Teachers

Hello!
Thanks for all the sweet comments yesterday about Snickers.
We visited the vet yesterday and discovered in some xrays that she has a "spot" on her spine. They can't tell exactly what it is right now so we are trying some medications(4 of them) to see if she can get some feeling back in her hind legs.
When she walks she looks like a drunken sailor....lol....but she doesn't appear to be in pain any longer.
Because we got home well after 6 pm after filling her prescriptions at the pharmacy I had no stamp time.

Luckily, I still had this card to share.
I used an older MFT sketch and the Clearly Sentimental About Teachers.
Pretty sure this DP is from October Afternoon Sidewalks.
Thanks for stopping by!

The Last Thing I Want...

Hello and happy Monday.
This has been a rough weekend at our house.
Snickers has injured her back and is on some anti-inflammatory drugs but I am not seeing any improvement. It's hard to watch your pet in pain and not be able to do much more than give them some medicine.
Hoping it gets better in the next day or so but we will be making another vet visit to be sure.
I wasn't much in the mood to do a whole lot this weekend but I did manage to make one card for the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.
I chose to case Shirley's card here.
Pulled out two MFT sets.
Fight Like a Girl and Twisted Foursome.
Thanks for stopping by today!

You're A Cut Above The Rest

Hello and happy Sunday!

I still haven't done much stamping since last weekend. Maybe two cards? Certainly not my normal routine.
Mid-week I received my MFT order and whipped up this super quick card using the MFT sketch from last week.
This Paper Doll Pure Innocence Girl is so sweet.
I love the Paper Doll dienamic I ordered too.
The only thing I wish....
was that the doll from the die matched the dolls on the stamp......they don't :(
Since I don't like to paper piece I don't see myself cutting out the dolls by hand anytime soon.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful Sunday!

Jump Rope - C4C121

Hello!
Whew I almost didn't get a card made with how busy my week has been.
This week the Crazy 4 Challenge 121 is to have a lot of layers and embellishments!
My fave!!
For my card below I used the Deconstructed Sketch.
Earlier in the week I received my MFT order and it in was this new PI girl. Sweet, eh?
Be sure to stop by the C4C blog to see what the girls have done and to link up your creation!
Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks For Being Awesome!

Thank goodness we made it to Friday!
Here's hoping this day goes really well!
Shannan has a great Viva La Verve January Week 4 Sketch for us in the Verve Forum on SCS.
It's a CAS sketch which normally I struggle with but with some fabulous SEI designer papers and wonderful Verve stamps it came together quickly!
Sentiment is from the Happy Hello set.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Thank You Mojo224

Hello!
I still haven't stamped all week :(
This card below was made for the Mojo224 sketch(last week).
I was cleaning up my stackable totes and came across this older My Mind's Eye designer paper.
I miss the old MME papers....they were nice and thick....different than they are now.
Anyway, I decided to use one of my fave Verve sets called Dream Big.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Bookmarks

Hello!
This past weekend I took Chloe to the bookstore where she bought 4 new books. That child reads a book every day or two!
When we came home I remembered that I had come across a fun bookmark on Dawn's Stamping Studio blog.
It's a really fast and fun way to create a bookmark using a hair elastic.
This first one uses the cute PI girl from MFT called Book In Hand.
Here's a close up....
This next one I made for myself using the MFT Upsy Daisy Die.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Love Notes

Hello and happy Monday!
Are you ready for a new work week?
This is going to be my busiest in a long time....
We have our new company President coming to Calgary and of course everyone is in a panic to have perfection.
I will do my best to achieve that!
Yesterday I spent the day making 5 or 6 cards because I know when I get home from work this week I'll be exhausted and will not have the energy or mojo to stamp.
This card below was created using the Viva La Verve January Week 3 sketch by Teresa.
I used an older Verve Valentine set called Love Notes.
I stamped the heart in pretty in pink and the die cut using the Jotted Heart Die.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Live in the Sunshine - SUO

Happy Sunday!

I didn't have any time to stamp yesterday so first thing this morning while my family slept I crept to the basement to create something for today's Featured Stamper Kim on SCS.
I chose to case Kim's card here.

I changed the theme from winter to summer. Added stitching rather than paper piercing. Instead of a black brad I added a red button for a pop of colour!
This is a SU! only card.

Stamps: Forever Young, Pursuit of Happiness; Cardstock: Black, White; Inks: Black; Accessories: SU Playground Button, Sewing, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Bird-day!

Hi!
Today the Crazy 4 Challenge #120 is a child's birthday.
This week we have a wonderful sponsor on board.... MFT!
Be sure to stop by the C4C blog to read all the details. Don't forget to link up your card on the blog as well!

For my card I used the sweet Pure Innocence girl You're So Tweet.
I'm sure that the Crazy 4 Challenges girls have some wonderful cards to share too!
Thanks for stopping by today~!

Sending You Love

Happy Friday!!!
I'm so excited for this week to be over.
1. It's been super busy and exhausting at work this week.
2. Our deep freeze is ending and a chinook is blowing in!

It's so cold in my basement where I stamp that I haven't been able to colour all week :(
Hard to colour when you can't feel your fingers....lol
This is another quick card made using the MFT sketch #55.
I used the First Class Friend Die and Stamp set. The felt heart was cut using a die from the Homespun Birdhouse.
Thanks for stopping by today!

I Love Us - SCS sketch #368

I was thankful when I looked up the sketch last night on SCS to find it was a fairly simple card that I could make quickly and no colouring.
As much as I love to colour images my hands and fingers were frozen and didn't want to co-operate with that skill....lol
A stamped sentiment and added rhinestones. Done.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Just a Note

Sunday I found Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #150 and some old My Mind's Eye So Pretty designer papers.
Sat down and got to work!
I used a couple of Verve sets for my card.
Blue Skies for the butterfly and the sentiment comes from Asian Flair.
I hope you are having nice weather in your neck of the woods!
It's FREEZING here in Calgary...-40 with windchill.....brrrrr!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Look Who's Turning 9

Last weekend my nephew celebrated his 9th birthday and I used Jen's Deconstructed Sketch again.
I pulled out some fun My Mind's Eye designer papers and a couple of MFT stamp sets.
The tag was created with a Verve tag die.
Think he'll like it!

You Make Me Happy

Hello!
Happy Monday!
It's a COLD start to the week here....ugh!
-30C last night with windchill....brrrrr!
Wish I didn't have to go to work....lol

Yesterday I played along with the Featured Stamper on SCS and cased Linda's card here.
I used the same basic layout and idea.
Instead of adding a bow I went with a red felt heart for a pop of colour.
Not my usual style of card but I like the end result.
Thanks for stopping by today!
ETA: Several emails and messages asking about the dies.... Medallion is from MFT and Leaves are from Taylored Expressions.

Potholes in the Road

Hello :)
Yesterday I headed to the basement to start organizing stamps and supplies that I'd like to sell.
BUT
as soon as I sat down at my table I decided stamping was a lot more fun!
I WILL get my act together and prepare to sell many items which haven't been used in a very long time.

The card below was created using Jen's Deconstructed sketch #34.
I finally broke into a stamp and die set from my MFT designer days.
Love these sweet little scooters!
The set is called You Move Me.

Courage

Thanks for stopping by today!
I have to admit I almost didn't get a card made for this week's Crazy 4 Challenge #119 :(
I was waiting for some new supplies earlier in the week and they didn't arrive. So I put it off but then we had a bunch of changes at work and frankly I wasn't in the crafting mood.
BUT....
I've decided to keep an open mind and just suck it up. I am always up for a challenge and learning new things.
I thought this sentiment from Verve's set called Blue Skies was wonderful :)

This week the Crazies are using shades of blue!
Easy right?
I pulled out some pretty My Mind's Eye Lost & Found - Breeze DP
Added a felt butterfly with the Flutterby die and accented with some pearls.
Stamps: Blue Skies; Cardstock: Kraft, MME Lost & Found-Breeze; Inks: Black; Accessories: Corner Chomper, Oval Nesties, MFT Felt, Pearls, Sewing, Dimensionals
The layout comes from the Viva La Verve January Week 2 Sketch.

I hope that you'll come play along with us at the Crazy 4 Challenges this week!
If you do and upload to SCS please use the keyword C4C119 and also link up on the C4C blog.
Now hop on over to the C4C blog to see what the girls have come up with!

More Yours Truly

Hello!
Thank goodness it's Friday.
This has been a horrible week. Glad it's over.
Normally I don't mind change....well when it doesn't affect me personally but the changes at work do :(

I have two cards to share with you.
First up is the MFTWSC53 from last week.
This is from the current MFTWSC54.
Thanks for stopping by!

Enjoy the Ride

This was one of the last cards I made on my 5 day mini vacation.
It was for the SplitCoast Stampers Sketch #366.
I found some of this great My Mind's Eye Away We Go in my scrap pile.
I love blue and yellow together!
Thanks for stopping by today!

You Color My World

Hello!
I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Back to work today and it's the first full week I will be working in weeks! Hope it's busy and goes by quickly!

Yesterday I made several cards and this was one.
Right from the get go I had issues putting it together.
I knew what I wanted to do with the Freshly Made sketch #16 but when it came time to stick the layers together it gave me fits.
If you look closely you'll notice that the heart pattern paper is sideways...oops!
The vertical red strip is supposed to be horizontal too.
I stuck every layer on wrong :(
I still like the end result though.
Sentiment is from MFT's Clearly Sentimental About You.
Felt hearts were cut using MFT felt and the heart from Homespun Birdhouse Die.
Paper is from last year's My Mind's Eye Love Me.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Love Is A Journey

This has been a quiet weekend at my house.
Chloe has been gone to a friends and it's just been Brian and I hanging out.
Really nice!
Yesterday after grocery shopping and having lunch he came with me to the LSS.
When asked what I was looking for, I told him some new papers. Maybe something that I would not normally use.
I went down one aisle(where I know the EP papers are) and he went down another aisle. When we met up again he handed me some paper pads.
This SEI Promise Me was one of them.
What do you think? He did well, eh? They are very pretty and a few pages have a little sparkle.
Since one of the patterns is of a map I decided to use this sentiment from the MFT Clearly Sentimental About the Journey.
Several die-namics were used as well.
Decorative Oval Doily, Crown Border Die, Fringed Perennial Flower Die.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Ok so this Christmas we received a Keurig and it's gotten a lot of LOVE in the past couple of weeks!

I thought it would be fun to make a card using the Better With You stamp set.

The sentiment was cut using the Tiny Sweet Scallop Die.
Stamps: Better With You; Cardstock: White, Black, Echo Park Yours Truly DP; Inks: Black; Accessories: Tiny Sweet Scallop Die, Sewing, Silver Pearls, MFT Scallop Die, Dimensionals, Twine

Hi, it's me.....with a little blog candy

Hi!
It's been a long time since I have done some sort of blog candy.
Mostly because I just can't get myself organized enough to do it! LOL!

Last year was a GREAT year for me both professionally and personally.

I started the year off on the MFT Sketch Team but was quickly invited to join the Design Team.
I'm sure if you are a frequent visitor to my blog you can tell that I {heart} MFT.
As much as I loved being on the DT I had to step down last summer do to work commitments at the time.

Leaving the DT didn't stop me from ordering from them each month. Call it an addiction...lol
I'll get to the blog candy in a minute but wanted to share one last card from last years MFT weekly sketches.
I believe this was sketch #23.
Ok so what you probably came here for:

Blog Candy!!
Since the MFT just had their release I'm sure you must have something you want so....

A $15 Gift Certificate to MFT

I will make a draw for it on Friday evening.
Just leave a comment on this post.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck!

***Draw has been done and winner posted***

Yours Truly

I am in love with this Echo Park Yours Truly designer paper!!!
I can't seem to put it away....lol
It's going to be all gone very soon :(
I've created a couple of cards with it lately.
This first one was done yesterday for the Featured Stamper on SCS.
I chose to case Lana's card here.
The use of scraps to create the background was perfect as I had a bunch on my table.
Of course I used an adorable Pure Innocence from MFT.
My next card was created last week for the MFT sketch #52.
Looking back at 2011 I realized I had only missed two MFT sketches! Not bad considering I've had a busy year with work, travel and other DT commitments.
I hope to complete all in 2012 :)
Stamps are from the Own Your Story.
The flower is a newer dienamic called Fringed Flower.
Well I have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday off this week! Love the extra days from Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day!
Chloe and I are planning to see a movie, do a little more shopping and play more on the Wii and Xbox!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a GREAT day!
