Paper Players #115

Hello :)

It's Sunday which means it's time for another Paper Players Challenge!

This week we are playing Tic Tac Toe!
I had a hard time choosing the direction I wanted to go but finally settled on the...
Colours Red/Blue, An Element Repeated 3 times and a Birthday Card.
Since I'd had this PI mostly coloured up on my desk I thought I'd use her.
I used two different polka dotted pattern papers, added some polka dots to her dress and scallops with a white gel pen.

For my second card I went with the row of Christmas, Sparkle/Bling and Ribbon.
The tree die is from Taylored Expression and the sentiment is from Verve.
Now hop on over to the Paper Players Blog to see more inspiration and to play along with us!
I always enjoy seeing the wonderful entries each week :)

ABC's

It's Friday!!!
Is it just me or has this week seemed extra long? I thought because I was going to be busy that it would fly by. Unfortunately, it didn't :(

Last weekend I was happy to find a little time to play along with quite a few VSN challenges.
I ended up combining a VSN challenge(notebook image) with the Freshly Made Sketch #53.

ETA: Embossing folder is from Cuttlebug but can't recall the name. Believe it's a new one.
Stamps: Book In Hand
Paper: Blueberry Sky, White, MME Playdate dp

Birthday Girl

Hello :)

I was in need of a birthday card....I know....I have a few hundred in my stash but I felt like stamping and creating a new one....lol
I started out using a MFT sketch then it turned into another sketch and then well I forgot elements from both and ended with this....

Thanks for stopping by today!

Red Flowers

It's only Tuesday. Really?
I have a funny feeling that it's going to be a long week.

Sunday I played along with another VSN challenge and combined it with the Featured Stamper.
The SEP12VSNJ was to make a red card and I cased Jackie's card here.
Red used to be a colour I was scared to use. I think when I first got into stamping years ago I had a pack of Real Red for about 6 months before I even cracked it open. It's such a bold and dramatic colour.
The pop of Wasabi from the leaves breaks it up just enough I think.
Stamps: Friendship Blooms
Paper: White, Pure Poppy, Wild Wasabi, MME Gnome Sweet Gnome dp
Ink: Pure Poppy
Accessories: MFT scallop die, MFT royal leaves die, Taylored Expressions Friendship Blooms Die, CB embossing folder, SU buttons, Twine, Sewing, Dimensionals

Fore You

Happy Monday!

Did you have a wonderful weekend?
Mine was nice and quiet.
Just what I needed after a busy week.

Were you able to play along with any of the VSN challenges on SCS?
I managed to make 4 or 5 cards(combined challenges too) and it was fun!

This card below was created for a couple of challenges and uses an older MFT sketch.
One challenge(SEP12VSND) was to make a Let's Get Physical card. Golf is physical right?
The other(SEP12VSNF) was to use some sort of school supplies or supplies found in a classroom. I ened up using cork on my card....which is something I love to use!
I had wanted to attach the sentiment with a paper clip but could not get it to look right without falling off so I gave up! ha!
Stamps: WTG Goes Golfing by MFT
Paper: White, Black, MME dp
Ink: Memento black
Accessories: copics, white brads, cork, sewing, dimensionals

Welcome to another week of the Paper Players Challenge.
This week it's a fabulous sketch!
I love sketches :)
I have created another Stampin' Up! only card for this challenge.
The sentiment comes for the Evergreen set and the stamped tree is from Scentsational Season and uses the Holiday Collection Framelits to cut it out.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Don't Count The Miles

Hello :)

This week Karen has a nice Clean and Simple Sketch.

I decided to just stitch on my vertical pieces of pattern paper but you could layer each of them up.
It's been a long time since I've used the First Class Friend stamp and die from MFT.
Want to see some other fabulous inspiration using the sketch?
I thought so!

Freshly Made Sketch

I'm back today with another quick holiday card I created last weekend.
The Freshly Made Sketch team were celebrating last week and you could choose one of their older sketches to play along with.
They have some awesome sketches especially for the clean and simple look.

This one used sketch #17 from their past sketches.
It's been a little bit since I've done any sort of watercolouring and this itty bitty image was perfect to get my hands wet again ;)
Normally I emboss the stamped image so that it stops the colours from bleeding but I couldn't find my embossing powder :( That's what prompted me to start cleaning up my craft space. I know I'll find it soon! LOL!
This is a SU! only card as well.
Stamps: Watercolor Winter
Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Watercolour paper
Ink: Black Stazon, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green
Accessories: Aqua painter, Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!

Should be a GREAT day!

This is a card I created for Jen's Deconstructed Sketch last week.
Like I've mentioned in previous posts I'm trying to get a stock pile of cards for the holidays.
Loving this sweet sweater trim from Stampin' Up!

Another quick card to share today.
This was made using the MFT sketch from last week.
I'd say it's a fairly clean and simple card with little embellishing. Can't recall the last time I used white brads. Amazing what you find in your craft room when you clean it ;) LOL!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Wishing You a Joyful Christmas

Happy Tuesday!

I don't know what it's like where you live but Fall is definitely here.
The weather is still quite nice during the day but at night....it's chilly....frost warnings already!
That means it's time for me to kick my Christmas card making into full gear :)
I have a lot to make over the next several months.

Sunday the girls at Crafty Friends Challenge were back with a new challenge. A sketch!
I chose to go CAS with my card.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Holidays Paper Players #112

Good morning!

***If you are looking for my Sweet Sunday Sketch please scroll down***

Today on the Paper Players Blog we have a colour challenge for you :)

When I created my sample earlier in the week I didn't have any basic grey cardstock so I had to stamp my sentiment over the tree in basic grey instead. I actually like the softer look the grey gives rather than a black.
This is a SUO card.
Stamps: Evergreen; Carstock:White, Baja, Black, Snow Festival DSP; Ink: Baja, Basic Grey; Accessories: Baja Seam Binding; Adorning Accents Edgelits, Adorning Accents Folder, Dimensionals
Before I get an email telling me that I have misspelled grey....that's how it's spelled....in Canada and many other countries.
Just like we spell colour with a U.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Smile Sweet Sunday Sketch #167

Hello!

Are you excited to play along with the newest Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge?
It's a GREAT sketch....as always ;)
I chose to use a sentiment for my card and do a little distressing for once.
Lots of dienamics from MFT were used as well.
I hope you'll stop by to see what everyone else has created and then be sure to link up your card on Karen's blog.

Sassy MFTWSC88

Happy Weekend!

It's going to be beautiful here in Calgary and I hope to spend as much time outdoors as possible.

After grocery shopping earlier this morning I came home to stamp for a bit.
The MFT sketch #88 looked like a quick and easy one :) Just what I needed after a few days of no free time.

I used the adorable PI Cute-a-tude and some MME A Mother's Love dp.
The flower was cut using some MFT felt and the Plentiful Flowers Die.
Thanks for stopping by!
Enjoy your weekend!

Tomorrow is Another Day

Let's switch things up today after a couple of days of busy cards ;)

Monday the CAS challenge on SCS was to incorporate fabric into your CAS card.

I die cut the butterflies out of kraft cardstock(negative piece) using a MFT butterfly.

Paper pieced around the edge and added a piece of canvas behind before popping it up on dimensionals on a kraft cardstock base.

Sentiment comes from MFT's Clearly Sentimental About Audrey Hepburn.

Stamps: Clearly Sentimental About Audrey Hepburn
Paper: Kraft
Ink: Black
Accessories: Canvas, MFT Butterfly Die, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by!
