No crafting today. Just some quality family time together!! We went to the Farmer's Market this morning, been too long! Then Brian bought himself a new iMac 24"today so we are going to move the HP computer down to my craft area!! It'll be great having that downstairs where it's cooler. The hot weather SHOULD be here soon....we hope!
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far!

Bella Magic!

YAH! My Bella's came in the mail yesterday!!! I was sooooooo excited but didn't have much time in the evening to play :( BUT this afternoon...I was able to pull them out! I stamped them with Stazon Ink onto watercolour paper. Then I coloured them in with WC crayons and an aquapainter. Dug out the Palette O'Prints too! Nothing fancy but I'll give them to a couple girlfriends who I know will appreciate them! Thanks for lookin'!
I won't have much stamping time the next few days. My husband comes home from Louisiana tonight!! He's been gone a month and we are so excited to finally have him home!!

Photo Frame

Chloe wanted to give something to her Dad when he comes home this Wednesday. I'm hoping to save this until Father's Day next month but having a 7 year old who can't keep a secret....You see where I'm going with this....haha

The frame is from Michael's. One of those $1.50(Canada) ones. I painted it with a Making Memories colour first. Then applied Tres Jolie paper with Mod Podge. I let Chloe choose what she wanted to do. I quite like how it turned out. I'm sure Brian will LOVE it! I adore this picture of the two of them too! It was taken on one of our walks along the boardwalk in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

Small gift box and card

I needed a little gift for a friend and I had these wooden boxes from Michael's in my stash of things to alter, so I covered it in Chatterbox paper that I had on hand. I made the card with Stampin'Up! cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive and Whisper White. Thought I'd pull out the Cuttlebug too!!! I love using it but quite often forget it sitting there on another table...ugh.
I used some prima flowers and some rhinestone brads I got last week. They are soooooo pretty!

I also had some scraps of the paper left so I made a beaded pen but didn't get a picture of that.

Tin Containers

This morning while grocery shopping I found these tins and thought they'd be great to alter! Not that I didn't have a ton of other things to alter...haha. They were the last ones so I snatched them up! They are actually a good size. They measure 4.75" on each side. I decorated two of them already and am working on the third but wanted to show them tonight since it's been a couple of days of crafting anything.
These are the Petals and Paisley Papers from the Stampin' Up! mini. I used up some of my Maya Road Chipboard flowers on the pink tin. One is covered in paper and the other is covered in Pretty in Pink Craft Ink then sprinkled with Iridescent Ice Powder. I used a big white brad to hold them together. On the blue tin I used some prima flowers.
I have no idea what I am going to do with these now. Probably give them away as I do with everything else. If I kept everything I made I'd have no room for NEW stuff!

LOOK what I got today!

Just after 3:30 this afternoon the doorbell rang and there was this nice man standing there with this HUGE arrangement for me!! He said, I think you have a tree growing in here...LOL

Brian sent these to me and aren't they beautiful??? That's twice I cried today...ugh...I really don't like crying.

Quickie Mailbox Gift

After all my crafting on Sunday I was in a little slump for the past couple of days...lol

My Mom called wanted to know if I had any of those Target $1 mailboxes left. I said I have a few(about 10). She wanted to know if I could make some of those up for the ladies in her seniors building. I said sure! Knowing that I have four red ones left(I don't like red for myself), I thought I'd use those up first. Since I'm not one to use red, I don't have much red paper or embellishments. So I grabbed what I had and got to work. This is the first one. It's simple and not too much on it. I got kind of lazy too and only put a strip of paper around as a belly band. I didn't measure and cut away for the flag. Shhhhhhh don't tell my Mom. She won't know any different!

I was hoping to have a nice quiet week so I could craft inbetween my spring cleaning. It's not looking that way now. Tomorrow I have a Parent Meeting at the school for our Family Fun Day. Thursday it is the volunteer tea in the morning. Thursday night, Chloe has karate. Friday I'm off to get the ice cream for the Fun Day in the morning and then hopefully to the airport to pick up Brian in the afternoon. Saturday I have Family Fun Day at the school and then NASCAR on tv that night....whew....WHERE am I going to fit crafting in???? May have to pass on the rest of my spring cleaning.....

Inspired to use my scraps!

Since my husband is still working in Lafayette, LA I thought I should try and clean up my craft space. I wanted to start using up some of my scrap papers. Most of these are from Chatterbox. Such pretty paper they have! I had to make a card with that lady...she cracks me up!
The tin was bought at Target when I was in Florida in February. It's been sitting on the shelf of things to alter SOMEDAY....
I can't believe how productive I can be some days. Once I sat down and starting making cards I felt like I was on a roll and didn't want to stop! Not even for dinner...lol Actually these cards didn't take too long to make. They are pretty basic but will come in handy as gifts. I bet I give away 95% of the stuff I make. I love to share my love of crafting with anyone who will accept a gift!

Coaster Phone Book

I realized today that my little address book is filling up. So I thought I'd use up some of my scraps from my Mom's Day workshop last weekend.

I printed the little address labels on the computer. My Paintshoppro was used to create them. Then I cut them to fit the inside pages.

This probably took about 2 1/2 hours to make from start to finish. A little longer than I had anticipated but I like how it turned out and may make a few more as gifts!

Supplies Used:
Stamps: That's Nice and Brushstroke Alphabet
Paper: Petals and Paisleys Designer Paper, Cool Caribbean, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Certainly Celery and Non-SU white for page fillers
Inks: Same as Paper plus Temp. Turq. Marker
Accessories: Round Tab Punch, Flower Punches, Binder Rings, Brads, Ribbon, Cropadile and Medium Weight Chipboard Coasters

***the inside pages are cut 3.75 x 3.75

Bamboo Purse

I've been wanting to make this purse for sometime now and today I finally got the chance!! The purse was purchased at Michael's and I used my 40% off coupon!! The paper was bought from R & R Scrapbooking. It is the K & Company McKenna Collection. The chipboard and ribbon is from Stampin'Up! and the flower embellishments are things I had kickin' around. I sort of HAD to put the flower there since I made a boo boo...lol. I laid the purse in some mod podge and it stuck to the table and riped the paper a bit...ugh. The colours are a little off and the flower is not nearly that bright in real life.

First I painted the wooden purse with a green acrylic paint. Then I mod podged some flower pattern paper to the front and back. I took the scraps from that sheet and flipped it to the dots and used it on the sides and the chipboard letter. After it was all dry I sanded the edges. I was thinking of adding some ink to the edges but after my first mishap I decided I better not fiddle too much...haha

Anyway, I quite like how it turned out. If these purses weren't so much money I'd think about doing more of these for gifts or something.

Now I'm off to see what else I can alter today....

Shopping and a couple Links

Just a quick note tonight. I have not had any time to create today. I did however shop at R & R this morning. It's amazing how much stuff Rhea has in that place, not a single spot free on a wall or floor to be seen! So nice to be able to do some personal shopping as you always get MORE than you went for!

I've had a few friends ask lately how I come up with colour combos. Sometimes it's luck(rare), sometimes it is from SCS(often) and sometimes it is from THIS site. They have TONS of Stampin' Up! colour combos to choose from. Check it out. You'd be amazed at some of the colour combos!

Friendship Wallet Cards

Today I have been thinking about two very good friends and wanted to make something for them. As I sat here pondering what I could do to let them know how special their friendships mean to me, I decided to google some friendship quotes! These wallet cards were fairly quick to make and I didn't embellish too much. I'm hoping to find some pictures that I can adhere to the inside flap. The quotes were printed on vellum with the computer.
