A few challenge cards!

Happy New Year's Eve!
Wow can you believe it's almost 2009?! The years are certainly flying by as we get older...lol
I've got a few challenge cards to share with you today.
This first one is for an All That Scraps challenge that Christine gave us. We were to make a card with snowflakes but no Christmas paper. I found a little bit of this old My Mind's Eye and it was perfect for the challenge! I used another one of the adorable Gingersnap images for my card.
Stamps: Gingersnaps, Christmas Sentiments by AmyR; Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Choc chip, Sage Shadow, WW and My Mind's Eye DP; Inks: Adirondack Black and Choc Chip; Accessories: Label Nesties, SU scalloped edge punch, Martha pearls, Ghost Snowflakes, Gingham Ribobn, Dimensionals, Copics
The Holiday Challenge Extravaganza #11 was to do Paper Tole. I love the look of paper tole but I am not good at cutting things that are too small. I decided to use this super cute image from H & M Stamps set called A Lil' Behind.
Stamps: A Lil' Behind; Cardstock: So Saffron, Bashful Blue Textured, WW and Jr. Varsity DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Label Nesties, Copics, White Brads, Glue Pen, Glitter, Dimensionals
The colour challenge on SCS was Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter and So Saffron. To me it screamed Christmas at first....not sure why...once I got over the initial shock of Handsome Hunter...this is what I came up with.
Stamps: A Light Unto my Path; Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Handsome Hunter, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Jr. Varsity DP; Inks: Burgundy, Black; Accessories: Long Curvy Rectangle Nesties, Silver Brads, Dimensionals
Thanks for stopping by today!
BEST WISHES for a Happy and Healthy 2009!!!

Looking for Copics

Hi girls!
I'm hoping you can help me! Last week someone emailed me about Copics and which ones I started with. I shared where I had bought most of mine from All That Scraps.
They emailed back saying they found a place in Alberta that sells them....think it was Calgary. Do you know where that might be? If so, would you mind sharing....lol
I have ordered from Curry's Art Supply but I have 6 things on back order and they don't know when they will be in....so I need to try elsewhere.
Thanks for your help!
ETA: Thank you everyone!!! I've found Stampin and Scrappin here in Alberta and she has great prices and great selection of products...check it out!

Simplicity

You have to love when you can combine two challenges into one! That's what I did here for this Simplicity card.
I used Julee's Mojo sketch and Bethany's Challenge to alter an embellishment.
It's been a LONG time since I pulled out my Unity stamps. When I found this October Afternoon DP in the drawer I knew what set I wanted to use immediately! For my altered embellishment I covered a button with tacky tape and dumped on glitter!
Stamps: Giggle grove, Gratitude=Joy; Cardstock: Kraft, Very Vanilla, October Afternoon dp; Inks: Adirondack Espresso; Accessories: MM buttons, tacky tape, glitter, twill, linen thread, dimensionals
Yesterday on SCS the Try a New Technique Challenge was Fun and Funky Folds. I decided to try another Squash Book that Alli wrote for Scor Pal. I added chipboard coasters to the front and back. Hoping to give this to my parent's as part of their anniversary gift in a few months. I'll fill the inside with pictures of Chloe.
Stamps: Verve's Asian Flair; Cardstock: Apricot, Sage Shadow, WW and DP; Inks: Black; Accessories: Oval Nesties, Primas, Rhinestone Brad, Celery Grosgrain, Dimensionals

Just Because

Good Morning!
Sunday was a lazy day around the house. I did some laundry, chatted on the phone with some friends and did a little stamping. Some of which I can't show yet but later this week previews will begin.
I played along with the Featured Stamper #99 on SCS.
I chose to case THIS card of Barbara's. I loved the butterfly theme!
See my stitching mistake? I didn't really mean to do that but it was a happy oopsie! I think it turned out cute like that...lol
The only stamping was with the Verve set called Fluttering By for the sentiment.
Stamps: Verve Fluttering By; Cardstock: So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Washington Apple DP; Inks: Black; Accessories: Martha Butterfly Punch, Circle Punches, Circle Nesties, Sewing, Martha Jewels, Dimensionals

Blog sketch cards

Good Morning!
Has this past week felt extra long or is it just me? Maybe I'm just worn out from all the holiday hoopla? I am looking forward to getting my house back to normal. I hate clutter and right now it's cluttered...ugh!
Yesterday afternoon I decided to work on a couple more cards. I needed another thank you card to pop in the mail and thought I'd use Taylor's sketch again. It's definitely a GREAT sketch that I'll use again and again!
Stamps: Upsy Daisy; Cardstock: Tangerine, Olive, Saffron, WW and Haiku dp; Inks: Tangerine, Olive; Accessories: Small Corner Rounder Punch, Martha Mini Pearls, Making Memories Buttons and Blossoms, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Dimensionals
This second card was made using Jen's sketch on her blog.
Stamps: Inspired by Nature; Cardstock: Choc chip, Old Olive, So Saffron, WW and Haiku dp; Inks: Saffron, Olive, Pumpkin; Accessories: Antique Brads, Paper Snips, Quickie Glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds, Dimensionals, Sizzix Corner Die

Super Saturday!

Good Morning!
I've got some challenge cards to share with you today. I hope you will be able to play along.
This first one is for the Our Creative Corner Challenge.
This week Julee challenged the girls to add some clear element to our cards. I'm sure you have noticed how much I'm loving heart ghost shapes lately ;)
Being that my wonderful husband bought me a ton of goodies for Christmas I had to use some for this card. The Bo Bunny DP, Heart Ghost Shapes and Bo Bunny Felt Brads were all a gift!
Stop by the OCC girl's blogs to see their wonderful creations up close:
My next card is a combo of Lauren's Saturday Sketch and the OCC challenge again. More heart shapes! This one uses my new Sizzix Heart Die again and My Mind's Eye Irresistable DP that Brian gave me ;) I've used the super sweet Gingersnap Angels Everywhere again for my card.

Enjoy the Little Things

Stamps: Enjoy Every Moment; Cardstock: Regal Rose, So Saffron, WW and Georgia Peach DP; Inks: Olive, Saffron, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink; Accessories: SU scalloped edge punch, paper piercer, Flower Fusion, Buttons, Linen Thread, Dimensionals, Paper Snips
Hi Everyone!
It feels sooooooooooooo good to stamp something other than Christmas stuff.
Today's challenge on SCS was to make a NON Christmas card, no red and greens or snowflakes...I think anyway...lol
I used Taylor's sketch #48 for my card.
This is a SU only card as well.
Thanks for stopping by!

Gingersnap Angels Everywhere

Happy Boxing Day!
So are any of you going to venture out in the madness for Boxing Day Sales? I don't think I am....I don't need anything as I was totally SPOILED again this year! Brian bought me so many wonderful stamping supplies from Scor Tape to paper to brads to glitter to punches to stamps to ribbon and even an extra Scor Pal! And that was just my stocking stuff :)
Today the girls at All That Scraps are doing a review/preview of the Gingersnap stamps. Aren't these Gingersnap Angels Everywhere darling?!
I made this card a few days ago after I got the Sizzix Heart Dies. I used the clear package that the dies come in to cut out my heart shape! Nothing goes to waste! I then ran the heart through the Xyron machine to make it sticky and dumped on some glitter. It was time to pull out the sewing machine too...I've been oohing and ahhhing over Jody's sewing and her tutorials so I thought I'd give it another whirl. Notice I only did ONE row of stitching...slow and steady...haha!
Stamps: Gingersnap Angels Everywhere; Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, WW and BG Designer Paper; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Nesties, Choc Ribbon, Sewing, Copics, White Gel Pen, Glitter, Xyron Machine, Sizzix Heart Dies, Dimensionals, Stardust Pen, SU scalloped edge punch

My second card using PTI supplies that my wonderful friend Michelle sent to me! Thanks Michelle...you are such a fabulous friend and I'm very blessed to have you in my life! This Thomas Kinkade image called Foxglove Cottage is a fave of mine!

I have been very blessed with many homemade cards this holiday season and I'd like to share them with you! Thank you to everyone who sent me cards!! My cards are slowing getting to their destinations...mail was super slow this year.

I've made a slide show so please enjoy!

Merry Christmas!

Challenge Cards

Happy Christmas Eve Day!
Are you ready? I've still got wrapping to do...Ok...start....lol
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and hope that you are spending the holidays with your loved ones.
Yesterday afternoon after getting home from a belated birthday lunch with a girlfriend...I went down to make a couple of challenge cards.
Now this first one frightened me....So Saffron, Cameo Coral and Orchid Opulence! Wow eh?
This is what I managed to come up with for the Colour Challenge.
Stamps: Crazy for Cupcakes; Cardstock: White, So saffron, Orchid opulence, Cameo coral; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Silver Brads, Lg Oval Punch, Scalloped Edge Punch, Stickles, Dimensionals
This card is for the Holiday Extravaganza Challenge #4.
You were to to make a birthday card with the following:

3 punches
The only embellishment could be ribbon.
I used the Flight of the Butterfly and the sentiment from Crazy for Cupcakes.
Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly, Crazy for Cupcakes; Cardstock: So Saffron, Bashful Blue Textured, WW and Washington Apple DP; Inks: Black, Riding Hood Red; Accessories: 1 3/4" circle punch, Scalloped edge punch, Photo corner punch, Riding Hood Red Ribbon, Dimensionals

Mojo66 cards

Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes yesterday! It really made my day!
I had a wonderful birthday just relaxing and stamping! I got a lot of nice gifts from my friends and family. Brian spoiled me as always too!
After my company left, I sat down to make a couple of cards using Julee's Mojo66 sketch. The beehive image was stamped and coloured the other day when I made the last card. I was so excited to find this Scenic Route DP in my scrap bin! It's perfect for this image, don't you agree? I'm sure SU! will come out with something that will go with it but we'll have to wait until January. Until then, this will be a good substitute.
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By; Cardstock: Old Olive, So Saffron, WC paper and Scenic Route DP; Inks: Black Stazon, So Saffron, More Mustard, Old Olive, Close to Cocoa; Accessories: Aqua Painter, Nesties, SU scalloped edge punch, Dimensionals, misc jewels
I couldn't stop at just one card...lol
So I made this next one using H & M stamps. We bought Chloe the Disney Sing It for Christmas and I'm going to attach this card to the gift. I'm going to see if she can guess what the gift is before opening it ;)
I used the super cute set called Livin The Girls Life.
Stamps: Livin The Girls Life; Cardstock: Real Red, Bashful Blue Textured, WW and Three Bugs in a Rug DP; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: Copics, Small Star Punch, Misc Sparkle buttons, Bashful Blue Striped ribbon, Dimensionals

Good Monday Morning!

Today's my birthday! Gosh, where do the years go?! When I was a kid we only ever had family birthday parties as everyone is so busy at this time of year. Now that I'm older, I'm happy to be busy with Christmas and forget about my birthday....lol

These next two cards are made with my thank you's in mind.

This first one was made for the SCS Holiday Extravaganza #2.

I was finally able to ink up my new SU! set called Just Buzzin' By that will be available in the new catty come January. I watercoloured the image and you can see I'm out of practice but had fun!
Stamps: Just Buzzin' By; Cardstock: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, WC paper and Jr. Varsity DP; Inks: Black Stazon, Bashful Blue, Choc Chip, So Saffron, Summer Sun, More Mustard, Blush Blossom; Accessories: Aqua Painter, scalloped edge punch, circle nesties, may arts ribbon, rich regal brads, dimensionals
This next card is for Cindy's MFT sketch challenge #61.

I pulled out the super cute Flopsy for my card. He's so much fun to colour!

I moved the sentiment to the top of the image panel as I had too much empty space. I suppose I could have filled it in with a flower or buttons or paper piercing but this was the easiest thing to do...lol

Stamps: MFT; Cardstock: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, White and Jr. Varsity; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Bashful Blue and Old Olive Grosgrain, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Dimensionals

Thank You Cards

I'm finally moving on to Thank You cards. Although I really enjoy making Christmas cards, I'm always happy when it comes to an end.

This first one is for Taylor's sketch on her blog TECC47.

It's been a long time since I've used any Unity stamps and this cupcake has always been a fave of mine!
Stamps: Cupcakes ala Yummy!, Pocket Silhouettes; Cardstock: Regal Rose, choc chip, Pumpkin, Pretty in Pink, WW and American crafts dp; Inks: Adirondack black, choc chip; Accessories: Copics, Regal Rose Ribbon, Brads, Mat pack and Paper piercer, Circle Nesties, Dimensionals

Here is a card I made using Jen's sketch on her blog i{heart}2stamp.

This is a SU! only card but it does use some retired Hodge Podge Hardware and the Circle of Friendship stamp set. I'm so glad I didn't part with that set. It has so many fabulous sentiments in it for all occasions.

I hope that everyone is staying warm and dry! It's bitterly cold here still and looks to stay that way until next weekend. So glad we are NOT set to travel for the holiday.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Season of Friendship, Circle of Friendship; Cardstock: Baja, Red, Choc, WW, Ski Slope DP; Inks: Choc, Red, Baja; Accessories: Top note die, circle punches, red grosgrain, HPH, paper piercer, dimensionals

Bubs the Beaver

Good Morning!
Finally we are on Christmas Break! Yeah! I'm so looking forward to relaxing in the mornings...no rush rush rush for two whole weeks!
This has been a busy week and there are so many different things going on here that I didn't have a whole lot of stamping time yesterday. So....I combined my two Saturday Challenges.
The Our Creative Corner Challenge that Julee gave us was to make an Anniversary card or a lovey card for someone. Hop on over to the OCC blog to see what super cool prize you could possibly win ;)
Today is Julee's Wedding Anniversary....Happy Anniversary Julee!
I used Lauren's Saturday Sketch for my card :)
A little about my card:
I used the super cute Bubs The Beaver set from Our Craft Lounge for the image and the sentiment is from Verve's Feeling Groovy. The chipboard circle heart shape was covered with Soft Baby Pink Flower Soft. That stuff is SO cool! I punched a choc chip cs circle and glued it to the back of the heart shape.
Stamps: Our Craft Lounge Bubs The Beaver, Verve Feeling Groovy; Cardstock: Regal Rose, Choc Chip, Shimmery White, American Crafts DP; Inks: Adirondack Black, Choc Chip; Accessories: Copics, Corner Rounder, Chipboard Circle Heart, Pink Flower Soft, Dimensionals, Buttons

Top Note Nugget Wrap

Good Morning!
Yesterday I had a great time crafting with Chloe's class! I hope the kids did as well!!
I'm behind on little gifts for my co-workers at the school so I whipped up these cool little treat holders last night. I saw the tutorial on Andrea Walford's blog HERE. It's called a Top Note Nugget Wrap. I didn't have time to wrap each nugget and I didn't have enough nuggets to fill the small cello bag so I used some Vanilla Tootsie Rolls as well.
Stamps: Cute and Curly; Cardstock: Choc Chip, WW and Ski Slope DP; Inks: Kiwi or Baja; Accessories: Top note die, curly punch, silver elastic cord, kiwi or baja ribbon, slot punch
Here's a batch I just finished!

Sketch Cards

Good Morning!
Today I'm running off to the school to do a really cute snowman card with Chloe's class. Dawn Griffith had done THIS one awhile back and I thought the grade 4 class would enjoy making it for their parents! Dawn has the best ideas and I'm so happy to CASE her today! Thanks Dawn for sharing it!
Yesterday on SCS I participated in the sketch challenge. Roxie had given a square card and an A2 size for examples. You know what that means...I'm going to do one of each...lol
This first one is a SU! only card. I stamped the Upsy Daisy in White Craft and embossing with Detail White Embossing Powder.
Stamps: Upsy Daisy; Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, WW, Hawaiian DP; Inks: Craft White; Accessories: White EP, Silver Brads, Dimensionals, Mat pack and Paper piercer
Here is my second card for the sketch. I used the H & M stamp set called My Favorite Valentine. It's such a CUTE set!
This card measures 4.25 x 4.25
Stamps: My Favorite Valentine; Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Choc chip, White and American Crafts DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Dimensionals

Brrrrrrrr it's cold!

Good Morning!
Woke up to more snow and more cold -24C with windchill(-9F). I guess I shouldn't complain since winter really only arrived for us last week. Typically we see it late October around Halloween or early November. So this little extra time has been a nice suprise! Last night was Chloe's Christmas Concert at school. I hope I got a few good pics but will have to wait til I charge my battery again....lol
Yesterday afternoon I worked on some more thank you cards. I know this seems like a strange one to give in December or January after Christmas but I also have an upcoming birthday and it's nice to send thank you's for the gifts I receive.
This is a SU! only card. Can you tell I'm loving the die cut and curly punch??? ;)
Stamps: Tart & Tangy; Cardstock: Kraft, Real Red and Summer Picnic DP; Inks: Real Red, Choc Chip, Old Olive; Accessories: Curly Punch, Top Note Die, Silver Brads, Dimensionals
Remember this bookmark for a couple of weeks ago?
Stamps: A Touch of Class; Cardstock: Real Red, White, American Crafts DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Corner Rounder punch, Heidi Swapp Ghost Flower, Prima, Rhinestone Brad, Real Red Striped ribbon, Bookmark
Today it's Whachadoin' Wednesday at Storage Unit, Inks & More. This week Mary Jo challenged the girls to create a card to hold a gift. Well that bookmark I made a few weeks ago needed something right? Well I used the word window punch to make a hole wide enough for the bookmark to slid down into. The ghost snowflake stops it from going in too far.
I will give this to Chloe for Christmas with a few books that we picked up at Chapters. She loves to read which is a wonderful thing and I want to encourage her as much as we can.
Supplies for the card
Stamps: A Touch of Class; Cardstock: Real Red, White, American Crafts DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Word Window Punch, Circle Punches, Silver Brad, Nesties, Dimensionals
