A sad day....

Well not really....I'm just a little sad that today is the last day for the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges over at SCS! I had such a fun week creating all these cards!!! I managed to get 3 out of the 4 challenges done today. I even did 2 for the Black Challenge! I will TRY to get the last one done tonight. If not, tomorrow is another day!!
This card was a challenge to make a Tag Card. I've never done one of these before! Also you were supposed to use only ONE stamp set ;) I love how it turned out!
This one was a Layout Challenge. Three panels across the bottom. I actually struggled with this card. I just couldn't quite find the RIGHT stamp set to use. So I ended up with Garden Whimsy again....love that set!

These last two cards were for the Black Challenge. You were supposed to use a little black to make your card POP! Those that know me, know black along with Earth Elements are my least fave colours ;)

Managed to SQUEEZE one DTGD card in...

My friend and upline, Diane, came by this afternoon to show me all her goodies from Convention! WOW! We sat for a couple of hours looking through all her swaps. There are definitely some great artists out there. Amazing stuff!
Since she was here most of the afternoon, taking up all my time....LOL....Just kiddin'....I only had time to get one card made for todays challenge! I'll be catching up tomorrow! There were FOUR great ones today. This card was easy to make. I still had this strip of paper on my desk from last week. We were supposed to use an animal stamp and colour him blue and green. Paper matched perfectly then! I HAD to use it ;)
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Zoofari and Seeing Spots
Cardstock: Blue Bayou, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Whisper White and Scenic Route DP
Inks: Blue Bayou and Old Olive
Accessories: Corner Punch, 1/2", 1 3/8", 1 1/2" Circle Punches, Rhinestone Brads Ice Circles and Dimensionals

Had to get a couple cards in early....

It is RACE DAY afterall and most of you know where my butt is planted during the race! In front of the big screen tv! LOL

I had to get a couple cards done for the SCS Dirty Dozen Challenges today first!

The Reindeer card was a layout challenge. I think those reindeer are sooooooo cute too! They rank right up there with my snowman, my first love!

This second card is for another Challenge by JanTink. You had to use Pale colours, like Pastels! Now those are my normal colours! WHEW! I tend to go through more packs of soft subtles than any of the others. I didn't want to stamp any kind of sentiment on the card. I figure it can be used for anything then.

I have made so many cards lately I think it's time for me to get some RAKs in the mail!! I'll have to go check the updated listed on SCS! Then hit the post office for stamps!

All supplies for this card are Stampin'Up!
Stamp Set: Garden Whimsy
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Barely Banana, Whisper White and Sarah DP
Inks: Certainly Celery and Barely Banana
Accessories: Soft Subtles Brads, Paper Piercer, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Blue Ribbon from Seaside Original Ribbons, Corner Rounders, Photo Corner Punch and Dimensionals

A few more Dare to Get Dirty Cards

I'm so enjoying this week and wish it never ends! There are still another few days of the challenges and I hope to get many more done still!
I love love love this snowman! Isn't he adorable??? This card was for a layout challenge on todays Dare to Get Dirty Cards. The colour looks a little off sorry! Trust me, it's Almost Amethyst, Bashful Blue and POP paper.
My dear husband bought me some new DP today! It is DCWV Pocket Full of Posies Stack! Love the glitter on it. Not sure if you can see it or not. The butterfly stamp is one I picked up on my holiday travels earlier this month. I used Lavender Lace, Elegant Eggplant and Soft Sky with it.

This last card was for Jen's Dare to Get Dirty on SCS today. She gave some sample colours to use and I was happy that she did that! She wanted to have BRIGHT cards made. I'd never have put together Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise and Purely Pomegranate! The Designer Paper is from my new DCWV stack.

More Dirty Dare Challenges

Today was such a busy day with Chloe's birthday party I didn't have any time to come and stamp until this evening! It's hot out and we are all in the basement so I didn't have to feel guilty leaving them upstairs while I crafted! Everyone joined me here!
Be sure to check out the SCS Dirty Dare Challenges HERE! You will have to be a club member to see and do these though....so join up! It's fun!
This first card was for todays sketch challenge for the Dirty Dare! I'm having so much fun doing these each day!
The second card I am actually going to give my nephew for his 7th birthday next week! One of the challenges from yesterday was to use FUN FLOCK. Well I didn't have any, until TODAY! YAH! I had ordered some online last week and all of them arrived this afternoon. I KNEW I wanted to use it ASAP! I used the scrap pieces of Scenic Route DP from my last challenge cards. I sure hope Braden likes this card!

I was excited to see a PINK challenge for today! I had this pink giraffe stamped for a bit now and thought I'd just make it into a baby card. I don't know anyone to give this card to right now but I'll put it in my stash of cards. Someday I'll need it for someone. This card used almost all Stampin'Up! supplies:
Stamp Sets: Wild About You and Riveting
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Whisper White and Petals and Paisley DP
Inks: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: Word Window Punch, 1 3/8 Punch and 1 1/2 Punch, Rich Regal Brads, Pink Grosgrain and 7/8" White Organdy Ribbon

What a surprise!

WOW! I can't believe I was nominated for Rockin'Girl Blogger! I'm so new to this blogging world. Thank you so much Angie! Be sure to check out her FANASTIC blog Chic n' Scratch

I can't think of anyone who blogs that hasn't been nominated yet! Sorry! Be sure check my sidebar for awesome blogs to visit though!

Happy 8th Birthday Chloe!

Today is our daughter, Chloe Mae's, 8th birthday! We are going to Chuck E. Cheese with a few friends and her cousins. I'm sure the kids will have a blast there! Then we will come back and the kids can run through the sprinkler and jump on the trampoline in the backyard. I'll post some pics later today if I can.

I'm hoping I have a couple hours this morning to do one or two challenges from yesterday's SCS Dirty Dozen! One day of no crafting and I'm going nutty!

My Dirty Dozen Challenge Cards

I had a blast doing these challenges yesterday! The first card was a challenge to use an animal stamp...pretty easy for me since I LOVE the Retired Ruff Day set!
The second card was a challenge to over load brads. I of course forgot to see HOW many gold brads I had when I started so that is why I ended up with flower brads too.
The last card was a layout challenge. I used the DCWV Nana Kids collection for it. LOVE LOVE LOVE that paper!
I'm out and about today so I won't be able to do todays challenges until later tonight!

In the meantime I will show you a card I made a couple of days ago with the last piece of this Basic Grey DP. The flower chipboard was laying on the floor so I thought maybe that was a sign that it needed to be used!

It's so nice getting back into challenges again! I've got a lot of cards to make the next couple of weeks and these challenges really help! Thanks to everyone who posts them. I really look forward to finding something each day.

Wicked Weather

Last night we sat and watched the skies for sometime before it actually rained. The clouds were doing funny things. At one point they were a greenish colour! July 31, 1987 (20 years ago almost) we had a tornado rip through here and kill 27 people. With that Black Friday Anniversary coming up next week everyone always has that on their minds. Especially when the weather looks like this! Thankfully nothing happened last night except a bad thunder and lightening storm.

Quick Photo Book

First off, let me say....
I'm NOT much of a scrapbooker as you can tell. I think I can count on ONE hand how many scrapbooks I have made in the past...LOL Those who know me, know that pictures either stay on my computer or when they do get developed they end up in a box somewhere....ugh!
I had snapped a few pics of Chloe lately and wanted to try them in greyscale. I'm not a real lover of black and white so I knew the book needed colour. That's where my husband, Brian, came in. He chose the colours!
You can click on all the pictures to get a larger view.

Never too early to plan a SAS...

Today was a lot of fun hangin' with some friends and catching up! We decided that we need to start earlier this year with our Christmas Stack A Stamps! I think the first card on the left we will do for sure! The snowflake charms I found at Michaels or the Dollarama last year and forgot I had them til today! Love when you find goodies you forgot you had...LOL
The girls really liked the Wild Wasabi with the Real Red and Banana or So Saffron. Another fun thing was that I pulled out the Cuttlebug. Haven't used it too much lately. I said there are tons of GREAT stamps coming in the Holiday Mini so I'll pre-order them next month and get a head start on some cards for the SAS! Typically, I use only Stampin' Up! but with my CLOSE friends I use whatever else they like to add! It's not really a workshop when you are with them! It's a girls afternoon ;)
I also managed to do an Earth Elements card today! YAH! Funny that I wear these sorts of colours but I don't like to create with them too often. Ok so I LOVE Chocolate Chip but besides that...I pass on most of the others most of the time.

Fintastic Friends

Well here it is....the first card that I am going to do tomorrow! It's simple enough so that it doesn't take away from our eatin' & chattin' session! After all that is the reason we are getting together! I'd just like to have a couple cards for them to do and take home with them!
All supplies used are Stampin'Up!
Stamp Set: Whale Wishes and So Many Sayings

Inks: Purely Pomegranate and Blue Bayou
Accessories: Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon in Soft Sky and Purely Pomegranate, Paper Piecering Tools and Tab Punch

Happy Anniversary to Michelle and Rob!

A very good friend of mine, Michelle is celebrating her anniversary today! Congrats to Michelle and Rob. We wish you both many more happy years together! Enjoy your day together with no kids....LOL
Sorry I didn't send a card.....ummmmm.....ya....don't have a good excuse and I won't even try and make one up....haha

Just a couple of challenges

This card was made for the WT122 Challenge at SCS today. It is all about corners! Be sure to check it out!

This card measures 5.25 x 5.25.

I can see myself using the new Garden Whimsy set OFTEN the next few months. I think it will be a great set to scrapbook with! Chloe LOVES the snail!

Again I'm using up scraps of Basic Grey before the new stuff comes out.

Yesterday's sketch challenge on SCS can be found HERE.
I knew right away that I wanted to use this little cupcake stamp I picked up while on holidays! I have been hunting for one like this for sometime now and about gave up. So glad that I didn't....LOL

I added some coloured glitter that I got as well. Sure adds to a card doesn't it?!

The Designer Paper is All My Memories and the ribbon is from Michael's. I used a 1 3/8" punch and a 1 1/1" punch for the cupcakes.

Cardstock is Gable Green, Bashful Blue, Pretty In Pink and Whisper White. Inks were the same.

OK now seriously.....
I NEED to get working on some simple cards for my friends and I to do on Saturday!

Garden Whimsy

I'm loving this Garden Whimsy set!! It's so cute! This was a quick card using the left over pieces from the challenge card I did the other day. I couldn't get a good pic of this card. I tried several times and finally gave up. The colours don't look true.

I'm having a couple girls over this weekend so I best get movin' on creating some cards for us to do together while we chat and eat!

Wanted....

I'd been meaning to get a Thank You card made for the kind people at the Firestone Dealership in Red Deer but everytime I sat down to make a card it turned out a little too feminine for men! I thought the colour challenge on SCS today would be perfect for a mans card! I finally got to use the Wanted set from the new catty too! Win Win Win situation for me. I stamped To Thank You on the inside of the card with a little note to them.

Supplies Used:All Stampin' Up!

Stamp Set: Wanted

Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke

Inks: Not Quite Navy, Bordering Blue and Always Artichoke

Accessories: 1/2 inch circle punch and dimensionals

I've been tagged!

While on holidays Dawn Griffith tagged me on her site! Be sure to check it out HERE. She always has such fabulous cards and ideas on there.
I'm supposed to list 7 random things about myself and then tag 7 others. Not sure I know anyone to tag that hasn't already been tagged before....LOL

Ok so here goes:
1. I NEVER leave the house without mascara....I know, sounds silly but if I don't wear it people think I look sickly or something!

2. I don't like chocolate cake...but if it's the ONLY thing there...I'll eat it! haha

3. My favourite soda is Verners Gingerale BUT I can't get it here so I lug it home from Florida, California, Ontario or Michigan!

4. I am lucky to have a GREAT husband who actually feeds my stampin' addiction by buying me goodies whenever and wherever he sees them!

5. When I was younger we had two lambs that we named Heidi and Woolie.

6. I was born in Windsor, Ontario but moved out west when I was 9. Years later after getting married to Brian, we moved back and forth TWICE from Windsor, Ontario to Alberta.

7. I gave my sister a black eye when we were kids....OK....by accident...LOL...I used to throw the bat when we played baseball....silly of her to stand near me eh?!

Stung by the bees.....

Boy was I excited to come upon those cute bee stamps from Stampendous while we were on holidays! I LOVE these cuties!
This is a simple and quick card. I used SU! Real Red, Yo Yo Yellow and WW. The DP was from my scrap pile. I am sure this is the Maize ribbon from SU! I wanted to use the new SU! scallop punch but it was too small for this image so I used my Marvy punches.
Now I can't wait to make more cards with these bees!

So Kind

I have only been for two days but that box of new goodies from Stampin' Up! has been calling my name. I was surprised that I got my shipment so fast! It took only five days from shipping to get here which is unusually quick!! Not that I am complaining....
Made a couple simple cards today while watching the Nascar race. The second card I made a boo boo on it when I was stamping the So Kind. Somehow I had ink on my hand and smeared a bit on the WW so I just cut the ends off. Didn't want to scrap the piece so I tried to fix it. Not sure if I accomplished that or made it worse :)
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Priceless from Stampin' Up!
Cardstock: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White
Ink: Wild Wasabi
Accessories: Paper Piercing Tools, Prima flower and Making Memories Crystal Brad

Supplies Used:
Stamp Set: Priceless

Couple of holiday pictures

These pics were taken in the Redwood Forest. Such an AMAZING place! I think that was one of the highlights on our drive home. So peaceful in there.
Brian and Chloe sitting on Grandpa's lap....haha. Then I had to get a pic taken of me with the little bear I brought home! He is so cute!!! His eyes are really close together and he just has this dopey look about him.

I was saying to Brian that this trip wasn't as good for shopping as our February trip across the States but now that I look at my goodies I can't say it was all that bad! LOL!
Some of the stuff I got at Target and Walmart. A great deal of it I got at a store on Katella Ave in Anaheim! They had BUTTloads of stampin' stuff there!! Spent $220 in that store alone!

Started our journey home today

Whew! So glad to get out of Anaheim! After two days we were bored....LOL. The hotel we stayed at did not offer free internet. So you could sign up for 49.95 a week. I did...BUT it didn't work. So then I had to go and use the business center for 6 bucks a day....but I couldn't sign on to my blog to do ANYTHING!
Thanks for taggin' me Dawn! I'll be sure to check it all out when I get home and tag some of my friends.
Will be sure to post a few of our pictures on here when I get home. I forgot the cord that goes from the camera to the laptop. Another one of my goofs!
Should be home by Saturday!

Heat wave...ugh!

Well we made it this evening to Anaheim! Thank goodness because those few days of the heat in Vegas about killed ME! I have discovered I don't do well in that heat. Well really it was EXCESSIVE! We just watched the news and Vegas was 128F which is 53C....OMG so glad we got out when it was 115F....rofl
When we got to Anaheim it was 92F....so much cooler...really it is!
Tonight I'm off on a hunt for craft stores! Sure hope to find some goodies to take home.
Hope all my American friends are having a GREAT 4th of July!!!

Viva Las Vegas!

So we made it to Vegas today. It's HOT here...holy cow! It was 46C in my Jeep and I think that is about 116F when converted....YIKES!
The first day driving was NOT a good day. Blew a tire 3 minutes outside Red Deer and had a 2.5 hour delay trying to find a tire for my new Jeep Compass. Then we got to the border and it was backed up for an hour and a half. Didn't make it to Idaho Falls until after midnight...ugh
Yesterday we had a GREAT time with my friend Michelle and her family in Idaho Falls! Her kids are ADORABLE!
Today we drove to Vegas. Chloe is itchin' to swim already....so I best got put my suit on and get her in the pool!
