Here's the sketch:

Chloe asked me to make a card for her best friend and I thought that the tag on the card would make a nice bookmark for her. She's an avid reader.

I Love Being Your Mom

Good Morning!

Well I've been awake since around 3 am or so.
Thunderstorms are rolling through.

As much as I've been asking for rain I would have prefered the thunder not to come with it. Or at least not during the night.....lol

Chloe and I have been spending a lot of time together lately and it's been wonderful!
She'll be 13 this week and I know the days of hangin' out with mom will most likely be over for a few years.
It's already started when I want to go somewhere she'll tell me that she'd rather stay home or she's going to a friends house. I'm sure I was the same when at that age but it was so LONG ago I can't remember ;)

Decided I'd make a card to leave for her when I'm off to work....

Just Saying Hi :)

Hello!
Thanks for stopping by today!

I was supposed to have my dental cleaning app't last night but when I got there they had messed up and I had to rebook for next month now :(  I was really looking forward to it! LOL

On the bright side....

I was able to create this card using yesterday's MFT sketch #81 :)

Pulled out my ALL TIME FAVE Pure Innocence girl and paired her up with some of the fun Pebbles papers I picked up on Tuesday.

Have a GREAT day!

Sweet

Hello :)

Yesterday after work I popped into one of our LSS to see what was new. It's been a few weeks since I've shopped there. Not a lot on the shelves as everything is on sale in prep for the new summer goodies coming after CHA.

I did find this cute Peebles paper pack though and was excited to use it.
Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch #163 was used for my layout.
Stamp set is from MFT and called Vertical Greetings II.

Good Morning!

Are you ready for a new Paper Players Challenge?
This week's challenge is...
I was hoping that my newest stamps would arrive in time for me to create my sample card but they didn't :(
So I pulled out one of my fave old sets called Full of Life.
I've always enjoyed inking up the words in different colours and I thought it would work wonderfully with this fun paper from the Paper Smooches dsp pack.
Added a little button as well!

Stamps: Full of Life; Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Summer Smooches DSP; Inks: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Temp Turq, Rich Razzleberry; Accessories: Mat pack and Paper piercer, Summer Smooches Button, Dimensionals

Please be sure to stop by the Paper Players Blog and see what wonderful samples the girls have made today.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you create when you upload your card to the blog as well :)

Let's Mix It Up!

Hello!

Last month I thought I'd give it a whirl and throw my cards in for the DT call that Karen put out for the Sweet Sunday Sketch and last week I was lucky enough to be invited to join the team!

I always adore Karen's sketches and can't recall one that I've missed lately.
They are always Go To Sketches for me :)

Here is this week's sketch:

The image panel was perfect for me to pull out one of the sweet a la modes from MFT.
This one is called What's Cooking.

Want to see the whole team?

Our guest stamper this week  is Jen Shults http://deconstructingjen.com/

Make A Splash MFTWSC80

Hello!
Are you happy it's Friday?
I know I am!

It's been terribly hot here this week and we've been treated to some good thunderstorms but nothing comes of it.
My poor lawn is dead :(
A week ago it was lush, soft and GREEN!
Now it's a yucky crunchy brown.

Wednesday evening it was hotter than heck in my house and I camped in the basement....lol
I created this card for the MFT sketch #80
I promise that I've cleaned up my table and put this paper pad away ;)
Thanks for stopping by today!

Here's To You On Your Birthday!

Hello!!!

Tonight I wanted to hide out in the basement where it was cooler so stamping it was!
Yeah!

Freshly Made Sketches had their newest sketch posted and I was happy I could play along.
I pulled out the fun SU! set called Good Cheer along with the Echo Park Hello Summer DP(it was still on my desk) and got busy!

This is what I created for the FMS43.

I Love Your Smile

Happy Tuesday!

It's hot as heck here! Whew!
Times like this I wish we had central air BUT it's not warm enough often enough to have it.

On Sunday I played along with the Featured Stamper Challenge on SCS.
I chose to case Debbie's card here.
This is what I came up with.....

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Little Bit of Sunshine TLC385

Hello!

Judy has asked me to fill in for the TLC385 on SCS while she is away at a family reunion.
Thanks for asking me Judy :)
There are so many techniques out there that I've been wanting to try and showcase and finally decided on this one that was featured on SCS Wednesday Tutorial last week.

It's called Pedestal Pop-Up Card.
There is a great video tutorial for the visual learners....like me ;)

When I saw this pop up I knew I wanted to try something a little different.
Flowers, Butterflies, Shapes, Sentiment Focus....so many options!
LOVE this rainbow die from MFT!
It does take a little patience to create it but the end result is well worth the 7 cranks of the big shot ;)
This is the inside.....which is what this card is really all about!
It was really hard to get a picture of this....sorry!
As you can see I used a few different dies....rainbow, flat bottom clouds and sunshine.
The clouds were cut out with some white felt.
I just love how this opens up :)
Fun!
The outside was simple made using a piece of designer paper...
I had a lot of fun creating this card and can't wait to give it to someone!
I hope you'll join me in this challenge on SCS!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Best Wishes Paper Players #103

Good Morning!

Are you excited for a new Paper Players Challenge?
For my card I used a PTI set that I believe was an anniversary set. I was gifted to me by a very good friend :)
I stamped the stems in Lucky Limeade and the pretty flower tops in Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight.
Adding a white picket fence from MFT.

I hope you'll stop by the Paper Players Challenge blog to see what the ladies have all created and play along with us by uploading your card in the linkz section.
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful Sunday!

Flowers Paper Players 101 sketch

Good Saturday Morning!

This looks to be a BEAUTIFUL weekend here in Calgary!
Summer has finally arrived this week :)
We were a little slow out of the gate this year but there is still plenty of time to enjoy the sunshine.
I love that we have really long days up here. Sun is up early and sets late.
This morning I am going to enjoy a cup of coffee on my back deck and listen to all the birds chirping happily.
Not exactly sure what our plans are for the weekend but I will definitely be sneaking in a little stamping.
Probably when it gets a little warm in the house(we don't have airconditioning) I will go to the basement where it's wonderfully chilly! LOL!
This is a SU! only card I made a couple weeks ago for the Paper Players 101 sketch.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Freshly Made Field Flowers

Hello

Earlier this week I received some sad news that someone I know is battling cancer :(
I wanted to make a card for the family to let them know I'm thinking about them and saying a few prayers. They are very optimistic as they begin treatment.
I needed a little inspiration to get me going and the Freshly Made Sketch #42 was exactly what I needed.
The lady going through all of this is a SU! demo so I know she'll appreciate this SU!  only card :)

Stamps: Field Flowers; Cardstock: Marina Mist, Basic Black, Whisper White, Polka Dot Parade; Inks: Lucky Limeade, Marina Mist; Accessories: Organza Ribbon, Dimensionals

This week it's a theme....
