Origami Boxes

Well yesterday didn't turn out to be very nice....the kids stayed inside again for recess because of the windchill. I swear to goodness...the weather better turn around soon or I'm going to lose it!
I have so much stuff to do around the house but with the weather so cold I would rather just craft...so that's what I did....lol
The SCS challenge was to make an Origami Box and you can find the link HERE.
This first box is smaller than the instructions as I wanted a SU! only project that could done with a club.
This is what I changed from the tutorial:
The DP is an 8 x 8 square...folded the same way.
The Riding Hood Red is an 8 x 3 1/2 piece of cardstock that is scored at 3 1/4 from both ends.
Since the box is smaller I found the cardstock to be sturdy enough...no need for chipboard ;)
Stamps: Love You Much; Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Candy Lane dp; Inks: Close to Cocoa, Bravo Burgundy Marker; Accessories: Scalloped edge punch, Scalloped punch, Circle punch, Heart Trio punch, Riding Hood Taffeta ribben, Dimensionals
This box was made using the directions on SCS. I've used the My Favorite Valentine set from H & M Stamps with more yummy American Crafts DP! Are you surprised? LOL!
Stamps: My Favorite Valentine; Cardstock: Real Red, White, Choc Chip and American Crafts Romance dp; Inks: Adirondack Espresso; Accessories: Copics, Nesties, Oval punch, Key Tag punch, Ghost heart, Heart Trio punch, Dimensionals, May Arts choc ribbon

My love for American Crafts DP!

Good Morning!
Did you all enjoy the weekend?
Our weather was so nice on Saturday but Sunday...it was downhill...lol....lots of wind and blowing snow...YUCKY!
I stayed inside where it was warm and dry!
This was a card I made for Sunday's Featured Stamper Judy aka Jaydekay. I CASED her cards HERE.
I love this American Crafts DP and matching ribbon!! It's so bright and fun!!
Stamps: Stampendous Changito Bouquet, Best Yet; Cardstock: Old Olive, Choc chip, White and American Crafts DP; Inks: Memento Black; Accessories: American Crafts Ribbons, Copics, Rectangle nesties, Small corner rounder punch, Dimensionals
Since I had my bin of American Crafts Designer Paper I out and the weather turned quite nasty...I decided to make another All Boxed Up set using the DP. There is no stamping on this project. The cards inside the box are plain janes and can be used for anything!
I used these basic supplies:
Cardstock: Old Olive, Choc Chip, PTI white and American Crafts DP
Accessories: American Crafts Ribbon, Choc Satin Ribbon, Scalloped Edge Punch, Circle Nesties
This was a super easy project but does take some time. I can't seem to print the templates out on my cardstock so I now have a template with the scoring and cutting marked off.
You can buy this template from PTI. It's one of Lauren's Timeless Templates and is called All Boxed Up.
An open shot of the All Boxed Up set:
Here are the first and second cards:
Here are the third and fourth cards:

Sweetness!

Good Morning!
Yesterday we enjoyed some balmy weather here in Edmonton....right around the freezing mark!
After doing a few errands yesterday I was able to start cleaning my stamp area up and organizing a bunch of things. After oh...about 20 minutes I was ready to just stamp...lol so I did!
I worked on a couple of sketch challenges. This first one uses Jen's SFYTT.
I don't often make cards without at least a small piece of designer paper but I just couldn't make it work on this card. I did get my colours from a piece of dp though. Some American Crafts... Romance Line. Isn't this Gingersnap image cute?! She's from CC Designs and the set is called Gingersnaps Hey Cupid!
Here is a card I made using Taylor's TECC50 sketch. I've stamped the Inkadinkado Birthday Cupcake images in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with my copic markers. I used some Circle Nesties to cut them out and dimensionals to pop them up. It's hard to tell in the picture but I added some Stardust Gelly Pen to the tops of each cupcake.
I have an extra Inkadinkado Birthday Cupcakes(thanks to my wonderful husband)that I'd like to offer up as a little blog candy. In order to have a chance to win...tell me what your favourite stamping embellishment is these days. One entry per person please. Don't forget to leave your email or blog address so I can find you ;) I will do a random org draw on Monday morning when I get online.
Thanks for stopping by today!

It's all about friendship!

Good Morning!
Today I'm off to meet my friend Peggy, who owns PaperWorksCo to pick up my batch of Copic markers I ordered the other day! I'm so excited!
First I'd like to share some of my challenge cards with you....there are three so be sure to scroll all the way down ;)
This first one was for the Limited Supplies Challenge on SCS. I love to do this challenge each week but it drives me insane when people can't follow a few simple rules. I had to stop commenting yesterday on SCS because I'm not a rule breaker and rule breakers were upsetting me....lol
These were the rules:
*Stamps: Any (bonus points for using a heart image!)
*Paper: any + red...any shade of red
*if you use a punch or die it must be heart shaped
*if you use embossing folders...they must have a heart
*if you use an accessory it MUST be heart shaped or red
*if you use designer paper...yup you guessed it, red or hearts!
I can't tell you how many people I saw using embellishments that weren't red or hearts...that used nesties that weren't heart shaped....that used DP that wasn't red or had hearts....oh I could go on and on...but I'll get off my soapbox now....lol
Stamps: Love You Much; Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla and Bo Bunny DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Heart Punch, Heart Trio Punch, Primary Dew Drops, Quickie glue pen, Bo Bunny Brad, Dimensionals
This next card is a combo of two of my Saturday challenges. First it uses Lauren's sketch and also the OCC - 2 shades of blue challenge. I went super simple with this card but I really like the look! Want to see what the Saturday Sketch Team has done:

Stamps: A Little Somthin'; Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, WW and Washington Apple DP; Inks: Bashful Blue, NQN; Accessories: Circle Nesties, Grosgrain, Dew Drops, Paper piercer, Dimensionals, Prima, Silver Brad

Challenge cards

Yesterday was a HAPPY day at our house! I've looked through the new catty and made a big list of things...now to decide WHAT to order ;) With Sale-A-Bration next month I'm tossing up the idea of ordering a few things now and then a HUGE order when Sale-A-Bration starts.
While anxiously awaiting my delivery yesterday I sat down to work on the Way To Use It Challenge on SCS. It was all about stars. My husband bought me tons of stamping goodies for Christmas and this Bo Bunny DP and brads were some of them. I've used a new set from SU! called Love You Much and coloured the letters with my Copic markers.
Stamps: Love You Much; Cardstock: Real Red, Pretty in Pink, WW and Bo Bunny DP; Inks: Adirondack Black; Accessories: Copics, Label nesties, Scalloped edge punch, Small star punch, Bo Bunny Brads, Dimensionals
Here is another card for the WT200 challenge....not too sure where I was going with this....but I used up some old scraps.
Stamps: A Little Somethin; Cardstock: Kraft, Old Olive, Choc chip, WW and American Crafts DP; Inks: Pretty in Pink, Choc chip craft ink; Accessories: Chipboards stars, Large star punch, dimensionals
This was my last card made for Verve's challenges. Now I have a complete set!

Challenge Cards

Holy freakin' dina! You know what is supposed to come today?! The new SU! catty! It says delivery TODAY! I'm sure like most of you....I'll be stalking the postal dudes...haha! ETA: Got my catties!!!
Have you all been to the Verve Forum on SCS lately? Julee has some fabulous challenges going on this week. If you play along, there is a chance you could win some of her new stamps coming out this week!!! These started on Monday so I had a little work to do to catch up. After doing the first card which was a colour challenge....Kraft, Riding Hood Red, Blush Blossom....I decided to do all the cards with the same basic supplies. I'm hoping that the 4th challenge will fit into this set but if not, oh well! I used the Verve Set called Serenity.
This is my first card:
Here is my second challenge card:
Here is the third challenge card:
This is a card I made using the Calling All Angels set from H & M Stamps. It was made using the Sketch Challenge on SCS. I can't recall the last time I used Pixie Pink....probably for a colour challenge....lol but it did go well with the Romance Line by American Crafts.
Thanks for stopping by today!

Good Wednesday Morning!

A word of advice?! BEFORE deciding to make a shaker card....be sure you have all the elements...lol
I was so excited to play with my new stamps/papers and wanted to use some cool beads and glitter that Brian gave me for Christmas....that I didn't look for acetate....ummmm you can't make a shaker without it....lol Of course I didn't realize it until I was putting it all together....so this is a nice window card instead! I *know* I have tons of acetate somewhere...maybe it's with my Flight of the Butterfly set ;o)
Stamps: Love Ya Much; Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, WW and Candy Lane DP; Inks: Black; Accessories: Label nesties, Scallop punch, 1" circle punch, Heart Punch, Riding Hood Taffeta ribbon, dimensionals
ACK! Did you see the CC for yesterday???Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie and Garden Green. I was freaking out when I saw it was Garden Green! Puke puke puke! After the inital shock, I remembered....ah-ha! I had some Jersey Shore DP in my stash! Jackpot! Ok so it's probably Wild Wasabi in the DP but shhhhhh you can't tell ;) Once I found the DP....I knew I could make it work! Yippee! I pulled out the Pun Fun set and watercoloured with my aqua painter and ink pads.
Stamps: Pun Fun; Cardstock: White, Brilliant Blue, Garden Green, WC paper and Jersey Shore DP; Inks: Black Stazon, Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Summer Sun; Accessories: Aqua painter, Pumpkin ribbon, Word window punch, Label nesties, Silver cord, Dimensionals

Stamps: Rock-On; Cardstock: Kraft, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Brilliant Blue, WW and Jersey Shore DP; Inks: Brilliant Blue, Pumpkin Pie, Black; Accessories: 1 3/4" circle punch, Dimensionals

Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning!
Today I hope to play with my new SU! goodies that arrived last evening around dinner. I had no time to stamp last night because I was watching tons of hockey!
Julee has a new Mojo Monday blog that you can find HERE. I love working on her sketches each week and what's better this week? A prize of course! Now I don't normally win things but I do enjoy playing along! LOL! This is what I came up with using her sketch.

My nephew is having a birthday this month and from what I understand they are really into one of those Rock Band games or something....lol So I thought this would be a fun card for him! Rock-On is a set from H & M Stamps who happen to be having a HUGE GARAGE SALE! I actually cased this card from a fellow H & M design team member....Neva who had actually cased JulieHHR! Do you think the scalloped edge is too girly for a boys card?
