONE card...shocked? I know that I am....LOL
When this day started I didn't think we had too much to do. After doing some of our shopping errands today, we ended up coming home and re-arranging Chloe's bedroom. Since winter is almost here we thought we should move her bed. It was OVER the heat register....haha....Then I helped go through her books and arrange them on her bookshelf.
This card is the first one I did for Jen70's blog Stamping Therapy. You were to make a witchy card. It didn't have to be a witch, just something to do with a witch. So legs worked for me!
Tomorrow while watching Jeff Gordon WIN ;) the race....I will work on Jen and Beate's sketch challenges. Oh and I think that Jeanne and BadSherry will have their challenge up too...oh what a fun filled day I will have!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend so far!

Sketch and a Clipboard

YAH! It's the weekend! I LOVE weekends...as I'm sure many of you do too!
There are always a ton of different blog challenges going on from Friday to Sunday. I look forward to doing as many of them as I can.
This card is from Desperate Stamper's Blog. She is doing 27 sketches in 27 days. I haven't done any others yet but plan to back track if I get some extra time ;)
Supplies Used;
Stamp Set: Season of Joy
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Purely Pomegranate, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, WW and Soft Sky Prints Paper
Inks: Wild Wasabi, Purley Pomegranate, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky
Accessories: 7/8", 1"Circle Punches, Double Stitched Ribbon in Bayou and Pomegranate
Last year I had made a ton of these little clipboards for Xmas presents. I never made myself one. Thought I'd do that today! I like how it turned out. I am going to put a big magnet on the back so I can attach it to the side of the fridge. Those little flowers stuck in the cork are little push pins from a dollar store...so cute eh?! The chipboard letters are also from the Dollarama. You get tons of them for a buck and they have sparkles on them to boot! Can't remember the paper as it was little pieces in my box of scraps.

WT Challenge

Wow! What a nice day I've had so far today! It's been a lazy day really. Did a little shopping after dropping Chloe at school this morning. Came home to do a little crafting and organizing of my craft area. Picked up some little stacking containers to store a bunch or embellishments Brian had picked up.
This book is one of thoe $1 books from Michael's. Todays Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS was to use spirals in your work. I decided to make a book for one of the ladies at the school. I had never made anything for her yet. I really like how it turned out!
Supplies:
Stamps: None
Cardstock: Certainly Celery and DCWV Pocket of Posies Stack
Inks: None
Accessories: Spiral Punch, MayArts Ribbon, Bazzill Wings Flowers, Crystal Brads, Misc Chipboard Letters
These next two pictures are of little sets I made for Chloe's two teachers. I recovered a composition book, did a beaded pen and made Post It Note books. I used Basic Grey Papers.
I added some tabs to the pages but left them blank. Figured they could write in what they wanted.

Sketch Challenge

I was so excited that I would have time this morning to stamp UNTIL I saw how dreary it is out there and the basement is chilly....But I put on the furnace and my slippers and headed down there...haha....I need my mittens outside today....it's only 5C or 40F....but then factor in the wind....it's around freezing! So all of you STILL enjoying the heat and complaining...you COULD have MY weather....rofl
Today on SCS was the Sketch Challenge. This was a nice simple sketch, something I would definitely use again!
I didn't add any sentiment on the first card so it could be used for anything really. Then I needed to make a masculine thank you card for a friend.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: True Friend
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, WW and Cutie Pie DP
Inks: Celery Classic, Bashful Blue Craft Ink
Accessories: OnBoard Blossoms Chipboard, 1 1/4"Circle Punch, Soft Subtles Brad, White Organdy Ribbon, Bashful Blue Grosgrain Ribbon and Dimensionals

I am hoping to still get some other stamping in today. There is still a bonus challenge on SCS for a round card designed by Beate! Tried one before but it didn't look right but I'll give it a go again today!

Tuesday 11 September 2007

Nothing new yet to post....

Whew!
What a day! So glad that the school part is over, NOW I can craft something! Today was picture day at the school and I always volunteer to help the photographer. It helps when you know most of the kids names ;)
I think my friend, Michelle, is right. This school thing is interfering way too much with my crafting time....LOL
I do have a couple of things I want to get done tonight. I'd really like to make something for Chloe's new teachers. She has two of them this year. So when I figure out exactly what I'm making and get it done....I'll be back to post...but for now....I got NOTHIN' haha
Sure hope you all are having a great day though!
ETA:
OK so I did do "stuff" tonight but I can't post it....I am in a RAK exchange on Jen's Pieces of Me blog and we can't post our RAK things until the other person receives it. I just finished my partners gifts. So I'll post something tomorrow....lol
I'll have the day to myself!!! YAH!

RAK, TLC Challenge and CrissCross Cards

OH OH OH! What a FANTASTIC mail day today!!! LOOK LOOK LOOK what Angie sent me! I got one of her notebooks and her grocery list pads she made! They are amazing, aren't they??? You should really check out her blog HERE. She has a tutorial on there for it! Thank you so much Angie!!! I've got this HUGE grin on right now....lol
On SCS today the challenge was Try a New Technique. You were supposed to use pencil crayons and gamsol. I know on this card there isn't a whole lot of colouring but I really wanted to do Beate's CrissCross Card tutorial off of SCS. You can find the tutorial HERE and the TLC133 Challenge HERE.

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Delight in Life
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate, WW and Cutie Pie DP
Inks: Black Stazon, Prismacolour Pencils
Accessories: Spring Flower Bouquet Punch, SU! Scallop Punch, Round Tab Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Gamsol, Celery Grosgrain Ribbon
I loved this tutorial so much! I HAD to make another card. Since I tend to have BIG bubbly writing I figured I can put another piece of WW cardstock on the back side of the pull out for MORE writing! Thanks for the GREAT, EASY to FOLLOW Tutorial Beate!

Sunday 9 September 2007

Hope you like Bashful Blue!

I LOVE Bashful Blue but not sure how many of you do! Today I had a few challenges I wanted to get done and a couple actually overlap one another. Jen from Stamping Therapy wanted us to use Bashful Blue on our cards. Jen from i{heart}2stamp had a sketch to do. Then Jeanne from Inky Paws had a challenge Just Because We Wanna... to use Glitter! So my cards are sort of combined.
This first one is of Jen i{heart}2stamps layout challenge HERE and I used Bashful Blue so it qualifies for Jen from Stamping Therapy's challenge.
This next card measures 5.25 x 5.25 and it's got GLITTER and it's Bashful Blue! YAH! Another combo challenge. You can see InkyPaws challenge HERE and Stamping Therapy's HERE.
This last card was made with some of the leftovers sitting on my table! It's a little 3 x 3 card...these things are so darn cute eh?!

All of the above cards use the same basic supplies. Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Shimmery White Cardstocks. Along with some of last years Retired Xmas papers. I used the Merry and Bright set from the Holiday Mini.
