Good Morning!
I've got a fun project and tutorial to share with you today!!
Did you see this in the TE Newsletter? If not, you really should sign up for it on the Taylored Expressions Store's sidebar.
A few weeks ago while at the SU! Regional here in Edmonton we were shown this super cool holder. Now I must tell you that it was shown holding CUPCAKES which would be perfect for the Taylored Expression Stamps...lol I can't recall the lady's name who made it but I want you to know it isn't my original idea.
I wanted to make something for my Mom and since I couldn't really mail cupcakes in this to her I had to find something else that would work. My Dad and her love to burn candles and if I'm being honest, I think my Dad loves to more :) Anyway, this will be part of her Mother's Day gift from me. The candles I used are from IKEA. I altered the insert to fit them.
My project was made using supplies from Taylored Expressions.
The stamp set is called Fresh Flowers and will be available on April 5th. The cardstock, designer paper and ribbon are all from the Mother's Day Key Ingredients.
All the pictures can be clicked to be enlarged for better viewing ;)
For the purpose of this tutorial I used pieces of cardstock that was laying around so it does not match...lol
Also the best adhesive would be sticky tape...something that is going to hold up.
Start with a piece of cardstock(you need two) that measures 7 5/8" square and score it at 2 1/4" on all sides. Cut as shown in the picture. Tape sides together and set aside.
For the inserts you will need two pieces of cardstock that measure 6 1/2" square. Score each side at 1 3/4" and cut out the corners as in the picture below.
Now you will need to cut a circle out of the center square. Depending on what you are putting in the box will determine the hole size. I used a circle nestie to cut mine.
Because this is 6 1/2" wide it doesn't fit through my machine so this is how I made it work. Fold the two side flaps over the nestie before running it through your Big Shot. Then set these aside for now.
You will need to cut two shapes for the middle/support of the box. Here I used Curvy Rectangle Nesties but the SU! Top Note Die works great too! Try different shapes for fun! Excuse the two different papers here but remember I'm using scraps ;)
Before taping your box together like in the picture below you will need to cut out/punch out a little handle. I punched one piece of cardstock, taped them together and then punched the other one using the first hole as a guide.
Next is a bellyband that goes around the box. You will need TWO of these and they do overlap on the sides. This one measures 2 x 11 but it can be as wide as you like. I used the EK Success Wavy Border Punch to dress up my bellyband. Be sure to use lots of sticky strip when attaching this.
Now you can pop the inserts into the boxes. I did NOT tape mine at all. This way they can be pulled out and the box used for something else.
Hope you found this easy to understand...if you have problems or questions please let me know.
Now pop on over to the other Baker's Dozen DT blogs to see what fabulous creations they have to share with you!

Great project and your instructions are very easy to understand! For those without a die machine, they could use a Coluzzle or circle cutter to do the inside circles! SO any options. Love it!
