Friendship Boat

Yesterday on SCS was Feature Stamper. I don't often get a chance to play this one on Sunday's but when I saw Danielle's gallery HERE on SCS, I knew I had to play!

You must change at least TWO things when you CASE a card. So I changed the Cardstock, DP and Stamp Set. I kept the same layout though. Why mess with something that works so well, right??

The card I CASED is HERE.

Can you believe it is the end of 2007? Wow, this year flew by! I don't know if it is because I'm getting older or if it was because our year was full of fun and exciting things!

January started off slow, as it always does for us with the holidays just ending. February we were gone the entire month on our trip across the United States(driving from Edmonton to Daytona Beach, Florida) for the Daytona 500! On our drive back, I stopped in Kansas to visit a friend. March was a catch up month for us with work and school. April and May saw Brian head down to Louisianna for work. June was a great month, end of the school year! July we left for our trip to California. Our drive took us through Montana, Idaho(where I met up with another great friend and her family), Utah, Nevada and finally to Anaheim, California. The drive back we drove up the West Coast and through the Redwood Forest(quite amazing). August was nice and quiet, just the way I liked it ;) September was back to school and work. Since heading back to school in September, time has flown by. I've had a great year and am thankful for my family and friends. I look forward to MANY great things in 2008!

Happy New Year to you and your families!

Save The Date

A very good friend of mine asked if I could make some Save The Date cards for her husbands 40th surprise party. I don't have any Save the Date stamps so I printed some off on the computer. I have never really printed onto Vellum before but I like the look.

She wanted some dark colours but I decided to add some Almost Amethyst Prints Paper too. Sure hope she likes these.

I think we will just print off all the information and attach it to the inside of the card.

Hope to get some time to stamp a few more thank you cards today as well.

Enjoy your day!

Birthday RAK

I haven't had much energy today to get crafty. Chloe and I took down the Christmas tree and cleaned the house, now I just want to veg....lol
I do want to show you a VERY sparkly card I received from Dawn Griffith for my birthay! Thanks so much Dawn!!
My goodness is it every sparkly IRL!! WOW!
Hope you all are having a nice weekend so far!

Thank You Friend

I've been wanting to use this elephant from the new set Happy Heart Day for the past couple of days but it didn't fit in with any layouts I had done. I found a GREAT layout on MJ's blog Beauty Lies Within! Be sure to check it out!
I stamped the elephant in Black Stazon and watercoloured with an aqua painter. Then I added the little butterfly stamp in the top corner and added glitter to her wings.
My sister is coming by soon so this has to be a short post....hope everyone is recovered after the Christmas holiday!

Embrace Stazon

Two posts in one day! Been awhile since I have done that...lol
I had some time this afternoon to work on todays SCS Ways To Use It Challenge. It was ways to use Stazon. What better way than to stamp with it and watercolour?! I'm still working on those skills....
I really like how this turned out. The Designer Paper is from the upcoming catty and is called Ginger Blossom. THAT is what made my card! The stamp is from the same set I used already called Embrace Life.
I stamped the image on watercolour paper and coloured with an aqua painter and a combo of markers and re-inkers.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Ruby Red, River Rock, WC paper and Ginger Blossom DP
Ink: Black Stazon, Ruby Red, Summer Sun
Accessories: Marvy Scallop Punch, Coluzzle, Aqua Painter, Dimensionals, Cream Grosgrain Ribbon, Organdy Ribbon

Embrace Life

I finally was able to put some ink to my new stamps that will be available in January. I think this set will get used often for sure! It's called Embrace Life. This is another card I made for the Sketch Challenge yesterday on SCS. I'd made a little boo boo on the Very Vanilla by dropping my Groovy Guava ink pad on it, so I sponged colour around in hopes to mask it ;)
The button was one of MANY the Brian gave me in my Christmas stocking. He bought me tons of new little goodies!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Very Vanilla and Bali Breeze DP
Inks: Versafine Black Onyx, Groovy Guava, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Coluzzle, Marvy Scallop Punches, Paper Piercer, Word Window Punch, Signo Gel Pen, Sponges, Misc button, Twine, Dimensionals, Ticket Corner Punch
Another new set! Isn't this mouse so cute??!! There are some great images in this new set called Happy Heart Day. Every year we are away for Valentine's Day and I have to take a card with us to give to Brian. This year....I'm ready! Yah!
I stamped the flower from the set in my Essentials Glue Pad and then sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds on. Love that glue pad! So easy to use and no heat setting it.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Happy Heart Day
Cardstock: Rose Red, Regal Rose, WC Paper and Bali Breeze DP
Ink: Black Stazon, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Going Gray
Accessories: Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"Circle Punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Essentials Glue Pad, Regal Rose Ribbon, Dimensionals, Heidi Swapp Flower Jewel

Friendship bird

Oh it's so nice to just relax today, now that the big holiday has come and gone. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas!
Today on SCS they had the Sketch Challenge. I couldn't wait to jump right in!!! I have a ton of new goodies that Brian filled my stocking with but I couldn't decide which to use so I pulled out my trusty SU! supplies!
This new DP Bali Breeze from SU! is so cute! I think it will be a big hit starting in January. I wanted to make a nice, bright, cheery card. I'm sending this to my friend, Karen, in Calgary!
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: A little birdie told me, Celebrate everything
Cardstock: Temp. Turq., Pumpkin Pie, Confetti White and Bali Breeze DP
Inks: Versafine Black Onyx, Temp Turq, Pumpkin, Sahara Sand, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Corner Rounder, Designer Label Punch, 1"Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Temp Turq and Pumpkin Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, Misc Brads

It's Christmas Eve!

Aren't you excited?!?!
I can't wait to watch Chloe open her presents tomorrow and have the yummy smells of everything cooking in the house!! Today I have one last trip to make to the grocery store, I must make a list.
My friend, Karen, arrived yesterday from Calgary. We've had a blast so far! She got Chloe a Wii for Christmas so we've been busy bowling, boxing and playing tennis....hahaha....my arm hurts this morning!
Chloe and Karen are still sleeping and Brian got up at 7:00 to head to Walmart....lol...remember HE is the shopper in this house ;) I thought I'd share my two cards I made yesterday for a couple of blog sketch challenges.
This first one of Hanna is so spring like. Love the colours in the Uptown girl Designer Paper from SU!. This one has just enough Almost Amethyst in it. I flipped Jen's sketch for the ribbon and flower.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Hanna
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, So Saffron, Confetti White and Uptown DP
Inks: VersaFine Black Onyx, Saffron, Celery, Amethyst, Blush Blossom, Close to Cocoa, Choc Chip, Temp Turq
Accessories: Slot Punch, Ticket Punch, Soft Subtles Brads, Flower, May Arts Ribbon, Dimensionals, Aqua Painter
This one is a nice clean looking card, or at least I think so. It is a sketch from Lauren. I don't often use Sahara Sand so I pulled it out to use as a base. I originally stamped the flowers with Ruby Red but then decided after finishing the card to add some red stickles over top. I think it looks nice. What do you think? Too much for a simple card? The scalloped edge is made with 1/2"Circles that I punched out and then glued down to the edge of the Old Olive CS.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Stem Silhouettes, Circle of Friendship
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Soft Sky, WW, Fall Flowers DP
Inks: Old Olive, Soft Sky, Ruby Red
Accessories: 1/2", 1", 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Red Stickles, Dimensionals
Merry Christmas to everyone!

Wrapping up the last of my gifts...

This is the last of my gift sets that will be going out to a friend today or tomorrow. I made a whole punch of cards with Cutie Pie DP and the stamp set A Little Birdie Told Me that will be available in January from SU! I've exchanged gifts with most of my friends already but still have a couple to see. Hopefully they don't see them on here before they get them....haha! Been holding off posting them as long as I could. I haven't had crafting time today because I have spent the morning cleaning my craft area in the baseDUMP! Ugh! It's awful down there!
I don't know if I will be back to post anything else before Christmas so......
MERRY CHRISTMAS to all!!

Birthday Present

Aren't these the CUTEST Snowman Slippers???? This was a birthday gift from Chloe! She picked them out herself when her and Brian went shopping a few weeks ago. They have little snowflake grippers on the bottom. Good thing too, since I always slip on our basement stairs...haha!

Chloe still isn't feeling too great today. I think now she's getting a chest cold. Well I can deal much better with a cold than I can a fever! Whew!

I'm off to do a little shopping this morning. Then home to clean my house before my company arrives this afternoon!

Have a WONDERFUL day!

Christmas Pics of Chloe

Today has not started off the way I had hoped it would...
Around 4 AM this morning, Chloe woke me up to tell me she was going to puke....ugh...then a fever....so it begins I thought. Wonderful....sick AGAIN for Christmas!
She finally fell back asleep around 6 AM and then woke at 8:05 all MAD at me because she'd be late for school. I kindly tried to explain that she needed that sleep and she'd feel much better. I convinced her to rest the morning. Her fever seems to be gone and she hasn't gotten sick since 4 AM. She's been BUGGING me to go to school. Today there are many activities planned for them and she doesn't want to miss out :(
I'm giving it another 30 minutes and if she is well and no fever, I'll take her.
Tonight is OILER hockey night but I told Brian to take someone else and I'll stay home with Chloe. We can catch the game on TV anyway. Besides, we always lose when I go to a game...haha! Sorry Oilers ;)
Last night was Chloe's Christmas concert at school. I managed to get a couple of pictures of her. She REALLY doesn't like getting them and the nice ones I did have, well there is a microphone stand right in her face! UGH!
I'll try to be in sometime tomorrow. It's my birthday! Another busy day!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Blog Sketch and 3D items

What a fantastic day! Only ONE more day until Christmas holidays!!!! I can't wait!!! LOL! I am sooooooooo looking forward to not having to get up so early and rush to get out each morning! No lunch program for two weeks! I'm so excited!
Tomorrow the girls from work are going for lunch at one of my fave restaurants!! YUM!
This morning I wanted to get a card done for Jen from Stamping Therapy's sketch challenge that she posted last Saturday. Yes, I'm still playing catch up here!
Now that my friend opened her Christmas gifts from me, I can show you one that I made for her. It's one of those large candles from Michael's. It's Sugar Cookie! Oh does it smell good!!
This morning on SCS was the Ways To Use It Challenge. You were to show some packaging of some kind. I needed to wrap up some odd shaped gifts, so I stamped the SnowBursts in Brocade Blue on the tissue paper. Then I wrapped it all in a plastic sack. Then tied it with some ribbon I had picked up at Walmart last month. I'd forgotten I had it...lol

Tonight is Chloe's Christmas concert at school. I am looking forward to seeing her sing and I'll try to get a few pictures that I can share tomorrow!
Have a wonderful day!

TLC, Sketch Challenge, Colour Challenge...a Triple!

I've been wanting to do all the challenges this week at SCS but other projects have had to get done first. So this afternoon I combined three challenges into one card! WHEW!
The TLC challenge was to do Diamond Dust.
The Colour Challenge was Eggplant, Wasabi, Saffron.
The layout is this one you see above ;)
I used Stampin'Up's new set that will be available in the Spring Summer catty called A Beautiful Thing. I think this card is pretty straight forward so if there is something you need to know...please ask! I'd fill in more info but time is ticking again and I'm off to the school for some more volunteer stuff!
Have a super day!!

Extra cards needed...

One of the teachers at my daughters school, asked if I could make her a few quick cards. She was short three...hehe!
So I pulled out all my scraps of Wintergreen DP and got to work. I didn't go crazy with the cards and each took between 5 -8 minutes. Now I have a few extras for me too. You just never know when you may need one ;)
You can click the pic for a larger view.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
It's going to be super busy for me.
Wednesday and Thursday we have the school Christmas concerts.
Friday afternoon the girls from school lunch program are going out for lunch to one of my fave restaurants!
Friday night Brian and I are going to the Oilers hockey game! Go Oilers(sad thing....everytime I go to a game...we lose :( haha)
Saturday is my birthday!
Sure hope you all are ready for the holidays!

Last of my Christmas cards...

Good Morning!
I'm posting really early this morning because I know I won't be home most of the day, which means no stamping :(
Yesterday morning I had a little time to get a couple cards done for Chloe's teachers. I think these are the LAST cards I needed to make! YAH!
Luckily I had two sketch challenges to work off of. So I didn't have to think too hard...I used the same basic supplies with a few embellishments.
This first one is for Jen's sketch at i{heart}2stamp.
This card is for Lauren's sketch on her blog. My darn 1 1/4"circle punch isn't working...so I had to use only one circle punch with no layering....would have been better with layering but oh well, not much I could do about it on a Sunday morning...
Hope everyone has a great week! It's sure to be busy for all of us!

Martha Boxes

Happy Sunday everyone!
This weekend is flying by and I still have quite a few things to get done before next weekend when our company arrives!
Yesterday I think I scored BIG TIME at Michael's on these Martha boxes. They are regular 9.95 for a pack of six here in Canada and were on clearance for 1.50! YAH! I bought them ALL! I had been making my own boxes as you may recall but for that price....I couldn't beat it!
Chloe and I made some of these peppermint cookie sticks. I had wanted to use those long pretzels but couldn't find them anywhere. Oh well...back up plan! We used some long Italian cookies instead. I brushed melted white chocolate on them and then rolled them in crushed candy canes. We let them set for about an hour while we stamped the boxes.
Pretty quick and simple little gift idea.
Chloe has curling this afternoon and then a little Christmas party too! I am kind of hoping that Brian will take her and I can stay home to get a few things done around here.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

Chocolate Chip and Blush Blossom Challenge

I haven't had any stamping time today! We've been so busy running here and there!
I made some little peppermint stick candies to package up and give away to friends for Christmas. Just waiting on the chocolate to harden enough before bagging it all.
These two cards are what I made for Jen's Stamping Therapy blog challenge last week. You were to use Choc Chip and Blush Blossom.
Guess what?
My first card here won! YAH! I used the new stamp set A Little Birdie Told Me which will be available in the new SU! catty starting in January.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend so far!
It's hockey night tonight....yipppeeee!
We are on a roll....how 'bout that win against the Wings the other night, eh Rose Ann;)

Challenge Card

I was rushing to get Chloe and myself ready this morning so that I could get a challenge done before heading off to school for the day.
This card is for today's Limited Supply Challenge on SCS and for Sharon's No Time To Stamp Challenge.
SCS challenge was to do a white based card and Sharon's was to do a one layer card. PERFECT to combine the two!
I used Shimmery White Cardstock and stamped the Stem Silhouettes in Rose Red and Always Artichoke. I then tied the Satin Pomegranate Ribbon with White Organdy Ribbon around the card....and it was done!
A nice simple card!
Thanks for stopping by but I've got to run and hope to be back tonight with some crafts I'm making!

New Catty Arrived!

I'm sitting here looking through the new catty! There are some things I MUST have...that's for sure! I'm hoping that my friends will be excited too! Maybe I'll get some orders in January! YAH!
Hope all my other Demo Friends are getting theirs too!
At least I have this to look at while I PACE back and forth for Mr. Brown to arrive! UGH! I'm getting antsy waiting...haha!
ETA:
It is the complimentary copy that SU! mails out! I was surprised to get it today! Now I'm wondering if it was a mistake on the Canadian side, mailing them out so early!?! Oh well...it's in my HOT little hands now...hehe!
There are GREAT samples in this catty! Some fun things like fuzzy felt flowers...I dont'want to spoil it for others though....

Christmas RAKs and Thomas Kinkade

I love checking my mailbox this time of year! Look at the goodies I received this week from Dawn Griffith and Allison Fillo! Aren't they cute???!!! Thanks girls!!!
A couple of weeks ago I received my order from Cornish Heritage Farms. I fell in love with all of the Thomas Kinkade stamps! WOW! They are simply gorgeous! I love his work and knew i had to order some stamps. I went with the fisherman guy. The stamp is called It Doesn't Get Much Better and you can find it HERE.
When Brian saw this stamp he wished me luck...I said what for? LOL...colouring that all in of course! hahaha! UMMMM I don't think so I said, these will be monochromatic!
I will get a lot of use out of this stamp! Finally my Dad won't get flowers for his birthday anymore!! I'm sure he'll be thrilled...LOL.

Hope everyone has a great day! I'm waiting for the Big Brown Truck to come today!

SC154 Card

I thought I was feeling a little better this morning but as the morning has gone on....I've gotten worse! My face hurts...darn sinus problems! I managed to make a couple of cards quickly this morning. The first one is for todays Sketch Challenge 154 on SCS. I don't have any boy baby cards on hand so thought this was a great opportunity to make one! Sorry that the picture seems fuzzy on this one.
OK...so HAHAHA! It's okay....you can laugh with me on this card! I thought all was going well with it, until I needed the liquid applique. Well it was not screwed on tight last time so it was plugged...tried to get it off...ended up cutting a bit more off the tip....well that only caused one big mess! I spread it on as best I could before heating it up. This is what I ended up with! Oh well, hopefully someone will appreciate it ;)
Those mittens are fuzzy brads that Brian picked up for me somewhere. Not sure, but they are cute! The package had a blue like this, red and white in it. That is where my colour combo came from!
Well time to head out for lunch program! Then I need to come home and make 5 cards...can't believe it is Wednesday already this week! Where has the time gone? Before we know it...
It'll be CHRISTMAS!

Happy Mail Day

LOOK at all my goodies I received yesterday in the mail! UPS came knockin'....oh was I excited!
This first photo is of all the great gifts I won on Nancy Morgan's blog Paper Smiles. She had blog challenges going for a month and I was the lucky winner! Thanks so much Nancy!
This next photo is of some goodies I received from my Secret Elf on SplitCoastStampers! She even sent a little snowman pin for Chloe! She was THRILLED! Thanks so much!
I'm not sure how much stamping I am going to be able to get done today. I have the sniffles and my head hurts...sure it's a cold coming on...ugh!
Have a fab day!

Card and Little Paint Can

I ran out of time to take pictures of some things yesterday. I had a little time to work on some sketches from the weekend. I'll start by showing this card I made for Jen's i{heart}2stamp sketch challenge. I'm going to miss this Dashing DP when it's gone :(
Think I'll order a few packages! The Oh Christmas Tree and dove stamps are from a Gel-A-Tins set that Brian gave me yesterday as an early birthday present!
A couple of weeks ago I was shopping at a local dollar store and came across these cute paint cans. I bought a couple in red, green and a rusty colour(hoping it goes with either Apple Cider or Wanted DP). Not to sure what I'll put in this tin but it will make a nice gift for Christmas for someone ;) I used the Dashing DP again and the sentiment is from Visual Verve. Love those stamps!
UPS was just here! I got a GREAT package from Nancy Morgan and a SURPRISE package from my SECRET ELF on SCS! Off to take some pics to show you all!

Chocolate Boxes

Today has been a smokin' busy day! WHEW! Where did the time go!?! I didn't have a chance to work on any of the blog sketches that I normally do...but hoping tomorrow to catch up!!
I picked up some Hershey Sticks today and thought they'd fit great in these boxes that Lauren had done on her blog. YAH! I was right! I used some My Minds Eye DP and kept the fronts simple so that I didn't take away from the gorgeous paper! You can click on the image to see it a little larger. Be sure to check out Lauren's blog HERE. She has so many FAB ideas, it makes my head spin ;) Thanks Lauren for the inspiration!
Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!

We've been ELFED!

LOL you have got to try this....

http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1238226110

My friend, Sandy, sent this to me last night with her family....cracked me up! I had to do our family too!

If you do it, please be sure to come back and let me know....I'd love to see you ;)

Stampers Showcase!!!!

OHHHHHHHHHHHH I'm so excited! I have a card in the Stampers Showcase on the SU! site this morning!!!
It is this snowman card HERE that I made for Jen's i{heart}2stamps sketch challenge awhile back.
Beate encouraged me to send in my cards....so thank you Beate!
I know many of you have been published in magazines but I'm not at that level...lol
OK thanks for letting me toot my horn this morning!!
Have a fab day!
I'll be back later today with some cards to show.

Blog challenge card and chit chat...

OK so am I the ONLY one who runs out of envelopes??? I ran out on the weekend when I was addressing my Christmas cards and birthday cards for the month of December....ugh!
So I continued at least writing INSIDE my cards and will need to get to the store soon to get envelopes. I have birthdays that have passed, birthdays coming up and I really need to get those and my holiday cards mailed....lol
Here is a card that I had made for Jen70's blog challenge last Saturday. It's one of my birthday cards I'm giving out for the month of December. I didn't stamp a sentiment on the front but wrote on the inside....good enough right?
Are you all tired of this snowman yet? hmmmmm....I'm not...lol
Supplies:
Stamps: Merry & Bright
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, WW and Winter Bright SSK
Inks: Black Stazon, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Wide Celery Ribbon, Blue Gingham, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"Circle Punch, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, White Signo Gel Pen, Dimensionals, Liquid Pearls Opal

Pink and Black Snow People Cards

Well we are still stuck in this deep freeze and it's snowing to boot...ugh! So I must apologize for my pictures today. There is NO sun so the lighting just isn't that great to get a nice picture. I'm guessing my pictures will look like this for the next 4 months at least...haha!
Both of the cards below were inspired by a card I saw Nancy Morgan make on her blog a couple of days ago. It was the cutest penguin card! I don't have that penguin but I do have snowmen ;) I loved that she used black and pink! You can see Nancy's awesome creation here.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Merry & Bright(top), Magneta(bottom), Snowflakes from Merry & Bright(on both)
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Black, WW
Inks: Pretty in Pink, Black, Regal Rose, Bashful Blue, Pumpkin, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Scallop Punch, Regal Rose Grosgrain, Black Gingham, 1 1/4", 1 3/8"Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Liquid Pearls Opal(around scallop)

Hope everyone has a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Good-bye....

To FROSTY....
He is finally retiring at the end of this year...for years he was my favourite snowman! I hadn't pulled him out yet this year and thought I better do it soon....why not today!
I know a lot of demos are glad to see him go, but I really did like this guy...he was great to stamp on tiles, on candles and of course cards! He was always a favourite of my stamping friends too! I'll tuck him away in a safe spot to use for years to come!
This first card below is of a sketch that Maria posted on her blog Stampin Inspirations by Maria. Be sure to check out her blog! She's doing some blog candy too ;)
It hasn't been stated yet but since this Dashing Paper has River Rock in it, then it will be retiring too...it has to be since they change the In Colours each year. So my next few cards all have the DP and Frosty.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day!
ETA: When I say that the Dashing DP will retire....I can't see it being in the new catty for Spring and Summer....it may be on the dormant list until June 30th though. I was thinking it will be on the accessories list that comes out Dec. 10th. The In Colours stay til June 30th.

BRAK from DottieK and a couple other cards...

OMG....now it is not only COLD here -28C but we are having a ton of snow! UGH! Last week I wasn't sure what was worse, cold and no snow or lots of snow and warmer....well now I have a mix of both! Have I told you how much I hate shovelling???!!!! Oh how I'd love to live somewhere with no snow....it's such a long winter here.
I did have some sunshine come in my mailbox today though!!! Dottie K sent me this beautiful Birthday RAK card through Jen's BRAK club. My birthday isn't for a couple of weeks still but it's so nice to know that it won't be forgotten this year! I have a few special friends who don't forget but with it being 3 days before Christmas....you know where I'm going....lol
So THANK YOU DOTTIE!!! Made my day!!
Not sure what the heck happened with this picture? I think the battery on my camera needs to be recharged. I had been wanting to make another Hanna Card lately and since I had some DP cut I used it for this card too!
Jen from Stamping Therapy puts out a challenge each week on her blog. I didn't get to last weeks challenge so I was sure NOT to miss this go 'round! She asked us to use Faux Stitching on our cards. Now many of you know, this is really the closest I get to sewing on cards...lol. I've only pulled out my machine a few times. This is my first card for her challenge. I'll make another one with my All in a Row stamp, later while watching the hockey game and in between shovelling ;)

Coaster Project, Featured Stamper and Blog Challenge

Earlier today Brian and Chloe went off shopping for Christmas presents. It was nice that they got to do that together today! Brian had been gone for a week and Chloe was really excited to spend the morning with him doing stuff with JUST Dad ;)

I had a chance to work on some challenges from today.
This first project wasn't a challenge though...LOL
Last week while shopping with my neighbour, Lisa, we found some of these cool glass coasters at a local dollar store. We HAD to buy them!
They measure 3.5 x 3.5. I cut down some of my chipboard coasters to that size then glued a piece of Dashing DP to each one. Then I stamped and punched out the snowman from Merry & Bright and layered him with cardstock. I also cut a piece of cardstock to run along the bottom and stamped it as well. I couldn't figure out a good way to attach the glass to the paper though. I used Crystal Effects and it is holding really good BUT you can see it in the corners. Anyone have a better idea? Please share it with me....I have another 8 coasters after these 4 and I'd love to do them up and give them as gifts!

This next card is for todays Featured Stamper on SCS. It's ROSE ANN! YAH! I was so excited to see it was her today....couldn't decide which card to CASE of hers. There are soooooooo many fabulous creations in her gallery! I ended up casing THIS card of hers. I changed the papers and the stamp set but kept the same layout and idea! Thanks so much Rose Ann!

A little while ago, Lori from Inking Aloud sent me some wonderful stamped images in the mail! I so love these shopping ladies....it's so me! I wanted to colour some in today and use up some paper that Brian had bought me from Cosmo Cricket.

I really enjoy doing the Just Because We Wanna Challenge each Sunday that Jeanne or Sherry put out as well. It has been a couple of weeks since I was able to do one. This weeks challenge was to do a FISHY card. I needed a boys bday card and I thought this would be perfect!

I am having computer problems today and my laptop keeps shutting off on me. I am on my husbands MAC right now so I don't have time to fill in all the details. If there is something you need to know...just ask me ;)
Have a super night!

Sketch Challenges

Thank goodness it is the weekend and I don't HAVE to go outside if I don't want to! It's been so chilly here and it looks like that weather is going to continue for a bit longer....
Chloe has gone off with the neighbour to see that new movie Enchanted...hope she has a blast!
I had some time while the laundry was going to work on a couple of sketch challenges. This first one is from Lauren's sketch. Be sure to check it out! I used the retired set called Yule Bits and Borders.
Jen from i{heart}2stamp had a great sketch on her blog today too! I so enjoy doing these girls Saturday sketches. Sometimes there aren't enough hours in the day to do them on Saturdays but today I was lucky ;)
Not sure about any of you but I always have issues with Real Red and drying....you can see in BOTH cards that I smeared it! UGH!
I am going to miss this set Flaky Friends. I LOVE these guys!
Hope everyone has a safe and happy weekend!
