Hanna Shops

Good Afternoon!
I haven't had any time today to stamp but I wanted to share a card I made last night. I soooooo love this Hanna stamp! She's so fun!
I picked up some Scenic Route DP last week and thought it would look great with Fabulous Flowers stamp set. Then when I went to use it....it really was TOO much together. So out came Hanna!
I hope to have some time this evening to look at the challenge on SCS. Hope it's something I can do ;)
Gotta run!
Thanks for stopping by!

SCS Sketch and a Paper Prettie Card

Today's Sketch Challenge on SCS was a nice simple layout. She asked us to use a flower if we could on the end. Lucky for me, I have tons of these things and rarely use them....today was the day!
This first card was created with Cameo Coral and Chocolate Chip cardstock. It was the flower that gave me the inspiration! I stamped the flowers and sentiment in Choc Chip Craft and used Clear Embossing Powder. The large flower is actually a paper one made by Making Memories.
Supplies:
Stamp: Fabulous Flowers
Cardstock: Cameo Coral, Choc Chip
Ink: Choc Chip Craft
Accessories: Clear EP, Mat Pack and Paper Piercer, Paper flower, Prima Flower, Misc Brad
Yah! I got to use my rub ons! Aren't they great?! These ones are from the Eastern Elegance set. My flower is actually a silk flower that I picked up at Michael's and took it apart. I used a few layers of the flower and added a prima with a big white brad to hold it together. I think it looks pretty good.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Cutie Pie DP
Accessories: Eastern Elegance Rub Ons, Corner Rounder Punch, Round Tab Punch, Silk Flower, Prima Flower, Misc Brad, Misc Jewel
Yesterday I received the Snowflake Kisses stamp set from Christie at Paper Pretties.
I'm not much into winter and snow anymore...lol..probably because of the weather we have had the past few days! LOL...but I really wanted to stamp with the new set. I used some Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar DP for my starting point. It's hard to tell in the picture but the snow is coloured in a light wash of Bashful Blue. The entire image was coloured with Watercolour Wonder Crayons. I'm sure liking these things lately! It's great when some old is new again!
Supplies:
Stamp Set: Snowflake Kisses
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Bravo Burgandy, Cameo Coral, Cosmo Cricket Hey Sugar DP
Inks: Versafine Black Onyx, Soft Sky
Accessories: Scallop Punch, Blender Pen, WC Crayons, Snowflake Brads, Small and Lg Oval Punches, Dimesionals
Thanks for stopping by today!

Gift Sets

Since it's been so cold this week I have had some extra time to stay home and stamp! I have a few projects to show you that I did last night and then finished up this morning!
This first tin and cards are a set I made to donate to a friend this is having a silent auction for Heart & Stroke. She's having a fundraiser while I am away in Florida and I wanted to somehow contribute. I hope that she likes it! I used the Stampendous Bees and watercoloured them in Soft Subtles. The Designer Paper is by Imaginisce and it's called For Peep's Sake.

These next few pictures are of a set similar to the ones that Sharon from No Time To Stamp? had created! She shared the template for the little box on her blog. Be sure to check it out!!

This first set is using Embrace Life with Ginger Blossom DP. I used Ruby Red, Groovy Guava and Very Vanilla cardstocks. The flowers were watercoloured with an aqua painter and re-inkers in Guava and Ruby Red. Then I added my fave embellishment....Liquid Pearls!

For this next set I used Bronc Buster and Wanted. I loved the Sage Shadow and Choc Chip together so I went with that again. Sponging the Sage Shadow with Creamy Caramel. The Very Vanilla is sponged with Creamy Caramel and then Choc Chip. The images are stamped with Choc Chip Craft and Clear Embossed. I was excited to use the star punches!

Well that's all I have for now.
I also need to apologize in advance to my beloved OILERS....I'm going to the game tonight....and lately....every time I go....we lose....lol....so sorry OILERS! We need a win!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Sketch Card and Featured Stamper

You know I just got the strangest unsubscription notice from someone. For the reason they put TOO MANY UPDATES ....What is up with that??? Don't most of us post once a day on our blog? That's basically what I do....Oh sorry....today I have TWO....so shoot me!
Anyway, I was rather annoyed by that one....lol
So let's move on....
This first card is of Sophia from Paper Pretties. I used Beate's Weekend Sketch again...or close to. I think the DP is from SEI that I picked up yesterday. I wanted a different sentiment so I used the one from Garden Whimsy....I love this phrase.
Supplies Used:
Stamp Sets: Cuddle Me from Paper Pretties, Garden Whimsy SU!
Cardstock: Bravo Burgandy, Regal Rose, Confetti White, SEI DP
Inks: Versafine Black Onyx, Burgandy, Regal Rose, Rose Red, Going Grey, Blush blossom, Close to Cocoa
Accessories: Marvy Scallop Punches, Coluzzle, Word Window Punch, Designer Label Punch, 1 1/8", 1"Circle Punch, Regal Rose Ribbon, Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals, Gems
This card is from todays Featured Stamper on SCS. It's Pam Varnell. She has a fabulous gallery and you can see the card I cased of hers HERE.
I kept the same layout and stamp set but changed the Cardstock, Designer Paper and Embellishments.
Supplies Used:
Stamps: Embrace Life
Cardstock: Groovy Guava, River Rock, Confetti Cream, Ginger Blossom DP
Inks: Timber Brown Stazon, River Rock, Groovy Guava, Ruby Red
Accessories: Aqua Painter, May Arts Ribbon, Word Window Punch, Photo Corner Punch, Dollar store gems, Dimensionals, Liquid Pearls
Thanks for stopping by today! I hope my daily posting won't keep you away ;)
ETA: I do use both SU! Markers and re-inkers when I watercolour....they blend pretty good with an aquapainter if you use WC paper or Confetti Paper.

Holy cow...can you say DEEP FREEZE?

This is for all of you who have been complaining how cold it is where you live....lol....want to come visit ME?

Tonight our LOW with windchill will be -46C.....for you Americans....that is -50.8

YES you read that right....OMG eh?!

We are going to be cold ALL week....highs around -30C (-22F) withOUT the windchill...

I'll be going NOWHERE all week....soooooooooo lucky for me....I'll have TONS of stamping time ;)

See you all later today, I'll have some pictures!

Saturdays sketches

Yah! It's Saturday! I love the weekends...LOL!
This morning Chloe and I headed out to do a few errands and of course we HAD to stop at the LSS. I found some new stamps from Inque Boutique for a pretty good price. So I thought I would try them out. Figured if they didn't work that great I wouldn't be out too much money. Turns out they work pretty darn good. Not so well on WC paper but then it's always hit and miss if you don't ink and press properly. I used them on my second card.
Onto the sketches I did!
This first one is from Lauren's blog. I didn't get my center panel quite long enough or rather the DP layer is too big...haha! Either way it's a little different. I like how this one turned out! I need a baby card for one of the teachers who recently had a little girl. I always seem to do PINK for girls and wanted it to be different this go round ;)
Stamps: Wild About You
Cardstock: Barely Banana, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, WW and Celery Prints Paper
Inks: Barely Banana, Certainly Celery
Accessories: Celery Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals, 1 3/8", 1 1/4", 1 1/8", 1/2" Circle punch
Here is the card I made using those new stamps. They are from Inque Boutique and called Bunnies and Chicks. I also used a little chick from last years Bunny Hugs by SU!
Be sure to check out this sketch by Jen on her blog! I added a little extra layer with the sentiment. My Designer Paper layer was placed a little low so I didn't have room to stamp at the bottom.
Stamps: Inque Boutique Bunnies and Chicks, Bunny Hugs
Cardstock: Barely Banana, Bashful Blue, Groovy Guava, WC Paper and Imaginisce For Peep's Sake DP
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Groovy Guava, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: Aqua Painter, Scallop Punch, 1 3/8"Circle Punch, Celery Grosgrain, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Blog Sketches and Challenges

Fridays are such a fabulous day! Not just because it's the weekend but because there are blog sketches to be done! YAH!
The first one is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge. I haven't used Bronc Buster for months and thought it would work out GREAT for today's sketch. The image was stamped on Very Vanilla with Choc Chip Craft and then embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. I sponged all the Sage Shadow with Creamy Caramal and a little Choc Chip. I think the rest is pretty straight forward.
Today I happened to browse and see that Amy had a sketch posted on her blog Prairie Paper and Ink! Also Sharon from No Time To Stamp? had a challenge to use scallops on a card. Yah! Two for me! I love that!
I made my card a 5.5 x 5.5 square. I really like doing them. I know they cost more to mail but who cares ;) I had the Snowbunny Bella stamped for a bit so thought I'd use her. It's STILL winter in my part of the country and probably will be for two more months. So this card can be used for sometime...lol
I used the WinterBright SSK and some misc felt brads that Brian gave me for Christmas. I had wanted to use Fun Flock on the pink fluffies but...I don't have pink I guess. Red, greens, blues, white, orange, yellow, black....but apparently no pink...ugh!
Thanks for stopping by today! I did do the SCS Limited Supplies Challenge and will try to post those cards later. If not tonight, tomorrow for sure!
Have a FAB weekend!

Pulling for Mr. R.

Yesterday I heard some disturbing news while at the school. One of the teachers was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. The outlook is good as they caught it in time. He will have surgery next month and be off work for a couple of months. This man is amazingly upbeat! He said he's glad that this is what it is and now he can face it head on and deal with it. His will and strength is to be admired, that's for sure!
I wish him the best! So this is the card I made for him. He was so excited to receive it today! I was thrilled that HE was thrilled....LOL
Thanks for stopping by today!

SCS Sketch Cards

Both of the cards are made using todays Sketch Challenge on SCS. It's a FAB sketch that Jen from i{heart}2stamp had used. The first card card makes me think of Spring and Easter. Maybe because the DP is by Imaginisce and it's called For Peep's Sake ;) LOL!
The second card is with one of my favourite new sets out of the catty! A Little Birdie Told Me is so much fun to colour in. I cut and coloured the party hats and attached them with a rolled up glue dot for a little more dimension.
Card recipes:
Bee Card:
Stamps: Stampendous Bee Trio
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Barely Banana, WC paper, Imagininisce For Peep's Sake DP
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx, Soft Sky, Barely Banana
Accessories: Aqua Painter, 2 way glue pen, Glitter, White Opal Liquid Pearls, Dimensionals, Large Corner Rounder Punch

A Little Birdie Told Me Card:
Stamps: A little birdie told me
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Temp. Turq, WC Paper, Bali Breeze DP

Friendship

Oh goodness....my wallet is going to take a MAJOR hit late February! I haven't ordered from the new catty yet(except the pre-order in December) as we leave for Floriday in less than 3 weeks. I never order in January or February as to save money. I'm sure you understand that. It had never been a problem until this year. With a new catty starting in January it is a little different. Then WHAT shows up in my mailbox today??? The Occasions mini that starts March 1 to May 31. OMG...have you seen it?! Seriously...I need almost EVERYTHING in there...haha....!
Stampin' Up! sure is coming out with beautiful things! How am I ever going to afford all these goodies? LOL! I can tell you that missing work with pneumonia is NOT helping my situation....ugh!
Anyway....onto my card for today. It's for the Colour Challenge on SCS. Blue Bayou, Soft Sky and Real Red.
I stamped the image from MFT(By the Seashore) on confetti white so I could use my aqua painter and classic inks.
I kept the same sort of layout/design as my card yesterday. When something isn't broken, why change it right?
Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to drool over all the up and coming new stuff...better get my notepad and pen for a list too ;)

Time to Shop!

So it was another BORING day sitting at home getting well. I'm not used to doing NOTHING at all. Ok so I could have cleaned the house, done some laundry or cooked....but I chose to stamp instead...haha!
I am feeling a bit better today. Not coughing or blowing my nose half as much. I had to run out to the grocery store today and the lady at the checkout asked if I was auditioning for Rudolph....guess my nose IS a little red ;)
Last week I received this My Favorite Things Stamp set from Paper Pretties in the mail. I am sooooooooo loving this image! It will see a lot of ink!
I used some of the Basic Grey Two Scoops DP along with Certainly Celery, Soft Sky,WW and Confetti cardstock. The yummy ribbon is some that I received from Paper Pretties as well. It's gorgeous isn't it??!! I added some dollar store bling to the ribbon and the sentiment.
I LOVE how this card turned out! Can I say that? LOL...sounds funny!
My very good friend, Michelle, sent me a HUGE box of goodies from Target last week. She included some pink and some red mailboxes AND some of these really cool blue wintery tin houses. Can't wait to alter those babies!
I decided to pull out some DP that Brian had picked up at Costco and cover a pink mailbox and make a little card. I'm going to stuff it with some little sweet treats and drop it to a friend I haven't seen in months! It's so fun to surprise someone, isn't it?!
Thanks for stopping by today!

i{heart} sketches!

I know I'm supposed to be getting rest but how is stamping going to tire me out? LOL! Yesterday both Jen and Lauren posted their Saturday sketches. Today I decided to head downstairs and gather some supplies and get at it!!

Be sure to check out Lauren's sketch HERE.

My friend, Michelle, had sent me this pig stamp from GinaK a little bit ago. This was the first time it's seen ink. I think this cute little ribbon is some that I picked up at Walmart some time ago. The little flower charm is one that Lauren sent to me last week!! Wow they are heavy...haha! Thanks again Lauren for all the goodies ;)

I pulled out my Watercolour Crayons to colour the pig in. I love using those things! Chloe even arranged them for me. They had all gotten mixed up. She's such a good kid eh?!

Jen from i{heart}2stamp always has great sketches too. I knew I wanted to use Embrace Life and the Ginger Blossom DP. I'm so loving those together!! Aren't you?

I have tons of Build A Brads. Stocked up on them awhile ago. Maybe I over did it on this card...LOL

I left off a sentiment for now. I will stamp something when the time comes.

Thanks to everyone for their well wishes. I haven't felt this awful in a long time. I know it'll get better. I'm staying put this week so I should have tons of stamping time ;)

Turned out to be Pneumonia

I thought I was getting better but I spent most of last night coughing and blowing my nose. I was really wheezy too but didn't think much of it. So first thing this morning, off I went to the medi-center. Figures I always get sick on a weekend....lol
Anyway, turns out I have a small bout of pneumonia and a sinus infection :(
The doctor gave me some antibiotics and an inhaler to take 4 times a day to help open up my lungs. I'm supposed to get plenty of rest so that's what I'm doing. Kicking back on the couch watching tv....lol
Hope to be back stamping tomorrow though!
Thanks for stopping by!

Limited Supplies Challenge Cards

Happy Friday everyone!
It's bitter cold here again. I'm not liking it very much. You know, it's that kind of cold that when you go outside and breathe, your nose hairs stick together....lol....OK maybe too much info? haha!
Anyway....let's move onto my cards!
This first one is a combo. It's for the Limited Supply Challenge on SCS and also for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge.
I finally got this Hot Stuff Stamp Set from My Favourite Things this week. Couldn't wait to use it!! I stamped the image in Timber Brown Stazon on Watercolour Paper. Then coloured it in with an AquaPainter and my Watercolour Crayons. I forgot how nice they are to work with!!
Here is Sophia again ;)
She is one of the newest Paper Pretties Stamps.
She is stamped with Black Stazon and coloured with my blender pen and re-inkers.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you all have a FAB weekend ahead!

Card Night and Goodie Mail!

Last night I had some of my girlfriends over for card night! What a blast we had. It's always fun to get together with friends.
Here are a couple of the cards we made. This first Birdie card is from a sketch challenge on SCS a couple of weeks ago. I made a card HERE with this layout too.
This next card is almost a total case of one on page 49 in the new catty. Instead of adding ribbon on the bottom, I used my Scor-Pal to dry emboss two lines. I wanted to use an old set that hasn't seen ink in a bit. When I saw that card in the catty it was if this set was brand new again!
Next are a couple pics of GOODIES that LAUREN sent to Chloe and I! OH how I LOVE Target goodies! Thank you sooooooooooooo much Lauren for totally spoiling us!!! I so love the card she sent too! That sentiment cracks me up!

Aren't these embellishments awesome?! Can't wait to use them!!
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you all are having a wonderful week!
ETA:
I just found out that Paper Pretties is having an
Out With The Old, In With The New Sale
They are clearing out items into the SALE catagory daily, to make room for new products from CHA. Be sure to check often as new items will be added to the SALE daily.

SCS Sketch Cards

YAH! I stamped!!! I'm feeling much better today...thank goodness! I mean, I still have this NASTY cough and I sound crappy but I FEEL good!
The sketch challenge on SCS is one that I can't really miss ;)
This elephant is adorable!!! It's definitely an image I will use for anything.
I stamped the image in Black Stazon and colour with PrismaPencils and Gamsol. I added stickles to the heart and to the butterfly. The ribbon is from May Arts and the Designer Paper is from Scenic Route. I think the rest is pretty straight forward.
A few months ago I had ordered a couple of stamps from Cornish Heritage Farms. This being one of them. It hadn't seen ink yet and I thought it went great with this Designer Paper I picked up last week. It's hard to tell in the picture but the little flowers are covered in glitter. It was such a pretty paper I could not pass it up!!
I stamped the image in Black Stazon onto Watercolour Paper. I used my Aqua painter to colour in with Soft Sky. The centers were lightly coloured with Barely Banana.
Thanks for all the well wishes yesterday! They must have helped!
Hope you all have a GREAT day and thanks for stopping by!

Missing my stamping....

I've been down and out for three days now. My gosh it feels like forever! It's been years since I have felt this sick....ugh!

I don't even have the energy to go down and stamp. Does anyone else ever get like that?

Sure hope to be well enough tomorrow to go to work and stamp too....lol

Thanks for stopping by! I'll have something posted soon....I hope...haha!

Cutie Sketches

I'll apologize for my lack of mojo on these cards. I'm not feeling great today. I relaxed all morning and thought that if I got up and stamped I'd feel better. Besides I NEED to do Lauren and Jen's sketches each week...lol
I think I'll give both of these another go tomorrow ;)
This first one if for Lauren's sketch on her blog HERE.
The colour is off on these pictures. I used Bashful Blue, Celery, Rose Red cardstocks.

I need a baby card for someone I work with and figured this would do just fine. Jen had another great sketch posted on her blog HERE.

Both cards used the same basic supplies. Cutie Pie DP and Zoofari stamp set.
Off to go lay on the couch and watch the football game. We gave away our Oiler vs. Flames tickets tonight. I'll watch the hockey game on tv!

A Couple Card Challenges

The past couple of days have been super crazy busy making cards!
Friday are one of my favourite days of the week. Both Beate and Sharon posts challenges on their blogs.
This first card is for Sharon's challenge on her blog HERE.
You were to make a TALL and THIN card....vertical ;)
I had to run out and buy a new 1 1/4 circle punch yesterday because my other one jammed up...total bummer!
BUT...
while I was at one of the LSS I found some of the NEW Basic Grey Two Scoops DP!!
I thought it would go great with this stamp I picked up in California last summer! I've seen many people doing these cool bows. Pam Bassett has a cool tutorial on her site for doing them! Check it out...her bows are GORGEOUS.
Beate posted her sketch yesterday morning but I didn't have a chance to do it until later in the day. With the sun setting so early, I ran out of time to photograph it. Be sure to check out Beate's sketch on her blog HERE.
Hope everyone enjoys their weekend!
I feel a cold coming on....ugh....

Valentine's Goodies and Groomers Gift

I know you are probably asking WHAT is this girl doing?! Valentine's goodies already??!!
Well we are never here for Valentine's Day as we head to Florida around that time for the Daytona 500. Each year I try to be prepared but it never fails, I'm scramblin' at the last minute...well NOT this year ;) Chloe started writing out her Valentine's for each classmate last night too.
These are those HARD conversation hearts....the kids won't notice if they are a little harder in a months time...haha!
I used some of my Pomegranate Satin ribbon because I have three rolls and besides, it looks nice.
This morning I dropped Snickers off at the dog groomers. I have a new groomer(second time) as my old groomer that we had for a few years suddenly passed away last summer. I know Snickers misses her as she was always so good with her.
I'm hoping the new girl is just as good. Thought I'd make her a quick set(30 minutes) of 3x3 cards. I didn't stamp any sentiments or anything. I used up some of my scrap. Think she'll notice? LOL
Time to run! I have a couple more things to do here at home before leaving again. Can't wait to see Snickers! She's getting shaved...haha...poor thing will need to wear a sweater again.
Have a wonderful day!
Thanks for stopping by!

Kickstand Cards

I'm running a little late this afternoon so I will just leave you with the three cards I made for today's SCS Sketch Challenge. You were to make Kickstand Cards. I've never done one before. I suppose it's sort of like a tent topper but you make your card the regular size and slice a bit off the bottom front.
This first card was made for Chloe! She LOVES monkeys and this is her DP that she picked out months ago!
I don't know if you can tell or not but I added a small amount of Cotton Candy Stickles to the flowers on the DP. This is one of my fave SU! stamps and papers!
I HAD to make a Hanna card! It's been a bit since I had her out...or from what I can remember anyway...lol
This DP was from a HUGE box that Brian brought home from Costco last fall. I don't know the name of it, sorry. The box has no writing on it anywhere. Obviously the label was only on the wrapper...hehe!
Hope everyone is having a great day! Sorry not much more time to chat!

Taggin' Along...

Another round of tagging! I've been tagged by Renée at Stamping for Sanity!
Thanks!

1. Name your 2 favorite Scrapbooking topics.
Chloe and Vacation pics
2. What are the 2 best places you've been to?
Disney World in Florida, Daytona 500
3. Name 2 things you do every day.
STAMP ;) and clean
4. Name 2 things that pretty much everyone knows about you.
I'm a huge sports fan and I don't like elevators
5. What are your 2 favorite stores?
Target(when I'm Stateside) and anything Scrapbooking
6. What are your 2 favorite accessories to stamp/scrap with?
Ribbon and Brads
7. What are your two favourite occasions to make cards for?
Christmas and Halloween
My Question 8. What are your two favourite SU! Cardstock colours?
Choc Chip and Pretty in Pink

Obviously, all of these questions have "2" in them, so you'll need to answer these questions on your blog & add one more question with "2" of something (this tagging started with 4 questions). That way it spreads & it'll get longer & change depending on who it visits!
I am going to tag Nancy from iSTAMP and Nancy from Paper Smiles

CC148 and a Mailbox

When I heard the Colour Challenge on SCS today I wasn't sure at first I could pull it off. I think I did okay though! I think that the use of all the circles really pulls this card together nicely.
What do you think?
The CC was Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi and Barely Banana. I Cuttlebugged the Wasabi layer with Dots. Then I cut a smaller piece of Bayou Blue and used the corner rounder to make a scalloped edge. The main image is stamped on Confetti White with Stazon and then coloured with an AquaPainter and ink pads. The clouds and heart are popped out for added dimension. I decided to add the jumbo eyelets and thread the Double Stitched Blue Bayou ribbon through.
Last year I was lucky enough to get some of these mailboxes mailed to me from a couple different friends in the States. Man, I sure wish we had Target here in Canada! I bet 50% of my allowed $750 that I bring back from Florida each year, is spent at Target...LOL

As with every year, we won't be here for Valentine's Day. Chloe still likes to give her class Valentine's cards though. The teachers always save hers from her classmates and she gets them when we return. This year I wanted to be prepared early!! I made this simple little mailbox for her to stuff her cards into. Then she can take this to school and leave it with the teacher to hand out at the party.

I ended up using some of the WinterBright SSK that was sitting on my desk. I think the paper looks cute for a sweet day ;)
Have you heard Paper Pretties is on a hunt for Snowflake?
If you want to play along for a chance to win some great goodies be sure to check out Jillian's Blog HERE.
