Christmas Cuteness

Well winter has finally arrived here and it's the first really chilly morning. BRRRR!
It isn't going to stay this cold but I'm not convinced that Mother Nature is going to be as kind to us as last year. We got REALLY lucky last year and hardly had any snow and it was fairly warm.
I don't mind the cold as much as the snow. It's pretty to look at but not to shovel....lol

Here are a couple of snowman cards I created using the super cute MFT set called Christmas Cuteness.

Have a Holly Jolly Season

So far this fall I've created dozens of holiday cards to give to friends, family and co-workers. My biggest issue is actually addressing and mailing. Anyone else have that problem?
Mailing cards is getting so expensive. At least in Canada anyway. All of my cards are typically way more than the average stamp. Usually costs about $2 a card. Not an issue really but it means a trip INTO the post office to have them weighed. No more just throwing a 1.00 stamp on them and going into the mail :(

Here is another card I created using a Freshly Made Sketch #208 from October.
I think this one will be hand delivered ;)

Merry & Bright

Wow!
I bet you thought I gave up blogging. No, I just haven't had a lot of spare time to create.
I do have some cards to share that I've made over the past month or so.

I did have a week of vacation at the beginning of November but that week was spent creating cards for a Christmas card class that I held at work for charity. I forgot what it was like teaching to people that have never picked up a stamp before. Was a very interesting but fun evening. One that I've been asked to do again in the new year. What people don't quite understand is what goes into when prepping for something like that. Whew! I do enjoy it though :)

Here is one of the cards we created. It was one that I made for the Paper Players Colour Challenge and also a SCS CAS challenge. Thought it was simple enough to get them started that night.

Holiday Season

Hello :)

Oh my goodness....did it ever cool off here this weekend....brrrr!

I cracked and let my husband turn the furnace on. Just long enough to take the chill out of the house though.
It's going to warm up again this week and we'll have windows open again :)
That makes me happy!

I was able to get a few stamped cards made this weekend.
This one uses a new stamp set from the SU! Holiday Catty.

LOVE this wreath and can see me using it on a lot of holiday cards this year!

The layout comes from the Freshly Made Sketch.

The leaves are changing and the cool air is upon us.
Sure makes sleeping at night nice!

Here is a card I created for two challenges:

Paper Players Create a Fall Scene #263
and
Freshly Made Sketch #204
I chose to use a MFT stamp set called Out on a Limb. I love that I could colour each of the leaves with my SU markers.

All Is Calm, All Is Bright

Gosh some days I wish life would SLOW down....just a little ;)

I miss the days that I had energy to get crafty after work.
Maybe I'm working too hard....lol

My SU! card below was created for the Freshly Made Sketch #204 which I flipped so I could use these cool new trees from the Wonderland Stamp Set.

Grateful

Hello!

I'm busy playing catch up on my cards.
I often sit down and create a couple at a time but then by time I edit and upload to Splitcoast I've run out of time.

So here is a card from about two weeks ago using the Freshly Made Sketch #203
I stamped the Hardwood background from SU in Crumb Cake onto Crumb Cake cardstock.
The leaves are from MFT and I used a variety of SU inks.

Thanks

Good day!

Things are still fairly busy around here and not a lot of happening on my blog.
I apologize!
I have gotten a few emails saying that even though I don't post daily that they enjoy reading my posts through their feeds :)
Thanks!

Here is a card I created using a Freshly Made Sketch #202

You Are So Kind

Hello :)

I've been such a bad blogger again.
It's back to school which means that it's one of my crazy busy times at work.

I have created cards I just haven't had much online time.

Here is a card I created a week or so ago for the Paper Players Tic Tac Toe challenge and the Freshly Made Sketch.
I'm happy to say that it was chosen as one of the favourites for the Paper Players Challenge.

This is a SU only card using a colour I don't think I often reach for but really like.

Hello :)

Holy cow!
September!
Where did the summer go?!
It's like a switch was flipped this week and suddenly the trees are starting to change and before I know it, we'll be raking leaves.
I actually enjoy fall and welcome it :)

Here is another card I created using the Freshly Made Sketch #200.
Flower dies are from Taylored Expressions and the Hello die is from AveryElle.

You're Out of This World

Hello!

This has been a crazy week. No free time really :(
Think I need another vacation! LOL!
Lucky for me I still have one more week to take before December!!!

Last Sunday I made a couple of cards using the Freshly Made Sketch #200
This one uses stamps and dies from Reverse Confetti.
I just LOVE this globe die! So many fun sentiments in the set too!

I stamped the dots with one of my fave SU! colours called Strawberry Slush. LOVE the new SU! ink pads....so much better than the old. They are so juicy!
I die cut the globe a few times with different cardstock colours so I could piece it the way I wanted.

Let It Snow

Hello!

Last weekend as I was cleaning up my desk area I came upon this piece of polka dotted cardstock that I made sometime ago. Then I found a piece of watercolour paper that I had distressed a bit too! Do you ever make things and then set them aside? Forget about them? Then it's like Christmas when you find it?! LOL!
I decided I should use those pieces before they were lost yet again ;)
I loved the SU! Holiday catty (that will be available to order from in September).
This Hearth and Home Die is awesome!!!
The stamp set is called Happy Scenes.

Celebrate

Ok seriously....well maybe not....lol but I think this is my last card to share with you using the Smooshing Technique.
I think this is my favourite card that I've made lately.
Chloe helped me decide on the sequins. Originally I wanted to add balloons but then that would cover up the pretty background ;)

You Keep Me Anchored

Hi there!

The girls at the Color Throwdown had me stumped last week with the colours!

I thought wow these are so pretty together but every single thing I tried looked horrible.
Then on Sunday I thought I'd give that smooshing technique using acetate a go.
I LOVE that technique and am hooked! You'll see several cards made with it soon :)
I also used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout.
This card uses a fun MFT die that matches the Go Overboard stamp set.
I gave the anchor three coats of UTEE for a little shine ;)
Stamps: Go OverboardPaper: White, Going Gray, Pacific Point, Cool CaribbeanInk: Pacific Point, Cool Caribbean, VersamarkAccessories: Heat and stick powder, UTEE, Acetate, Spray Bottle, Go Overboard Dies, Pool Party Twine, Vellum, Dimensionals

Thanks

Friday!!!
For most it likely means the weekend but those of us in retail often work weekends.
That's me! LOL!

Since I still had the supplies on my desk from yesterday's card I decided to use them again for the SCS Free 4 All Challenge - use three dies or three punches on your project.

Again I did a light colour wash onto a couple pieces of mixed media paper and then die cut three butterflies with one of them after it had dried.
Stamps: Hip NotesPaper: White, Watercolour PaperInk: Yo Yo Yellow, Tangelo Twist, Strawberry SlushAccessories: Bold Butterfly Framelits, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Black Rhinestones

Life Is Good

Hello :)

Remember last week when I said that orange, yellow and pink were coming up?
Well here is one card I created for today's Ways To Use It Challenge on SCS.

Last Thursday was Leftie day.
So the challenge was to use the left side of your card as your main focus.
Easy and fun!

I did a light colour wash over a mixed media piece of paper and let it dry.
Then I die cut some pretty butterflies to match.
Stamps: Remember ThisPaper: White, Watercolour Paper, Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist, Strawberry SlushInk: Daffodil Delight, Tangelo Twist, Strawberry Slush, BlackAccessories: Waterbrush, Scallop Die, Bold Butterfly Framelits die, Sewing, Dimensionals

A Christmas Wish For You

Hello :)
Made it to Wednesday!
Yeah! Today we are having a BIG BBQ at work to celebrate our newest campaign called
Feed Everyone.
The weather is supposed to be nice and I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's not windy.
Wind is always an issue in Lethbridge....lol

Here is a card I created for the SCS sketch553 last week.
It's a SU only card that uses all the new goodies from the upcoming holiday catty!
