i{heart}2stamp Challenge and extras

This is for Jen's Sketch Challenge on her blog HERE. I really enjoy doing her sketches each week! It gets your mind movin'! I was going to add a sentiment but decided I'd just leave it blank on the front and maybe stamp one of my Christmas sentiments on the inside of the card instead.

My day started out with Jen's Sketch Challenge card but I didn't want to stop there. I'm busy watching the Nascar race and Jeff Gordon is leading...so I'm pumped and thought it was a GREAT time to work on some more Christmas goodies!

I used all the scraps to make another card, cover a notebook and a small tin can that I purchased at Michael's awhile ago. I added some tabs to the notebook but left them blank so that whomever gets this gift can write in their own words on the tabs.

Two Weekend Challenges

This card was for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge HERE. I love when I get a chance to do challenges! So much fun! I pulled out some colours I don't use too often for this card. Summer Sun is something I rarely use unless it is for a Colour Challenge on SCS! LOL
I haven't used this Stampendous Bee stamp yet....so I knew I had to use him!
ETA: LOL! My good friend, Michelle, pointed out I HAD used this bee, glad she has a good memory ;)

This card was for Jen70's Blog Challenge HERE this weekend! You were to create a Nautical or Beach themed card using BLUES. I chose to use Cool Caribbean and Soft Sky as my blue colours! LOVE them! I am also having fun using this cool surf board stamp that I picked up in California on our last family holiday! I've not seen it anywhere around here before.

SCS Limited Supplies Challenge

Today's Limited Supplies Challenge LS128 was to make a Summer Season Card. It was supposed to be colours from Bold Brights or Soft Subtles. You could use a few embellishments as well, like brads, eyelets, ribbon and primas.

I used Only Orange, Brilliant Blue, Whisper White and Doodle Bug Designer Paper. The surf board stamp was one I picked up along my travels through the States. The brads were picked up from the dollar store! YAH! Finally snagged something decent from there...haha


Chloe REALLY wanted to participate in the challenge too. So she made this card. I helped with cutting the paper but she did the rest. She used Real Red and some misc Designer Paper. The moneky stamp is her FAVOURITE! She loves monkeys and watermelon!!

I think she did great and she wanted me to post it on my blog in hopes that someone would like it...LOL!

Ways To Use It Challenge

Today on SCS Ways to Use It Challenge, you were to alter a book of some sort. I have a TON of these notebooks floating around on shelves downstairs. I have been wanting to do something with them for sometime now but needed that extra push! Thanks Julia!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Today on SCS they had the Sketch Challenge SC136 posted. It was a fun one. Not something I would have thought of. You cut out or punched out from the one panel. I needed a birthday card for this weekend and figured this would do!

Accessories: Cuttlebug Embossing folder, Word Window Punch, Marvy Scalloped Punch, Ticket Corner Punch and Paper Piercer, Dimensionals and Silver Brads

I figured that since I had the extra cardstock from todays challenge and yesterdays colour challenge on the table I should use them up! I love the flowers. I learned how to do it first from Cambria's blog HERE. So cute! The small flowers are done in Soft Sky and I used our SU! Scalloped Punch. The larger flower is from Marvey and I used Blue Bayou.

A neat idea....not mine...LOL

This was a fun project that I worked on with my upline, Diane, and my sideline, Kerri, this morning. They got a swap at Convention that had a Wish List inside of a card with some Coupons stapled inside the bottom as well.

We didn't do any coupons up because we all have diffent ideas or different customer needs. Some of the swap ideas were....Buy say 3 packs of Cardstock and get a free Classic Ink Pad.

It's a neat idea but since I'm more of a hobby demo I thought I could just do these cards up for the occasional workshop and give it to my hostess to fill in prior to her party!

Wide Variety of Cards

Another busy day at the Easton house! I don't know WHAT I would do if I didn't create something each day?! Well maybe the ironing.....
This card was from today's SCS. We used Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Cameo Coral. I wasn't sure I could pull anything nice off with these colours together but it turned out ok. It's always fun to see what the girls at SCS come up with for us!

Last night I was watching TV and everyone was sleeping so I stayed up and crafted a few Christmas cards. It's never too early to start right?! Every year my friends get a stash of homemade cards from me as a gift. Most of them get their Christmas gift quite early in December so they can use them! I also include other cards as well. Things for them to use throughout the year for various occasions. These cards used some DP from a local craft store and the SU! Festive Favourites Set. The tree brads are from Making Memories.

Today my sister, Jennifer, came back and we crafted the next few projects together. What fun! I had this DP that I said we NEEDED to make a Halloween card from. Her birthday is ON Halloween and yes I've always told her she was a wicked witch....rofl

I really like how these cards turned out!

Last week on SCS during the DTGD Challenges there was a challenge to use acetate. At the time I had none but was sure to pick some up last weekend! I've never made a card with it before and I did find it a little challenging, trying to figure out how to hide your tape and glue dots.

We just put the layers back to back on the front/inside and inside/back. Does that make sense? LOL The box was from last Wednesday's Tutorial on SCS. It is a 2, 5, 7, 10 box!

A couple more Basic Grey Cards...

These last two cards are from scraps that were left over from yesterdays cards. I don't like to waste things and if they are still handy then why not use them up! Right?!

Cardstock is from Stampin'Up! and the Designer Paper is Basic Grey. I used the Zoofari set for the birds and the Bees are from Stampendous. Such cute stamps they have!

I'm hoping to get a few altered items done today as well. That shelf in the basement has been calling my name for months. Unfortunately, I rarely take anything from it. I usually just ADD to it!

Yah I finished my Penny Black Snowman Swaps! I was so excited to be asked to join in on this swap with some girls from SCS! I wanted to make a couple extra for myself to keep. Besides I didn't want to waste any of my Basic Grey DP!!

I used SU! Soft Sky and Blue Bayou coloured cardstock. LOVE those two colours together!!

Been Busy Today!

Jen70 from SCS had a challenge posted on her blog yesterday to make a tent topper card with NO flowers! So today when I brought a few supplies upstairs I didn't bring any primas or flower stamps up with me so I would not be tempted to use anything! I tend to use a lot of flowers lately....LOL

This was a simple card and I LOVE making tent topper cards.

I'm going to make tent toppers for my swap. Suppose I should work on those soon eh?!

This card was made with some of the left over paper I had in front of me. I was kind of lazy and didn't want to go back to the basement to get another stamp set so I kept this one very simple.

Chloe really wanted a pink horse card to match one of her Webkinz that she got. Pink is a LITTLE unusual but who is going to argue with an 8 year old girl when she asked so nicely!

These next two cards I made are done with SU! Ballet Blue and Certainly Celery. The first one was a sketch challenge from some blog I browsed. Unfortunately I didn't bookmark it. I only jotted down the sketch.

Stamp Sets Used: Wild About You and Riveting

This card was for todays challenge on SCS. You had to make a background using stamps only. No paper or cuttlebuggin'.

The flowers are embossed with clear embossing powder and the circles are stamped with Ballet Blue. I used the Marvy Scalloped Circles along with our SU! Scalloped Punch. They fit pretty nicely together. The ribbon is probably from Michael's.

Need your opinions...

I really need some opinions on doing cards for a swap I am in. I was THRILLED to have been contacted by some girls on SCS after seeing some of my cards during the DTGD Challenges!

Anyway the swap is for Penny Black. I have a few Penny Black Snowmen stamps but that's it. So my swap will be with those for sure. I've never done a swap before...EVER! I don't really know what I'm doing but what the heck eh?!

I came up with these two cards so far. Figure I'll play around a bit and then decide. I can ALWAYS use snowmen cards!

What I am wondering is what you think of these two cards. Are they what swaps are made of? Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

I finally got some of the Cosmo Cricket Wanted DP! YAH! I really like this paper. It will go great with the Stampin' Up! Western Sets from the new catalogue.

I used Choc Chip and Close to Cocoa. Pulled out the HodgePodge Hardware again too! I never liked using it before because it cost so much but then I realized....I bought it to USE it!

Today on Rose Ann's site Paper Delightz she showed how she made a buckle with the key tag punch. I was going to do it but then didn't really know what to do with it on this card. So I used the shape and left it plain. Thanks Rose Ann for the tip!

SCS Sketch Challenge

Well thank goodness there are still daily challenges at SCS. I'd go nutty now without them! Todays was a sketch. I kept it pretty simple. I need a card to send to my Grandmother and I know she likes these sorts of colours.

A sad day....

Well not really....I'm just a little sad that today is the last day for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at SCS! I had such a fun week creating all these cards!!! I managed to get 3 out of the 4 challenges done today. I even did 2 for the Black Challenge! I will TRY to get the last one done tonight. If not, tomorrow is another day!!
This card was a challenge to make a Tag Card. I've never done one of these before! Also you were supposed to use only ONE stamp set ;) I love how it turned out!

This one was a Layout Challenge. Three panels across the bottom. I actually struggled with this card. I just couldn't quite find the RIGHT stamp set to use. So I ended up with Garden Whimsy again....love that set!

These last two cards were for the Black Challenge. You were supposed to use a little black to make your card POP! Those that know me, know black along with Earth Elements are my least fave colours ;)

Managed to SQUEEZE one DTGD card in...

My friend and upline, Diane, came by this afternoon to show me all her goodies from Convention! WOW! We sat for a couple of hours looking through all her swaps. There are definitely some great artists out there. Amazing stuff!
Since she was here most of the afternoon, taking up all my time....LOL....Just kiddin'....I only had time to get one card made for todays challenge! I'll be catching up tomorrow! There were FOUR great ones today. This card was easy to make. I still had this strip of paper on my desk from last week. We were supposed to use an animal stamp and colour him blue and green. Paper matched perfectly then! I HAD to use it ;)

I had to get a couple cards done for the SCS Dirty Dozen Challenges today first!

The Reindeer card was a layout challenge. I think those reindeer are sooooooo cute too! They rank right up there with my snowman, my first love!


This second card is for another Challenge by JanTink. You had to use Pale colours, like Pastels! Now those are my normal colours! WHEW! I tend to go through more packs of soft subtles than any of the others. I didn't want to stamp any kind of sentiment on the card. I figure it can be used for anything then.

I have made so many cards lately I think it's time for me to get some RAKs in the mail!! I'll have to go check the updated listed on SCS! Then hit the post office for stamps!

A few more Dare to Get Dirty Cards

I'm so enjoying this week and wish it never ends! There are still another few days of the challenges and I hope to get many more done still!
I love love love this snowman! Isn't he adorable??? This card was for a layout challenge on todays Dare to Get Dirty Cards. The colour looks a little off sorry! Trust me, it's Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue and POP paper.

My dear husband bought me some new DP today! It is DCWV Pocket Full of Posies Stack! Love the glitter on it. Not sure if you can see it or not. The butterfly stamp is one I picked up on my holiday travels earlier this month. I used Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant and Soft Sky with it.

This last card was for Jen's Dare to Get Dirty on SCS today. She gave some sample colours to use and I was happy that she did that! She wanted to have BRIGHT cards made. I'd never have put together Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Purely Pomegranate! The Designer Paper is from my new DCWV stack.

Today was such a busy day with Chloe's birthday party I didn't have any time to come and stamp until this evening! It's hot out and we are all in the basement so I didn't have to feel guilty leaving them upstairs while I crafted! Everyone joined me here!

The second card I am actually going to give my nephew for his 7th birthday next week! One of the challenges from yesterday was to use FUN FLOCK. Well I didn't have any, until TODAY! YAH! I had ordered some online last week and all of them arrived this afternoon. I KNEW I wanted to use it ASAP! I used the scrap pieces of Scenic Route DP from my last challenge cards. I sure hope Braden likes this card!

I was excited to see a PINK challenge for today! I had this pink giraffe stamped for a bit now and thought I'd just make it into a baby card. I don't know anyone to give this card to right now but I'll put it in my stash of cards. Someday I'll need it for someone. This card used almost all Stampin'Up! supplies:
