Happy Halloween and SC148

First thing I want to say today is HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sister JENNIFER! Hope that your day is extra special!
Well I don't know about the rest of you, but I'll be glad when this day is over. I love Halloween but I dread going out Trick or Treating! It's always so chilly here. One BONUS this year....we have NO SNOW!! YAH! So I'll bundle up, take myself a hot chocolate and head out around 6 pm...done and home by 7...rofl!
Today on SCS is the Sketch Challenge! I LOVE this day the most! This is a nice, clean, simple design! Great for everyday cards that you need to whip up in a hurry ;)
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Priceless
Cardstock: So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Rose Red, WW and Cutie Pie DP
Inks: So Saffron, Rose Red, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Black Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
I loved this snowman set from last years hostess level 1! I have used this stamp many many times in the last year! This ribbon is from Martha Stewart...it's so pretty! Easy to work with too!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: The World Over
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Soft Sky, Confetti White and PebblesInc DP
Inks: Black Stazon, Blue Bayou, Soft Sky, Night of Navy, Real Red, Summer Sun, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue
Accessories: AquaPainters, Dimensionals, Marth Stewart Ribbon-Cloud

Hope you all have a FANTASTIC HALLOWEEN! Be safe!

SCS Colour Challenge

Oh my goodness is it ever chilly here today! I sent Chloe to school in her winter jacket! I need to pull my mittens out and wear them tomorrow for sure! My hands were freezing while I was out on supervision at school today! I should be setting a good example for the kids...lol
Today is the Colour Challenge on SCS. I like all these colours but never would have put them all together before this. Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and So Saffron. I had wanted to do a Christmas card with them(as it's my goal to do one a day) but I just could not make it work. I have seen a lot of GREAT ones in the gallery today though. So I'll give it another go later on.
I'm going to need a baby card again soon. We have a couple of teachers expecting! I thought this card would suit either a boy or girl...or at least I hope so!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Wild About You, Nice and Narrow
Cardstock: Temp. Turq., Real Red, So Saffron, WW
Inks: Temp. Turq., So Saffron
Accessories: CB dry embossing folder, Red and Turq. Grosgrain Ribbon, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Photo Corner Punch, Stampin Dimensionals
I remember when I first got this Make A Wish Set from GinaK!!! I used it often but then it got pushed back because of all the other holidays that are coming up. What better colours to use for a child's birthday! So fun!
I wanted to keep this simple. Mostly because I was running out of time before having to leave for the school. I think I'll add some glitter to the stars ;)
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Make A Wish by GinaK, Nice & Narrow(star shape)
Cardstock: Temp. Turq., Real Red, So Saffron, Confetti White
Inks: Black Stazon, Real Red, So Saffron, Temp. Turq.
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Stampin Dimensionals

Tomorrow is Halloween! Are you all ready?! I will put up my blow up stacking pumpkins in the afternoon. Last year it was too windy and cold -15C to bother...lol
I think Brian is taking Chloe Trick or Treating and I'll hand out the candy! YAH! I get to stay warm ;)

TLC140 and a Baby Card

Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! It was quite nice here all weekend and we are enjoying it while it lasts! I still need to get out and clean up my hedge out front....it's such a trash collector! LOL
This card below is for todays Try a New Technique Challenge on SCS. It was cracked glass....such a pretty technique!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Stem Silhouettes
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, WW and Basic Grey Figgy Pudding DP
Inks: Old Olive, Always Artichoke, Ruby Red, VersaMark
Accessories: Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Artichoke Grosgrain Ribbon, Glassy Glaze Enamel
One of the ladies at work became a Grandmother again last week. We wanted to give her a card so this is what I made for her. I had some Basic Grey Oh! Boy left. I combined that with the elephant stamp from the Wild About You set. Also used the Circle of Friendship for the sentiment. Wish I had known the baby boy's name so I could have personalized it with a letter or something.

More cards....

Oh how I LOVE Sundays! It's a day I can catch up on things around the house, stamp, watch the race and today is extra special because the Oilers play again tonight....we desperately need a win! Thank goodness Jeff Gordon ROCKS in Nascar! ;0)
We have to leave for curling in a little bit and I'll try and get some pics today to share with you...sometimes they are way down on the rink and it's too hard. If I weren't so whimpy, I'd walk out onto the ice to get some pics...but it's COLD in there!
OK....as for my cards below...
This one is for Jen from i{heart}2stamp's sketch for this weekend. As I've mentioned before, I really like this colour combo of Wild Wasabi, Real Red and So Saffron. These snowmen make me smile!
Today on SCS is Featured Stamper day and it's NiteStamper. WOW you should check out her gallery!!! Amazing! While you are looking...check her blog out too. You won't be disappointed!
The card I cased from her is here. I wanted to make a Christmas card. I changed the colours, stamp, embellishments.
Sherry posted the Just Because We Wanna Challenge on her blog this morning. It was a nice simple sketch! I love those. It is great when I can use up the paper that was in front of me already! I'm trying hard not to waste anything anymore ;)

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Blog Sketches and Challenges

Hey there!
I don't have much time now, as I sat around stamping for a couple of hours...lol Brian will be home shortly and I haven't a clue what we will have for dinner! Take out sounds great! :)
I wanted to do Lauren's sketch today so I made a card to go with this Pringles tin I decorated last night. I needed a little Halloween gift for Brian to take to work for a co-workers son. I'll let Chloe fill it up with candy...she'll love doing that! I had wanted to do Lauren's pop open belly band BUT could not find the magnets at my LSS today. Will try another store tomorrow. For now I did without. I realized when I stuck the black and orange ribbon on, that it was too darn low but it was STUCK good and I couldn't take it off...so there it sits! Thanks Lauren for a great sketch! I'll let you know when I do the pop open one.
Since I had this SU! Halloween paper out I gave Beate's Z-fold card another go! I really do like this fold! It's cool!
I don't know what I'm going to do when winter ends and I can't use my snowman stamps for a bit...although I still have 6 more months of winter...or there about! HAHA!
Jen70 had her weekly challenge on her blog, Stamping Therapy, posted today. You were to use alphabets on your card. So I decided to spell JOY...using the snowman as an O. I think I'm going to re-do this one using my fave colour combo right now(Wild Wasabi, So Saffron, Real Red).

Well girls....have yourselves a GREAT night! It's hockey night for us....Go OILERS!

Stamp: Stampendous

Blog Challenges and Halloween Bags

I'll use it again soon! Be sure to check out Jen's blog here! Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: A Tree for All Seasons and Circle of Friendship
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Really Rust, River Rock, Very Vanilla and Apple Cider DP
Inks: Timber Brown Stazon, River Rock, Really Rust, Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, Pumpking Pie, Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip

Stamp Sets: Bronc Buster and Stem Sayings

Chloe and I finally wrapped up the Halloween treat bags for her class party next week! WHEW! What a dilemma that was, trying to figure out what to use. In the end we decided on something really simple since the kids only RIP it open and toss the bags in the garbage! Oh well, the few hours of work it took to make all of these will be worth the smile on their faces when the see can candy! Sorry for the box picture but I was too lazy to pull them all back out.

Oh my goodness! The weather here today is BEAUTIFUL!!!! It's in the 20's C or 70's F! YAH!

Birthday card

Gosh isn't the month of October just flying by??!! I can't believe it's only another week until Halloween...YIKES! Soon that will mean snow for us...ugh!
On that note, I thought I'd better make another bright and cheery card. Whenever I'm needing that pick me up, I always grab this Designer Paper by Junkitz. I just LOVE it! Don't you?!
I wanted to do the Colour Challenge on SCS today but it was some grey colour again. I don't have grey nor do I like grey...so I skipped it!
Supplies Used:
Stamp sets: Just Like You and Circle of Friendship
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Real Red, WW and Junkitz DP
Inks: Real Red, Soft Sky, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8", 1 1/4", 1/2" Circle Punches, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Dimensionals
Today I got a few girls together and we decided to have a monthly card club at my house. We will meet the third Wednesday of every month. We'll make 5 cards each time. I'm sure we all need birthday, anniversary, thinking of you....those sorts of things. This will be a good way for all of us to stock pile them!! I'm really excited about it! My first club! YAH!
I've also got another SAS coming up at my house on the 10th of November so it's time to start creating some new cards. I'll get on that this weekend ;)
I've got to go BBQ now...while the weather is still nice enough! It's hockey night tonight too!
Go OILERS!

Stitching on cards and a CUTE box!

Wow! I'm having a hard time keeping up with challenges from around the bloggin' world and from SCS! I did manage to get a couple things done though and I'll continue to plug along with the others!
This card was created for Jeanne and Sherry's Just Because We Wanna Challenge on Sundays. This week's challenge was to use stitching on cards. It could be REAL or FAUX stitching. So I went down to the basement, dug out the sewing machine, dusted it off and gave it a whirl!! I rather like how it turned out...the paper is some new Basic Grey Figgy Pudding and the stamp set is Flaky Friends.
This next box was a challenge on SCS today! I LOVE learning new things!!!
Isn't this box just the cutest????? I had York Peppermint Patties in the cupboard so I made it a Christmas theme. It would be super cute with Halloween goodies inside as well ;)
When you flip it open you can see through an acetate piece, that piece flips up so you can access whatever you put inside! This box can be found on SCS here. Be sure to check it out!!

MFT boxes and Jen's sketch

Hey girls!
Hope everyone is having an enjoyable weekend!
Yesterday I had my first Christmas SAS and it went very well! The girls finished their 10 cards in about 3 hours....we stop to eat and chat....stamp....eat...stamp some more! HAHA!
I'm off to curling in another 20 minutes but wanted to get my pics up here while blogger was being nice today.
This first box I made as a 2, 5, 7, 10 box. I cut it in half, then added a piece of acetate that was three inches tall and scored it at 2, 5, 7 and 10 as well. Not sure if I did it right but it looks okay I think? Brian bought me some Pink M & M's to put in it but then I realized they were peanuts...yucky! I'll stop at Walmart after curling to pick up the regular ones ;) I'm sure Brian won't have any issues eating the peanut ones...lol
This next tin is one of those tins from the $1 spot at Michael's. I had bought these probably a year ago now. Since I had my MFT Think Pink set out I thought I'd grab a pink one and dress it up a bit. I'll put a bag of Pink M & M's in this too!
On Friday night we went out to a local scrapbooking store to see if I could find the new Basic Grey Figgy Pudding Designer Paper. No luck....I did find this tree stamp though! Bonus! It's from Inkadinkado. It's hard to tell in the pic but I stamped it in Choc Chip craft ink and then embossed it with Clear EP.
THIS is Figgy Puddy DP on the card though! My wonderful husband checked out a couple other stores yesterday while I was at my SAS. He picked me up TWO packs of it! YAH!
This card was made with Jen from i{heart}2stamp's sketch. I think I may have flipped the DP. I really like it though! Thanks for another great sketch Jen!
Ok....I'm off to gather the curling stuff! See you all tomorrow!

MFTstamps and Beate's Weekend Sketch

Today I have my first SAS of the season! Yah! Can't wait! I'm hoping the girls have a lot of fun and really like what cards I have designed for them!
Since I was all done packing last night I thought I'd kill some time this morning by making a couple of cards with my new My Favorite Things Stamps that arrived this week!
The first card is supposed to be a sketch#24 from Beate's blog this week. I think I turned it a bit and may have gotten off the beaten path...LOL! I really like how it turned out though!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: MFT and All in a Row
Cardstock: Choc chip, Really Rust, Confetti White, Apple Cider DP
Inks: Black, Really Rust, Choc Chip, Ruby Red, Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue
Accessories: Choc Chip Taffeta Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Aqua Painter and 3D glue dots
This card isn't for a challenge. I just wanted to make something with this new set!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: MFT
Cardstock: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Confetti White and Rose Red Prints Paper
Inks: Black, Bashful Blue, Brocade Blue, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Barely Banana and Blush Blossom
Accessories: MayArts Ribbon, Bazzill Wings Flowers, Crystal Brads, Ticket Punch, Glue Dots

Blog Sketch Challenge

Happy Thursday everyone! I don't have a lot of time as it's really good tv night tonight and I've not had much free time lately....LOL....so I would like to sit down and watch Survivor, CSI and the OILERS play! Please pray for them....hahaha! We haven't won in a while and I'm almost through all my jerseys and t-shirts trying to find the lucky one! UMMMM so far not having any luck!
These two cards I made for Jen70's blog challenge. Stamping Therapy which you should REALLY check out! This week were layouts.
I decided to do Halloween Bees....I so love these bees!
Today I finally got my My Favourite Things stamps! I ordered a few sets on the 1st but they must have gotten lost in the mail....I really wanted the Breast Cancer set they put out. Can't wait to use that one. Until then though, this is the card I made!
I'm running late....shows are on....dinner is ready!
Have a fab night!

You Make Me Smile Award

Thanks Janaina from 2 Worlds for this wonderful award! I had Jana's name in Jen from Pieces of Me Monthly RAK club for September. It was fun to send Jana a bunch of little goodies!
I hope that ALL my friends that visit the site will take this banner and post it on their blogs too! Without all of you, I wouldn't be bloggin'!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Today was a GREAT day!
I got all my cardstock cut for my SAS this weekend. All I have to do now is type up instructions for each card. That will take only a few moments compared to the other prep work...lol
I was able to get the SCS Sketch Challenge done this afternoon. It's a nice easy sketch!
As I stated before, I need to make at least one Christmas card each day so I have enough to mail out or hand out to friends. I did use glitter on the star and the whole outside of the tree but it's hard to see in the pic...sorry!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Season of Joy and Circle of Friendship
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Soft Sky, WW and Wintergreen DP
Inks: Always Artichoke
Accessories: Word Window Punch, 1"and 1 1/2" Circle Punch, Artichoke Grosgrain, Silver Brads, Dimensionals, 2way glue pen and Glitter
I have a really good friend who loves these Stamping Bellas but doesn't stamp....haha!
So I made this card for her. Sure hope she likes it! The Designer Paper is from a stack that my neighbour found for me....there are some really pretty papers in it ;)
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Bella
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Choc Chip, Shimmery White and Misc DP
Inks: Black, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard
Accessories: Photo Corner Punch, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Choc Grosgrain, Prima flowers and Misc Flower Brads

Day devoted to preping for my SAS

It's been a busy day again! I finally had a free day and thought I best prep for my SAS this coming Saturday. I knew I had today and tomorrow somewhat free and took advantage of it! I didn't need to be running around like a chicken with my head cut off come Friday night...LOL
I'm almost done, one more card to go!

Tomorrow I hope to catch up on SCS Colour Challenge and get the Sketch Challenge done as well!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far! They are calling for SNOW this weekend ...ugh!

Monday 15 October 2007

A sketch and a gift bag

Oh my what a day! I was able to get into the dentist to get my tooth looked at. Well as it turns out the one that I THOUGHT had the problem didn't BUT I did have other issues...haha
I got two fillings and still need to go back for a cleaning and full exam next week! I hate the dentist!
This first card is a sketch from Angelosity. Be sure to check out her daily sketches she has going on, this one is sketch #9. It's a nice clean sketch! I used Boatload of Love with Brocade Blue, Certainly Celery, Confetti White and a little bit of Crate Paper DP.
I have made a couple of these bags before but Lisa over at Splendiferous Creations did a bag that was 3 x 3. This is a perfect little gift for a hostess! I have an order to deliver to a teacher who is having a baby so I thought I would drop this little bag with the three little cards to her as well! Sure hope she likes it!

I'm off to our second BPA meeting in a bit! I'd like to try and keep it to an hour or less. That's my goal anyway!!
Have a GREAT night!

Lauren's Sketch Challenge

Today Chloe had her first curling meeting! Oh she LOVED it! She came off the ice and said, MOM! I didn't fall once! LOL! I'm glad she enjoyed it and can't wait til her next practice. I forgot my camera :( But I'll remember it next week and get some pictures of her in action to share with you all!
I had a chance before we left to work on Lauren's two sketches from Saturday. I am trying to do at least one Christmas card everyday. I'm hoping by the time it comes to address and mail them, I've got myself a stock pile.
This first card is made with a flower stamp I picked up in a little scrapbook store in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. It's so cute! I used Celery, Regal Rose, WW and Celery Prints Paper. The image is coloured with SU! Watercolour Pencils and a blender pen.
I have only used my Punch Pals twice now....I really like this whimiscal set! I'll definitely use it more now that I have another scallop punch!!! YAH!
I am going to add a little glitter to the snowman. Just ran out of time today....
I used Always Artichoke, Soft Sky, WW and Wintergreen DP. I like these two colours together!!
I hope that everyone enjoyed their weekends! It was GORGEOUS here!!! I'm dreading the cold and snow....but it'll be coming.....

Beate's Weekend Sketch

Happy Saturday everyone! Hope you are enjoying the weekend!?! It's a beautiful fall weekend here in Edmonton. The sun was out all day and it was warm enough for a sweater. Just how I like it!

This card here is for Beate's weekend sketch challenge. I bought this Autumn Leaves Set called Winter Wonder and only used the snowman from it once. Thought this was a perfect card to use a sentiment on the front.

I used Blue Bayou, Old Olive, WW and Basic Grey Dasher DP. I inked up the sentiment in Ruby Red. I think it's another pretty straight forward card.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll have more to share tomorrow. I can't get any more good pictures tonight. Plus I'm TRYING to watch the Nascar Race(Go Gordon) and the Oilers play hockey!

Friday 12 October 2007

Dad's 60th Birthday Card

Where does the time go sometimes???? I'm looking ahead to next week and realized it's my Dad's 60th birthday and I still haven't finished anything for him! Well I can cross a card off the list....LOL! I didn't want to put 60 or birthday on the card. I thought Celebrate Life was a good sentiment for this milestone.

I think this is the first year he got a card with NO flowers! I had to resist temptation to not use flowers or lots of ribbon. I kept it pretty simple. When I pulled out the Basic Grey Mellow DP, I knew just what set to use! This stamp set has NEVER seen ink! I bought it with the intentions of using it for little note cards. I'll leave it on my desk and see if I can use it again real soon.

It's really cloudy here and sort of feels like snow so it was hard to get a nice picture of it in natural light. The DP is green really, in this pic it looks a lot more blue.

I wish I had more time to stamp but it's hockey night tonight! The Oilers haven't done so well lately and they will require my FULL attention! haha!

Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend! See you tomorrow!

Thursday 11 October 2007

Bling

YAH! The Big Brown Truck came today....he brought my replacement Scallop Punch! Oh how I've missed that so much!!! Unfortunately he didn't get here until after 5pm....so I'll use it tomorrow!
This card was for todays Challenge on SCS. You were to use BLING on a card! Too bad my husband wasn't home....he LOVES bling on his cards!
I think it's a pretty straight forward card. I used Purely Pomegranate, Pretty in Pink, WW. I cuttlebugged the background with my snowflake embossing folder. The snow flakes are from the set Snow Burst and the sentiment is from Star Studded Season.
Hope you all are having a nice week! Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! WHEW!

Wednesday 10 October 2007

MFT cards!

I don't think I've ever left the school after working lunch program so fast! LOL
I was so excited to get home and make something with these fantastic images that Lori sent to me! I had this scrap piece of DP sitting on the top of my desk and I just went with it from there! I used Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue and Pretty in Pink. I don't recall what this DP is....sorry!
I'd love to get this set someday! It's soooooooooooo me! I LOVE to shop but if it came with a man in there, it'd be even better! Many of you know my husband is a shopper too!

RAK from Lori

After a long day at school yesterday I came home to some HAPPY mail! Isn't this card gorgeous?! Lori from Inking Aloud sent it to me!!! She was TOO kind and included tons of stamped images and sentiments from this set!!! I was soooooooooo excited! I hope to have time today to make something with them.
I'm sure I'll be back later with some other stuff but for now....I'll leave you with this card and be sure to check out Lori's blog Inking Aloud!!
Thanks so much Lori for making my day!

Tuesday 9 October 2007

A couple of pics of Chloe

Today was not a stampin' day for me :(

I spent all of it at the school getting things in order for our next Parent Meeting next week. Then the Special Pizza Lunch we put on for the kids every couple of months. Whenever I think it's just going to be a couple hour job, it turns out to be so much more....LOL

So I don't have any new crafting things to share today. I will, however, share some pictures I snapped of Chloe last week.

We wanted to get a few pictures together so I could scrapbook something for my parents. They both celebrate their 60th birthdays soon.

Since we can't be together(they live in Ontario, we live in Alberta) I thought it would be nice to send something to remind them of their granddaughter!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope to have something new to share with you all tomorrow!

Have a FANTASTIC evening!

Acetate Card

Oh my! I'm full! Just finished our dinner and leftovers from Thanksgiving are always so good! Hope that all my Canadian friends had a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving!
This acetate card was made for todays TLC136 challenge on SCS. I really like the look of these cards but they are hard to photograph....LOL
I used Stazon to stamp the snowflakes from the SnowBurst set. The snowman is from Stampabilities and is the Marshmellow Snowman...so cute eh?! I used the Marvy Scallop Square Punches and just overlapped them on one another to make a bigger square. Then I used the Snowflake punch and added a Making Memories Brad to the middle of them. The sparkle is Dazzling Diamonds!
Now I'm off to watch the hockey game! Go OILERS!

Blog Challenges

You should be at my house right now! Oh does it smell good in here! Got my scalloped potatoes and ham cooking in the oven....YUMMY! I can't wait for dinner today!
This year we decided not to cook a turkey for our Thanksgiving dinner since it was just the three of us. We'll have turkey for Christmas instead.
Onto my cards....
This first one was made for Sherry and Jeanne's Just Because We Wanna Challenge. You were to use CRITTERS! I love these zoofari animals!
This next one was made for Jen70's challenge. You were to use TWO or more Designer Papers. This was the first time I have used Boat Loads of Love! So fun when you ink something for the first time! I made another one for her challenge but can't post it....it's going to be mailed to a friend this week and I don't want her to see it ;) Trust me...it's cute too! LOL
I sooooooooo love these bees! Aren't they adorable!?! I don't like REAL bees mind you, but these are cute! This card is for Lauren's Saturday Sketch. I stuck my center panel on a little high so I didn't have room to stamp any sentiment on the Rose Red Panel....oops!
Finally I got to do Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge! Whew! I've been trying to do it since Friday....LOL!
I'm into these colours this weekend....this Cutie Pie DP is awesome! I forgot to order some when I did my last order....darn!
I don't have time to list all the details for each card. If you would like to know something, just ask! I'll definitely share!
I'm off to check my dinner and then settle in to finish watching the race!
Have a GREAT day!
